I love this beer for the price point. It was my go-to beer all Summer, as I could get it for $18/12-pack. Enjoyable, easy drinking, nice abv. Of course there are better "hazy NEIPAs" out there, but not for $1.50/can. I will definitely be buying this again when the weather warmsn. It's currently dark heavy beer season :-).
@@DarwinsBeerReviews The current NEIPAs I'm loving right now are: TG's "Intergalactic Warrior" and "King Sue". Also in CT we have New Park Brewing - "Spectrum" and "Laurel" are delicious. And Tribus Brewing - "Blank Check" and "Benji" are amazing. On my all time list, but rarely get to have are Trillium Congress St, Treehouse Doppelganger, and HF Double Galaxy.
I bought a tallboy can of this for 2 bucks at the grocery down the block and was really impressed. I won't be unrealistic and compare this to the 6 dollar Interboro can I'd get if I walked another 6 blocks to Whole Foods-- For what it is, for the price:quality, this is a home run from Sierra Nevada as an accessible hazy IPA. I'll be quite content when I have this again.
trying this for the first time right now. its pretty good, too safe is a good description. think i prefer bell's official in terms of safe popular hazy IPA's.
it's a concert crusher in the tall cans - the ladybug rollercoaster. hats off for rating this 3 times within a few points of each other over a few years. that shows a true reviewer ability
I’ve gotten a 6pk if this maybe twice now. It’s pretty boring for what it’s supposed to be, and, actually, I’d rather spend the money on a 4pk of 16oz Sam Adams NE ipa....or, Bell’s Official hazy ipa since it’s cheaper and better.
This beer is very basic and generic for an NEIPA, I would say Newbelgian and Deshutes definitely profile a more fruit burst profile in there hazy beers, this one is definitely more of a generic, get you through the night Hazy IPA...Will I buy it again? Probably yes, because like you said, it's safe, but I'm not getting that fruit burst/pineapple/mango/papaya, that I usually expect from these NEIPA'S🍊🍊🍺..Cheers.
Great review. Glad you re-reviewed this one. I just did a blind test between this an Sam Adams New England IPA, and Sam Adams blew this out of the water. This one is very salty like you mentioned. I've tried it a number of times and this is definitely the worst impression I've had of it. Very much salty pineapple. I was actually much more impressed with Sam Adams New England IPA. That one might be worth revisiting sometime now that all of our palates have calmed down from the "hazy craze". (and currently locked down in isolation from a pandemic). I thought the Sam Adams New England IPA was quite good for a macro.
Glad to hear that! My reviews agree with that sentiment. I love when people come to the comments with those similar thoughts. Cheers! Enjoy that Sam Adams NE IPA!
First, In my opinion, I think Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA makes for a great gateway beer for the adjunct beer drinker wanting to explore IPAs for the first time. 2nd, I think Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA is similar in flavor to Kona Big Wave Golden Ale. What say you?
@@DarwinsBeerReviews I agree both are hoppy but in more of a citrus and less pine kind of flavor. The big thing separates both of them from each other is their difference in ABV. Kona Big Wave is only 4.4 ABV. Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing is 6.7 ABV.
The beer is just ok. I thought the 2 of you were generous in your ratings it’s a c maybe c+ beer. If I’m going to grab a $10/6 pack of neipa style ipa I grab Sam Adams which is not world class but definitely underrated in my opinion. The Sam Adams version has the appearance of neipa, much better mouthfeel and is more tropical than Hazy little thing. You rated this much higher which is a real head scratcher.
Chris 61982 those beers aren’t widely available here in Ohio and definitely not on the shelves in grocery stores. If you don’t get any flavor from the Sam Adams there might need to revisit it because it definitely has flavor it’s not a great neipa but it is good. M-43 & Boss Tweed are now on the grocery store shelf but I don’t always feel like spending $18-$20 for a 4 pack.

@@BW-pr8qr Love me some New Park!
Awesome list of brews!
Have you ever had the Celebration ale from S.N.? It's a very nice brew they put out around the holidays.
Ralph I just finished a 6 pack of Celebration and it was pretty good as it generally tends to be.
Celebration is one of my favorite IPSs

There's a review for you!
For me one of the best widely available session hazy’s. I know what I’m getting every time which I appreciate, definitely can’t say that for others.
Great to hear SN is your pick for that.
I’m about 45 min from treehouse which is my first pick tho 😂
@@dramace11 That's a great pick!
Darwin's Beer Reviews what’s your favorite widely available hazy? Always on the look out for new stuff.
@@dramace11 New Belgium Voodoo Hazy. Sixpoint, any of their New England IPAs.

I guess that's a great venue for this volume.
Their Torpedo Extra is still one of my favorite beers
Agreed. Love me some Torpedo.
torpedo extra is just torpedo
In Ireland they have the session edition at 4.6 percent - It's ok
Yeah, this one?
Darwin - what's your BA username?

Easy go-to IPA for sure
I got a side by side video too with the new one!
I'd use the word safe to describe most of Sierra Nevada beers.
Denver Flippin' if good solid beers means safe then yeah. You don’t need to brew something with woodchuck piss to be good
But some are more delicious than others...
Best drinkable IPA out of a can. Period!
Very drinkable for sure.
Like this beer, but it is very savory.
I feel the same way. It's weird for that reason.
Its kind of a session IPA but has good flavor. I enjoy it. Enjoyed the video.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.

Yeah, those are decent choices. Firestone's hazy too!
Might be the best airport beer out there.
I don't frequent airports. What else is there for airport options?
I enjoy it , I know nothing about beer and these hops and bitterness that everyone speaks of . Taste like grapefruit beer to me lol 😆
As long as you enjoy it! That's great!
I agree that this beer is safe and average. I will say that I love most Sierra Nevada beers and the Pale Ale is an absolute classic
And Torpedo, Celebration, Ruthless Rye.
Bad name (thought it was a session IPA).
Solid brew.
People love it though!
I enjoy it too. I'll have a few, and then realize I forgot that it is 6.7% abv!
