Just a tip. If you do not have a table with the sort of edge, Sarah indicated, you can attach your embroidery clamp to a board that is wide enough to sit on your table at least 6 inches or so and also stick out over your table edge. Have the board be long enough that it sticks out to the right and left a foot or two along the table. Then you can clamp the whole board to your table with any ordinary wood type clamp. (By having the board stick out to the right and left of where your embroidery hoop is clamped, you will leave enough room to attach the board to the table without the wood clamps getting in your way.) Hope that makes sense. Basically, attach clamp to board that fits. Attach board to table.
Finally getting my table clamp! I've been struggling with shoulder and elbow pain making the embroidery part of my plush sewing a nightmare : ( I made some money through gaming in the mistplay app so I can finally splurge and get my clamp and some other things! I'm really fond of the stretcher bars.
H i Sarah Just received my embroidery hoop that attaches to the table and I love it! it is so much more relaxing and enjoyable. And I havent pricked my finger even once, Anyway love this product, oh and it came in the mail Really fast which was nice. Thank you!
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery Hi Sarah, Was wondering if you do tutorials on Brazillian Rose's, I'm having a heck of a time getting them to look right. Anyway was just wondering.🙂
I’m so excited about this 💪🏼⭐️👏🏼 I’ve messaged you via your website a little while ago and cannot wait to order. 👌🏼🙏🏼 Right now though, it’s bedtime in Australia! 🇦🇺 😴🥱 I really have to stop watching your videos and sleep! 😂
I’m from the United States and was wondering if the shipping is high on orders. I love watching your videos. I have been getting into hand embroidery lately.
Even though the embroidery hoop can be held with one hand, would you recommend this frame for punch needle since it requires constant pressure on the fabric? Is there any alternative model that doesn’t require attaching it on a table? I like to work on a couch:) Thank you in advance!
I've not done punch needle Helena so I can't answer your question about this specifically, but I do use two frames in my videos to keep the embroidery extra steady. You can buy other attachments if you prefer different sitting positions, I suggest a seat frame or floor stand
I so love watching you and absorbing all that you do. I love your set up but I find that I can't sit at a table or desk due to neck and shoulder issues and need to sit in an arm chair for a bit more neck support do you have any suggestions on a good set up for sitting this way as I currently use a hoop and hold it but really need to find a better way. I've been researching and looking but yet to try anything yet. thanks
I think you need some sort of floor stand Lesley with a moveable arm on it you can clamp your frame to. I can't think of where to get one immediately but maybe our online community can help, I've put up a question on the community page so keep your eye on that!
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery Thanks for that Sarah I had a feeling that might be the case, they are so expensive so I think I have a holiday project for hubby coming up lol
I've seen you use a frame that is held on with what looks like tacks. How do you do that? Why do you do it that way? And is that kind of frame readily available or easily made?
Video on that here Frances: ua-cam.com/video/-M2YnDUx5KQ/v-deo.html Frames are available in our shop here: www.sarahhomfray.com/myshop/cat_264747-Embroidery-Equipment.html
The jaws of the table clamp open up to 3.5cm (inch and a half) so they should hold a Qsnap frame fine (see the website item description for all the measurements of the table clamp and please check the barrel will fit your table : www.sarahhomfray.com/myshop/prod_4538062-Versatile-table-clamp.html). I recommend in the item description that you use one clamp for frames up to about 30cm (12inches) and two for frames over this size. I use two clamps on the video for extra stability when filming.
Hello Sarah, is it difficult to stitch with one hand above and one hand below the hoops ? Which one above ? Waht about precision ? What embroidery technique can be used with this type of embroidery loom ? Thanks in advance for your answer
I have a question please, when you start your actual sewing on your project do you start stitching on the top , middle or bottom of your design ? Example when painting you start at top so your hand doesn’t mix your paint colors.
It's more about back to front than top to bottom Fludrby! It does depend on what technique you are working but if you have a layered design (with design elements on top of other elements) then start with the elements that are behind first and work your way to what's on top. This will give you the neatest edges as you aren't squeezing things in.
Thank you very much for your beautiful videos Sorry for a silly question , will hand embroidery and using this clamp work with leather? What kind of needle would I require to embroidery on leather?
You can buy specific needles for leather, funnily enough they are called "leather needles". The tend to be thicker and have a sharper, triangular point that enable the needle to pass through the hide.
The Q snap frames are plastic Beverley? I also notice that they have a round cross section; they will fit in the table clamp yes, you may have to just wrap something around the frame to make sure it doesn't slip (as its shiny and round!)

Do you send to Wales 🏴 in UK 🇬🇧?
I love a hoop and both hands free but have no access to a table. Open to suggestions. I wonder if this will clip onto a lamp stand.
You can buy seat frames and floor stands for them Elaine.
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery thank you for your reply Sarah. I really appreciate you.
You could perhaps clamp it to one of those "over the bed/knees" type of table? Like you see in hospitals.
I am interested in the seat frame version, which has the same kind of clamp....

Can you buy just the barrel clamp part?

It takes practice but is much faster when you get used to it, I use my dominant hand underneath as that is the one I have most control with
