I didn't hate this record but I wasn't immediately in love with it either. Something from this song feels like it's missing. Which is the case for a lot of Chloe Records ( in my opinion) The verses, flow and beat are great!! However she started to lose me in the chorus. Something about the chorus isn't hitting for me. However I'm one person - what's your opinion?

That's exactly what I said! Some people straight up on the internet bullies Chloe by uplifting her sister Halle. It's like these bots are pushing an agenda to hate Chloe.
Hopefully on Chloe’s next album she will work with some big time songwriters and producers like Ne-yo, Ryan Tedder , David Foster etc.

Partially agree about the chorus, but i love the song. “She only dropped bc of normani” nope been working on the album since September last year, and has coachella coming up. “She needs to stop the sexy stuff” she dropped heart felt ballads all year last year. Pick and choose…
Chloe isn't trying to compete with Normani.
Okay. Let’s clarify then. She needs “good” writers. Chloe has the voice, and the stage presence but she don’t have the hits and her persona not matching her personality brings about a cognitive dissonance that makes her hard to get into. This is important because unlike their earlier work Chloe isn’t singing about anything that will make her stand out. You need to do more than sell sex or sing about love to make it in this industry unless you have something that attracts fans. Billie eilish doesn’t have Chloe’s vocals but her song subjects are unique and so is her singing style. Olivia rodrigo users rock/punk elements in her music which makes her stand out. Muni long is a lyricist/poet which attracts fans. Same for Taylor swift. Again Chloe has vocals but she doesn’t show them much cause the songs she sings doesn’t let her. Nor is her voice all that unique like Halle’s. All that to say Chloe is missing good music and star power. She will be successful but y’all expecting her to be as big as Rihanna or Beyoncé are delusional. She has room to grow but y’all Stan’s be stunting her growth to be honest
If she wrote more songs than Halle for C&H, that might explain the low sales. Just saying. Halle is the better writer.
I actually like the song! People just need to stop being so judgemental and show support. I'm starting to dislike a lot of hateful bots who always try to bring Chloe down and uplift Halle. Something isn't right!

It's ok, definitely sounds buzzworthy. I think Chloe needs a production team that can bring the best out of her, like how Aaliyah had Timbaland n Missy, Brandy/Rodney Jerkins, Janet/Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, etc. I really want her to win!
She needs someone to help her with writing, voice control, her style and her stage presence. She gets too excited on stage and a lot of her performances are sloppy.

I agree on this! The song it not for me. I like aspects of the song. But there is something definitely missing. I also can’t relate to the song either but than again i probably not then target audience, and that’s fine. I wish her success though
Y’all need to stop bashing Muni Long…. Muni long is AMAZING!!! She’s a class ACT! Chloë needs a hit…. She doesn’t resonates with me so I don’t play all of her songs but I love Chloe’s voice! She just needs better songwriters.

Tiffany Red (that songwriter who supported Cassie) recently revealed that many of our favs like Tamar, Zendaya, Bey, take unearned publishing money from songwriters. A lot of mistreated songwriters became artists because songwriting isn’t sustainable anymore. The songwriters who would have written for Chloe who is an amazing vocalist are either competing with her and winning eg Muni Long, Victoria Monét and SZA or won’t work with her becuz they have beef with Parkwood but can’t publicly drag Beyoncé because of NDA. If Songwriters can band together to stop Ms Grammys herself from winning album of the year they can stop Chloe from finding another hit.

You can't complain about someone taking publishing money from you when you agree for them to do that in the first place contractually
You knew what you were getting into
It's the same as the record labels taking an artists publishing too
They don't sing at all either
The reality is those songs would be collecting dust somewhere

The give or take is being able to get your name out there sk you can write for more artists and if lucky transition into being a big artist like Muni Long or Victoria Monet
The issue isn't Beyonce
It's that these people sign contracts and then don't like the terms later on
Legally they have no recourse for that reason
There is way too much information out there for artists not to be woke to how the industry works
I also think its Beyonces team probably getting the best deals for her

Sia didn't want to give Beyonce publishing for a specific song and refused to do so years ago

She has never worked with Beyonce so she isn't really aware what these people were told and with whom told them
I also doubt Beyonce is even present when these contracts are signed either
Her legal team is looking after her interests
And also covering their backs with the NDAs
So she isn't going to probably be aware of what these contracts say

Beyonce is signed to Columbia
So it's very likely the label is the one doing all of this through their team
Beyonce is the artist so she's the easy target

Definitely a buzzer. I immediately felt a bit of disconnect to the song, but I did recognize that it would eventually grow on me, which it now has.
The title was a bad choice. I’ve seen people turn it into an STD conversation. I don’t think that was her intention.
Clearly her label wants her to compete with Normani. Chloe did say her album was already done a few months ago but she wasnt releasing music till now since Normani announced her new album. But im still excited!
She wants new songs to perform for Coachella. She’s drooped like 5 songs/collabs since her album last March and normani isn’t the only one dropping new music this years Beyoncé, Coco jones, Sza, Ariana Grande, Kali Uchis, and many many more are all dropping music this year

@@katherinebennett6082yes BUT Chloe announcing a week after Normani was sus, with the similar slow re-introducton to a new era and the audio clip. The audio clip is quite a Normani staple, I’ve not seen Chloe do that ever. It came across like a not well executed marketing ploy to release quickly off the hype of Normani’s album. Maybe the expectations were the comparisons would spark debate or fuel more interest, but the gp wasn’t feeding into it this time. There’s not even an official music video or proper rollout. IMO her brand is not well received by the gp and the music is sub par
I think personally, if Normani release this exact same song …. people 100% would’ve ate it up, so it really boils down to image and what we specifically want from people. But I also think N would’ve gave us different visuals and a different roll out.

I wish I liked Chloe’s music, but I just don’t. I find myself irritated by the way she exaggerates some words and how she says “baby” throughout. I think she’s talented but she doesn’t take the time she needs to really put the music together well and her sound isn’t very versatile.
I will stream the EP or album she drops though to see if anything changes for me.
I literally couldn’t stomach the debut album. It was too toxic and I found it sickening that she made people pay to make them paranoid. Asking “do you ever wonder…?” Extremely weird, toxic and low vibrational. I’m not about to pay to have someone fill me with insecurities. It’s slightly troubling that Halle looks to her for advice. Her views on relationships are not healthy.

@@Purpleboo6875Chloe’s debut album only came out in March of last year and she’s had songs on praise it a month later, shes had collabs with like 3-4 other people since her album notably one with Offset , and two Apple Music Christmas songs that were charting 3-2 months ago Chloe finished the album in September but there’s more to do after you finish an album. She’s been dropping music consistently and it’s not because of normani who was trying to release an album for 5 years Chloe’s dropping music because she wants new songs to perform at Coachella. Not to mention everybody is dropping music this year Sza, Beyoncé, Ariana Grade, Kali Uchis, Shakira and many many more it’s not just about Normani
