Thanks Chris! I think the SO 410 is top of her class in this size range. Though I’ve never used a galley running length wise in the cabin, it just doesn’t seem practical underway. Then Jeanneau comes along and fits a U shaped galley amidships, while still keeping two settees and table in a 40’. I think this design is phenomenal! The 380 is still my favorite, even if money were no object re: purchase price. I’ll be keeping my boat in a marina, so the added slip fees/running costs cements the SO380 as my favorite.
The Beneteau 41/Moorings 42.3 is my current favorite. But this Jeanneau is a close second. It really depends on purchasing price which I would choose. Otherwise, they are both amazing!
Goes past that magic 40ft dockage number. BTW, I was down around your neck of the woods visiting my daughter... Even had a delicious red snapper at your marina. 😊
So far, my number one. Too bad you can't find it used online in North America or the Caribbean. Might have to seriously weigh the option purchasing the boat overseas. If it's cheaper than shipping, might be that perfect time to get an Atlantic crossing with a crew.
I like it because it has a lifting keel and the Beneteau does not. This makes it a possibility for me unless the mast is over 65 foot. Now i have to watch it again or look for the specs i don't remember seeing that.
Swing keel. I live in Florida and frequent the Bahamas. Very shallow. If I do hit (I will) I rather something not fixed take the impact. Need to learn more about how their keels work to be sure but that’s where I’m leaning.
Although I love the walk around cockpit, but to relax and dangle your legs over board? And it's not wide enough to sleep on it. All boats are a compromise :D
On a 40 footer i prefer 2 large cabin 2 head version. As for the interior it just looks like cheap chipboard, ikea, total turn off. But hey I like the Hunters who many hate so…
@G Canada I prefer the two cabin layout as well , you get larger cabins and a far superior galley in my humble opinion. I also like hunters however few were made with dual helms until recently and I despise single helms so there is that
Thanks Christopher awesome stuff..keep up the great work pumping out the videos!
Thanks! Will do!
Thanks Chris!

This is my favorite 40 footer.

Jacques Cousteau was a hero of mine e growing up.
Definitely my favorite coastal cruiser from the french production lines.
The 410 is the sweet spot, IMO.

This is 1 of my favorite 40 footers

What do you think about the Sun Odyssey 440
Makes me want 1. I wonder what is the price range for one of these?
How do you do it!!! Is there ha slightly longer than 40’ going to catapult running costs significantly?
Generally speaking yes, 40 is that magic number , go above and yes it will drastically increase running costs annually
Gorgeous boat
It really is!
You said the hull is compromised 😂😂
How about hull comprised ?😂😂
If you were buying this boat would you go for the swing keel or the lifting keel and why?

Can I be a Kansas City arm chair captain?
They say, you can be anything you want to be
Just to be precise is not solid hull the correct terminology is monolithic hull, no core structure.
Nice!
I want a sailboat
Dang 8th this time. I was taking a nap ........
Nice sailboat but IKEA furniture like in most new boats😢
I’m just never gonna like these. The interiors look awful to me. So cheap inside, no big rear cabin, no thanks
You prefer the traditional wood interiors ? As far as cabins thats jsut a matter of two vs 3 cabin layout. Always go for what you like the best

@@ChasingLatitudes I understand that
gcanada is probably an old dude. Like old Harley Davidson riders! They like what they like.@@ChasingLatitudes
A coastal cruiser IMHO.
Large.
No traveller … receipt for disaster
What boat ?
