My issue is the starter solenoid clicks each time i turn the key that's an issue but the bigger issue is figuring out how to remove the starter solenoid, it's under the starter so i either have to figure out how to remove the lower cowl or another method so i can take it off

You should have shown the meter screen. Most cheap meters do not beep. Some people won't know what you're doing.

My boat, decided to stop trying to turn over and now when Iturn the key, there is just one click noise coming from the electric box. Battery is new and fully charged. Not sure what it is or what to do. A lot of places are super busy and I don't want them having my boat sitting there all summer.

I completely understand your situation.. not fun. If you jump the 2 main positive leads on the solenoid with a heavy guage wire your motor should turn over. If not, check your connections with the starter motor, and also check your ground wires .. my older evinrude wouldn’t start and the neutral safety switch was bad.. after running a direct ground to the small connection on the solenoid to the block, it fires right up now..

How did you get the solenoid off the engine. I am having a hard time getting to the 2 bolts that hold it on. Is there a trick or tips you could give me. Thanks.

Yeah these old outboards can sometimes be pretty frustrating.. my only advice would be to try tightening the bolts first, just a little bit, try not to over do it.. the idea is to get them to move.. if that doesn’t work I’m assuming you’ve already used some pb blaster or something similar to try and get some of the corrosion off?? Sometimes bolts are just too stuck and you need to break them off, remove the part and drill/tap the new hole.. believe me I’ve been in your situation before and it’s not fun, but it is fixable so try not to get too frustrated, be patient and don’t be afraid to try getting some help if you need it.. good luck with your engine and thanks for checking out my UA-cam channel!!

Hey, can I test mine without taking it off the engine?

Yes, just jump the two big positive leads on the solenoid. If the engine turns over, you know the solenoid is bad

I bought a cen-tech 11 function digital multimeter with audible continuity. Is there a specific kind I need or would that work?

@@JonnyAreo I’m sure that should work fine

I hate to bother you again. I haven't even tried fixing it yet. So much going on. I'm not sure what the settings are supposed to be on, on the multimeter. I never even used one before.
