    Camera angle and lighting in this video makes details that are being displayed hard to see.

    I took this knowledge back to the community firing. At last, our ancient copper came out beautiful for everyone. Now trying to figure out why saturated gold is so black!?!

      If PC-02 Saturation Gold is coming out black, that usually indicates you need to apply thicker coats. However if you continue having issues with this glaze, please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer support team by emailing: customercare@amaco.com

      I found I needed to apply 5 brushes coats of saturation gold to get the right colour. 3 coats provided a bronze colour. I fire electric cone 6, no hold.

    Camera angle and distance makes it hard to see.

    HI, LEARNED ALOT, THANKS. I HAVE WATCHED ALL OF YOUR ANCIENT COPPER VIDEO'S AND VERY BRIEFLY YOU MENTIONED PINGING. I MADE A BOWL AND MUG THAT PINGED AFTER BRINGING THEM HOME, IT SOUNDED LIKE WIND CHIMES, WHEN I MENTIONED IT TO OTHER POTTERS THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, WHAT CAUSES THAT?

      It's probably the glaze crazing as even days. it cools. Depending on which glaze and clay combination you use and how you fire some pots may ping for a few hours and sometimes even days. ~Cara

    What is a medium firing? What are the ramps and set points? UK controllers work on degrees per hour to the various set point temperatures. Thank you.

      Hi Celia, a medium fire is a is a pre-programed setting on the excel kilns. If you click the link below, it will take you to a PDF of our kiln manual and on page 16 you can learn about creating custom cone fires. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out our support team by emailing customercare@amaco.com. Thanks!

    What did the cones look like on the medium speed cone 6 with 10 min hold? Medium speed cone 6 with a 5 min hold in my kiln is about a cone 6.5. With a 10 min hold that’s just about got to be pretty close to cone 7?

      The cone 6 with 10 minute hold cone was a full bend but not cone 7. All kilns fire differently, which is why we recommend using a witness cone in every firing, and our kiln at that time required about a 5-10 minute hold to reach a full bend on the cone (which was our target).

    I saw a firing at cone 6 and it had large burst patterns. Is it just the cone 6 that created it

    • @AMACOBrent
      @AMACOBrent  3 роки тому +1

      Yes! There's such a difference between cone 5 and cone 6 for this glaze. That slight temperature difference allows for the growth of the crystals :)

    I can’t properly see any detail of the glaze in this video. This isn’t very helpful.
