My daughter sent me a picture of her having breakfast in bed in France in 1988. She looks so happy. Glad she chose to live there. I’m a bit partial, I was born there. Got to meet Quincy Jones when I worked at Mercury too. We spoke in French the whole time. He lived in Paris for 7 years. Always so glad to hear Nina’s songs in movies, commercials, etc. 😊🤗💝👏🏻
Nina Simone had a fruitful heart that gathering love as she Nina found her ground love of all peoples black and white. Martin Luther King assassinated had a great impact . I for one shall never forget Nina Simone . When the angel of life took her by the hand to a more peaceful place with GOD.
Her childhood home is still standing in Tryon North Carolina but other than that and a figurine of her in downtown Tryon, that's about all there is. Her home was supposed to be made into a tourist attraction, but that never came about. The Nina Simone Plaza in Tryon isn't worth stopping to see. It's about the size of three car spaces and just has a figure of her at a keyboard and a plaque. That's about it.
