myahalanna AKA the drunk spastic uncle with nervous energy LOL pls ignore me, thank you .. ♡₊˚ anyway um LAURA !! ur the most thorough, hardworking gal ever - we are so eternally grateful that you are advocating for families such as our own .. thank you for inviting us onto your podcast with open arms .. all the love in the world. whenever you need us, we'll be there.
You made me cackle so much girl. I’m so incredibly blown away by all of your courage. Anything you all need In there. We are in the same community, we need to back eachother up, and I’ll do whatever I can to support you all.
Ive been a fan of Myah’s for years. Its great to hear her family share their stories. I cannot imagine the health problems her siblings suffer from aswell :( I have heard the many things Myah goes through with her diet and skin breakouts. thank you so much to all for sharing and being transparent. I hope these amazing young people keep connecting with distant siblings :) !
Absolutely bonkers. I’ve never put much thought into sperm donors and I don’t think most people have, I am proud of everyone for telling their stories.
I feel so bad for the DCP community. Thank you for this podcast and for the education you are providing. If it wasn't for you/ this podcast i wouldn't know that there are so many issues with this industry.
Thank you for sharing this Laura, it was enlightening to listen to. You all seem such wonderful people, and I'm sorry this happened to you guys, that's way too many siblings. I'm kinda terrified about how many siblings I might have, not gonna lie. Thank you for being brave enough to come talk and wishing all of you the best
I’m so grateful they were ready to come forward and talk about their experience. We need people to understand what this life is like and that it is a reality.
Wow, this was so informative, yet so sad. It’s so wrong on so many levels. I hope that this has helped some of the members of the pod. Btw, I would recommend further genetic testing to make sure that y’all keep up with possible complications. I know that Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome can lead to cardiac issues. I have learned a bit about it because it was speculated that my dad had EDS or Marfan Syndrome, which is possibly connected to him passing from an aortic dissection 4 years ago. I am going to get genetic testing soon, which I recommend for anyone who possibly has genetic connections to certain disorders. That’s not to say that everyone has to worry, but I want people to stay informed and cautious about their health.
Hey, has anyone in this pod been tested for cystic fibrosis? I only know a cursory amount but the increased mucus, cysts, and digestive issues all track. I would like to note that I am not a doctor or anything, I’ve just been researching this as a possibility for myself and the cluster of symptoms caught my attention.
I am only 15 minutes in and listening to them talk about the excema and food sensitivities. I have the same type issues, especially with tomato reaction. I have a laundry list of foods that I can't eat because of food allergies and sensitivities. They need to get tested for Leaky Gut. How it was explained to me is that the lining of the stomach lets out food particles out into the bloodstream which then reacts like the food is an invader. Then when you eat the food, your body throws an immune response (allergic reaction). It may not be something that they have, but it may help narrow down a cause. I know how frustrating autoimmune issues and especially food issues can be, and wouldn't wish them on anyone.
Do you think it would be beneficial for a child if their sperm donor maintained regular contact with them? Do you believe the benefits would outweigh the potential drawbacks? Thank you.
They should look into hEDS. It’s genetic and generally affects AFAB folks more than AMAB folks. And they have many co conditions that are common with it.

OMG this was a NJ bank!? Of freaking course! (I grew up in NJ)
Happy to see you sharing your story!!
Thank you Rich❤

I was half expecting that the "accurate" detail from the donor profile was that he was male.
Yessss 🙌🏼❤
Uhm, anaphylaxis can mimic eczema rashes. That’s something to take to an allergist after visiting the ER. 😬
The hilarious of me knowing it before they said 😂

Wow umm? That dna is strong!?! (Yes I live in NJ)
