    Also, regarding selecting 1/4 vs 1/8th... sometimes, its better to quantize a section at a time, rather than the entire performance, and select the note length that makes sense for that region.

    Alternately (at least in Reaper), you can quantize exactly to the grid, then use the Humanize tool to separately adjust the humanization of velocity and timing. I prefer to quantize perfectly to the grid to start with (as well as changing note lengths so they are correct), then humanize afterward. That way, i have a perfect copy to render to sheet music if I need to get a human player to replicate the midi part for me down the line.

    I didn't know this was such a wide spread issue... Thank goodness I got a _Quantize 50%_ button.

    Bitwig and most DAWs have alot of Q options .percentage front of the note, percentage rear of note etc plus humanize settings. Something's I never Q that's my piano playing cause on some songs I roll chords by microseconds it sounds amazing . Just play it slower.

    Same number for each performance (track) or just feel each one?

    How do you get the time quantize with number (1/16 ect..) ?
    I only have words like Triplet… and it’s so stressful :/

    How can I do this for audio? Great video by the way!

      It's weird in Logic because this Quantize slider appears only on "Flex Pitch" tracks, and not on Flex Time tracks.
      You can still quantize Flex Time audio tracks by hitting Q on the keyboard so I don't know why it is that way.

    What about the “swing” slider? Whats that for?

    • @johnedfeldt1723
      @johnedfeldt1723 3 роки тому +2

      Swing is an entirely different feel than straight, look up "swing beat vs straight beat" on UA-cam. Hard to explain with words, easier heard. The slider then determines how much of a swing you want to apply to the MIDI. =)

      Swing has a delayed but “jazzy” feel to your track, and straight is just a simple beat count with no drag or delay midi response on it. Kind like the track he’s showing on here as a demo. It’s straight through and not dragged on, and in between, 2 and 4. (I.E.: Most EDM 4 on the floor tracks).
      Might be the best or at least somewhat, an understandable explanation for your question. Hope I’ve helped. :)
