Thanks for the idea. I been "window shopping" for ideas on bench seating for our kitchen under the window (trapazoid shape area) and this one actually looks kinda doable for my noob builder self. A lot less reliant on "Perfect Measurements" than the build box and then install designs sort of thing. Probably wouldn't be too aweful hard to add drawers instead of hinge top. Anyway, thanks for easy to see/follow vid. AND it wasn't a long vid. Short and to the point.
This is an awesome video I love how it gets right to the point it's sped up to be 2 minutes long instead of 15 minutes like every other DIY video. Great job!
Looks very inexpensive but really beautiful. I was hoping you would put fake drawer knobs just to make it look even more presentable. Looks amazing though
I noticed at the beginning that on the wall at the far right there was an outlet that was behind your bench. Can I ask what you did with that outlet? I am looking to do this in my kitchen but it will cover two outlets and I’m not sure what to do with them.
I would have just left the vent as it was on the wall or take it off if needed and then drilled holes on the panel like rectangle area at the center, even the holes will be raised off the ground it won't make too much difference in airflow And would look better without spoiling the look and the outer Frame
What a great dad to allow your daughter to help rather than shooing her away! Thanks for the great video. I think you may have changed my mind away from making drawers to the top openings.
Thanks! Always a teaching moment for the little ones. This was my first project so I figured the two lids were easier, and they definitely were. I got some good tips from other youtube vids as well.
nice build! A little thought and creativity and you could have gotten a nicer vent grate, and centered it horizontally and vertically in the build. Would have taken a bit more work, but I think it could look amazing! Not trying to down play your build, just a suggestion - for future projects, and others watching :)
@@323baseballa What is MDF please? I will have cabinets installed soon and want to build a natural wood seat/topper. What type of wood should I use? Again, what is MDF? Thank you for this awesome video! Yaay you!
so the things you added besides the original frame are all trims? for the look? I am just trying to understand. sorry if this seems dumb. Us girls are not very good with building things.
Love the finished product! Thank you!
Brilliant Project. and build video, though in time lapse is quite lucid. Happy New Year.
Very nice job! I always see people make boxes then install them, building the bench in place this way was a much better idea
Thanks! I like to build in place because I didn't want to build a box, then work it into place. This bench isn't going anywhere for a LONG TIME.
Turned out beautiful and loved the music too!
Great Tune!!! Great Work!! ❤️🙌
This turned out so great! Found you through comments on another bench build. Thanks for sharing inspiration man!
Thank you! it was fun building it and nice to see it turned out so well.
Thanks for the idea.

Looks awesome, nice job!

What material did you use to extend the vent?
Great job
Absolutley georgous
Awesome turnout!
One of the best DIY videos I have seen in UA-cam, unfortunately I can give you only one like.

Only thing i didnt like was the vent, but it needed to be there so you couldnt help overall good job dude.
Beautiful project! Was the vent extension just wood?
😊👍

The outlets are inside of the bench. I left a discreet opening at the far end so that you could still get a cable in there to plug something in.
The end result is def better than the sketch :)
You could’ve added a duct for the vent instead of the wood I think it would’ve been more professional but overall great work 👍🏼

I want the exact seat but with storage.

Do you have dimensions, shopping list and cut list?
Did you attach the bottom to the floor? Just wood screws?
Yes it is anchored to the ground with regular 2 1/2” wood screws.
What kind of wood did you use for the top of your bench?
looks like MDF but I was gonna ask the same thing
nice build!

Material cost?
What material did you use for the top? MDF or plywood?
TRAVIS08P yes, I used MDF for everything other than the 2x4 framing.

What is the actual height of the bench
It is 20" tall
so the things you added besides the original frame are all trims? for the look? I am just trying to understand. sorry if this seems dumb. Us girls are not very good with building things.
H.Y H. Yup! Just trim boards at the top and bottom and the smaller pieces in between. I cut them all from a couple of 4x8 boards.
HOW NUCH WOOD DO YOU NEED?
some 2x4s and mdf board is all. You'll have to do your own measurements for your needs.
All that spaces wasted. Why not make a lid for storage inside?
There are 2 lids. Did you get the end of the video? 1:26
