It comes off to me more as random. Like they didn’t know what to do with her character in dynamic with her friends so they just had her say and do crazy things sometimes.
I felt bad for Ryuji in this arc. The guy has been basiclaly bullied by Morgana since their first meeting and took it well enough. But just because he pushed back at Morgana a few times now he should apologize ? So unfair.
In all fairness, her father's death is a major turning point late in the story(I wouldn't say "almost at the end"; there's still four months and four Palaces left out of nine and eight, respectively). I think she's used fairly well; she deals with her issues in her father in the Okumura arc, sympathizes with Makoto's quest to redeem a family member in Sae's arc, and has to deal with her feelings about her father's killers through the rest of the game.
People say that Haru doesn't get introduced until the end of the game, but she shows up before Futaba at the fireworks festival. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though

This reminds me of the video where a dude put all of haru’s ultra psychopathic lines over Marianne from fire emblem 3 houses because they had the same english VA. It’s extra funny because in 3 houses Marianne is easily one of the meekest, most low self-esteem (though kinda justifiable with her backstory) characters I’ve ever seen
Xanthe Huynh also voices Kanon Tachibana, the leader of the Variabeauties from NEO: TWEWY. Kanon's rather confident and assertive, quite unlike Marianne or Haru's outward facade.
Xanthe also voiced Hanayo Koizumi from Love Live!, another shy, quiet and reserved character. But seriously, imagine an aspiring school idol having homicidal tendencies.
I love how sumire is like "I don't wanna suspect you of anything, Senpai" while she's surrounded by like 10 girls who got clapped by our lovely Pog-kun.
In gameplay, I will definitely pick Haru on Lavenza's fight (The most difficult boss fight in P5R). Since: 1. Psychic damage is good to do technical damages in 2nd phase 2. High chance critical shot skill is good in 3rd phase Also, spoiler alert in comment:
Spoiler Alert If you reject to love her, Haru will express her sadness instead of just saying that "That's fine, we are good friend forever!" like the other girls. Unfortunately, she is a late joiner so she gets less focus by players comparing to Ann, Makoto or Futaba.

Considering she was in school from the very beginning, it's a big failure in writing to not allow any interactions with her until the end of the game. And yes, she also barely cares about her father's death and his killer compared to Futaba caring about her mother. Granted, it's possible that she hated her father for his actions and therefore didn't care much, but in this case writing should have said so instead of dropping the topic entirely.

Haru tends to replace Ryuji on my teams after she joins. I especially like her One Shot Kill boosted with Snipe and Cripple, which makes for an excellent single target attack.
Haru, Ryuji, Ann is my goto team. And I swap Haru out for Yusuke when I need the Goat melee duo. Ryuji's never left the spot on my team, the physical boost is too good for the way I build my personas
Honestly, my biggest issue with Haru isn that she doesn't learn Riot Gun. Like, she's the gun skill character that only learns 2 guns skills... out of 6. And if it's base Persona, there's only 4 gun skills! But instead let's give Riot Gun to Akechi for some fucking reason.
honestly, if it wasn''t for Riot Gun and Debilitate, Akechi would literally have no use in a party as he is. which is sad, he could have had Black Viper + Megidolaon for consistency, or just keep his Shadow Element with Maeigaon (which is actually useful in the last palace!)
My favorite persona girl truly regretful she’s the last member to join especially considering her amazing skills it’s so weird you don’t befriend her sooner since she also use the rooftop for her plants.

I can't believe it took me this long to realize. Makoto and Haru, the oldest of the bunch, are the most brutal of the Thieves in a fight. Haru's smashing shadows with an axe and high explosives and Makoto is straight up beating them to death or popping heads with a magnum..
In terms of gameplay and purpose in the team, she's the female version of yusuke; can deal both elemental and phys dmg BUT can provide support and buffs to the team If you have her 3rd tier persona (Lucy), she has a skill called life wall which reflects/blocks any skill attacks of opponents except almighty.
My first ever playthrough of Persona 5 I managed to max out every single confidante except I never unlocked Haru's somehow. Every scene she showed up I just said "Wait, who are you?"
Honestly, kinda wish they just revamped Haru instead of adding Yoshizawa in Royal. She already fulfills that archetype, and beside the 3rd semester it really would have been great to just have a more fleshed out character instead of a new one that's sooo special
I think while having more development is nice it would be really awkward for her to be the focus of the last dungeon especially sharing that focus with Joker and Akechi

Haru's gun skills are amazing. One hit kill has decent crit chance and that makes her very effective against most targets in the game. Her strengths on psy ontop of her semi decent magic stat allows for easy tech setups. However, nothing to boost crit outside of accessories and no riot gun...or even any AoE gun skill outside of Triple Down hampers effectiveness. No charge also hampers her effectiveness against bosses. She's got potential, but without charge, she lacks a punch. Needs to be paired with Kasumi for her crit booster to be extremely effective.
Excuse you, Ann, Makoto and Haru are my main team. Their buffs are great, especially considering Joker is the only legitimate damage dealer. The only exception is Yusukes third evolution exclusive full party accuracy/evasion boost. But I do honestly love Haru, definitely top tier.
You're missing out on the funny victory animation in which Haru kinda sits. When using her swimsuit costume it looks like she's gonna poop, lol. Other than that - nothing, Haru isnt needed for anything particular in the game.

So I'm watching this after using Haru in my party the majority of the game (at least after you get her anyways) and having joker romance her (and staying loyal to her) and I've only just now realized that I somehow never had the showtime with her and Makoto activate, just Morgana's....
Both use technical damage moves, so they don't really synergise when you think of your team critically. That being said, very rarely do I inflict mind status ailments (confuse, fear, brainwash etc) intentionally so haru was only given a spot in my team alot of the time because of waifu status. Yusuke always had a spot because of the same bias.
Can we go over how Haru is the only person in JRPG to shoot multiple shots out of a one shot grenade launcher? The only other people I can think that can do that is the Payday crew.
I'm rather curious of what everybody Else's party looks like. the vast majority of mine was ryuji Makoto and Ann although when it got to the third semester in the party regrouped it became yoshizawa Akechi and Makoto mostly because of the true Awakenings between yoshizawa and Makoto and the abilities that they get are highly beneficial to the rest of the party don't get me wrong everybody else is true Awakenings were grams too but my party Staples became yoshizawa Makoto interchangeably depending and Akechi
i always felt like in story boarding Haru was going to be the Traitor, and Akechi was just gunna be a red Harring 1) She is Under Developed, like she never was intended to stay a party member 2) the "Daddy issues" motivation makes alot more sense on her then Akechi 3) the bait and switch of Her going back to kill her father would be way more impactful afterwards, then "of course Akechi was waiting for us to weaken him" 4) Her Sadistic lines in Mementos are out of place, granted they're great, but it's odd that this character trait is hidden... like this was intended as an easter egg/foreshadow if you grinded in mementos... 5) her Confidant is the only one that Requires a Maxed Social Stat to *Start* {OG P5} almost like they didn't know where to put her Confidant 6) on top of that her Gardening perk is so pointless for how late you get her
i forgot a thing 7) the whole cast's personas are Anti-Heros. (even the Necromonicon) except Haru's Mi'lady, it is based on a Villain.. a non-redeemable Villain..
Why are the scripted moments in the "what you're missing out on" video? Probably there to be filler because there is not enough actual content you would miss out on.
The duality of Haru being this kind-hearted posh girl who is also violent and sadistic in battle is what makes her best girl

IMO, Haru is facing the most tough situation among the game. She suffered when she was small and still suffer when her father's palace was gone.
