Fantastic stuff. I always admire how detailed the weathering is when armor and aircraft guys build. And really like your detail work. subbed.

Very helpful video. I built the Quad a few years ago and wish I could have seen this first. Then maybe mine might have turned out as well as yours.

Beautiful build. Those tyres were a great call. I think this is the best quad build I've seen. A really informative presentation as well. Thanks for sharing.
I would love to know if the limber and gun are heading for the workbench at some point!

Hi Neil. Many thanks for looking in and subscribing to the channel, I really appreciate your positive comments and I'm glad the video has been of use for you. I have all the reference material, PE sets and tyres for the limber and gun but sadly other projects have taken over. It may be a few years to come but I will do them one day LOL

    Great Job, Steve!
    Only one detail got missing.
I learnt years ago, when i was interrested about the CMP - programme, that the only visible difference between Ford and Chevy was the Grille - pattern and the engine, if you opened the hood.
I can't exactly remember now which is which, but one had a vertical - Ford i believe - and the other had a diagonally patternd grille (or vice versa).
Does that hexagonal grille come out of one of the aftermarket sets? And how do they explane it?
I cannot even remember, having seen that kind of pattern anywhere on a WW2 photo at all!
I very much enjoyed Your build, as it shows a lot of inspiration and detail you usually never see!
Please keep on posting more of such videos!
    Cheers, Richard/Austria

That's very interesting about the grill Richard. It never occurred to me to check. The grill was part of Eduards PE kit. Might be worth dropping them a line and letting them know

    • @richardgolger4619

I have started to search my source to verify the grill - issue. Someplace in my archives i do have fotos of a Ford - vehicle, that was obtained by a local firebrigade near Liezen in Styria/Austria from the british Army (occupation forces). Must have been in the late 40's. The lorry retained it's original cab, but was heavily modified at the back - for obvious reason. It stood in front of a Ford dealership as a kind of gate guard in 96' and vanished since. I took pictures from the exterior and the cab - iterior.
When i find the negatives i'll digitalize them, so i can send them, if You like.
That'll be an interresting project too!
      Richard

I didn't think it was that easy, but it's rifht on wikipedia under CMP Canadian Military Pattern! There are some photos with Fords provided and at least one Chevrolet, where one can clearly see the grill - pattern!
Ford square, Chevy diamond. It allso states in the text, that aside the engines and an occasional Ford/Chevrolet badge, the two are distinguished by this kind of Grill - Pattern! Chrysler trucks came mostly with a different cab.
I am surprised, that this important detail got undetected by eduard! I guess their reference might have been a slightly careless rebuilt example of either maker.
I have allready started to investigate the fate of that firetruck with the Ford basis...

Great work Richard. This will be a great point of reference for anyone else trying to kitbash this model. Many thanks for your input and good luck in finding out about the firetruck

Hi Steve, I enjoyed watching your video,I just received the 25pdr. and Quad from tamiya. I also just ordered the Eduardo PE kit. Can u please tell me what size plastic you used for the rear roof rack, I like the way yours came out. Thanks,Mitch B.

Glad you enjoyed the build and I wish you all the best with your project. I used 05mm x 0.5mm Plastistruct square rod.

Awesome job, are those tires bigger than the original kit ?

They are roughly the same. As they are bulged at the bottom they do look a little smaller. Glad you liked the build. Many thanks
