Ninjutsu without weapons is just Taijutsu.
Taijutsu is basically any unarmed style of combat - even boxing or wrestling qualifies as Taijutsu.
So, technically, Raven was using Taijutsu - a stupid brawling style of fighting, yes, but Taijutsu all the same. Hence, Ninjutsu.
@@Kncperseus Perhaps in the most literal sense this could be perceived as true, but there is a fluidity a stylization yet not a rigidness to taijutsu that is not present here. One could say wing chun is taijutsu but if a fighter were to claim they were using kungfu throwing out boxing punches with static footwork they probably wouldn't be taken seriously either.
Capoeira makes me think of Parkour with its fluidity and ability to adapt and redirect according to the situation. I love both of the forms!

I've training Parkour specifically but not the one you're indicating.
It's actually what you call Freerunning, with all the flips, twists and spirals.
The moves actually derive from Capoeira and Wushu as far as we've (well, my friends have trained, I specifically train in pure parkour) trained.

did 2 of them, actually, but yes, this is not tekken, this is some kinda vandamme 90s fighting, but with no naked muscular guys but stylized cosplayers.

Anyone that has ever played any Tekken game can tell you, Eddie Gordo is a fucking powerhouse.
Much like Drunken Fist, Capoeira's unpredictable moves wreak havoc on an opponent's mind and body. Being able to dodge and launch strikes from awkward angles, demoralizes an opponent by throwing-a-wrench in their strategy.
IMO, Eddie should've won this fight. I have countless reason more about why but I'll leave the research up to you about Capoeira.

I think its more-so based on lore. In the story, Raven can have a stalemate with Heihachi, who survived a large explosion point blank, while Eddy is fodder compared to them.
Bro it all depends. You could be the best Eddie player in your country, but the world's top Raven player would probably give you a run for your money. It depends on the player. Every fighter in Tekken is nuts and seriously powerful if played correctly. Go watch some world championship matches here on youtube to see

Capoeira isn't really a ground and pound art, nor is it so much a form looking to sit there and trade punches. People who know Capoeira can easily see that this was rigged or written for Raven to win rather than highlight the art forms.

Esse Lateef do Brasil é o melhor capoeirista do mundo e quase sempre perde. Sempre começa ele arrasando e dando um show e depois numa reviravolta do nada ele apanha até o fim. O cara fez o personagem mais apelão do jogo mas quando chega no filme acontece uma coisa nada a ver com o personagem . Se fosse na vida real o Eddy acabaria com o americano do jeito apelão que ele é, todo mundo sabe que no jogo o Eddy vence geral . Os capoeiristas quase nunca ganham nos filmes como se a capoeira fosse uma bobeira que todos conseguem vencer. Por que será que esses roteiristas desprezam a capoeira sempre botando ela por baixo como uma coisa fácil de ser vencida? Quem acha isso deixa o like. Nada a ver essa luta.

No próprio jogo o Eddy é um dos mais apelões, eu curto muito jogar com o Eddy online, faço muito nego chorar, pena que não posso mais jogar tekken revolution, na época estava chegando ao 30º dan. acho que era assim que se chama a qualidade de nível, mas não lembro o nome, passei muito tempo impacado em Seiryu, algo assim rsrs...

Lateef Crowder is the real deal Capoeria fighter - Unsure if he was the real life inspiration for Eddy Gordo, but if you want a real life Eddy here it is. - Wesley Snipe's characters Blade and Simon Phoenix inspired the Raven character and Wesley Snipes himself has trained in Capoeira.

That is impossible eddy first appeared in tekken 3 released in 1997 , lateef crowder begin activity in 2000. The guy who captured the moves is marcelo caveirinha. What may have inspired the japaneses to add a capoeira character in tekken 3 may have been the movie the quest, by van damme. That has a capoeira guy as good as lateef. Movie sort of inspired by bloodsport that inspired mortal kombat, based on a lies of frank dux that even tried to sue van damme. Anyways another movie that has a great chance of making the japanese wanting capoeira in tekken may have been the movie only the strong with mark dacascos. A popular capoeira movie released in 93, just few years before tekken 3.

Capoeira is a style learned and taught by and to slaves who, in some parts of the world revolted. Some escaped, some won, some died,but it's not something America will want to glorify. That their slaves were learning right under their noses. And it was mostly big in South America. Therefore, won't be a movie of a style meant fighting disguised as dance. It will be incorporated, but not headlined

This movies backhand was how they had perfect casting under a really really shtty tekken-sub plot.
Depois da "tesoura" e pontapé na cara dificilmente alguém levanta com a mesma moral para continuar a luta....e mesmo para o caso das excepções a meia lua de compasso resolveria o resto. Mas como se viu o roteirista apenas se focou nas acrobacias e não na luta em si.
