HUNTING NOT HORSESHOES - An Archery Antelope Hunt
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 сер 2022
- They say close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, the same could be said for an archery antelope hunt. With less than ideal conditions, Trail is pushed to explore every method to try and get close enough to one of the West’s most iconic animals on an Arizona archery antelope hunt.

On a preview of this film, I commented about the great timing. Today, After three failed stalks and a bogus wind from left field. As well as another group of hunters presenting pressure, this made me feel okay knowing Trail as well as I had some hard hunting. I feel sorry for you not filling the tag, but I appreciate the film and showcasing that even the greats don’t fill all there tags as people assume.
Thanks, Brett!
Same thing happened to my dad and I in 5A in 2016. Rain boogered all the water, countless stalks, never a chance to draw back. My dad miraculously drew again the next year in 10 and we sealed the deal on a 80" buck at 45 yards sitting water on opening. The dichotomy of antelope hunting with a bow is so wild. Great effort, keep it up.
Congrats on the buck! Glad it ended up working out for you guys. Thanks for watching. 🔥
I had the same hunt. Same unit (2022). Sure was tough. Really hoping to see a red arrow.
3rd day I was lucky to have tagged out. Great vid.
Congrats! Thanks for watching.
Always love Trail hunting antelope. Great edit. Really love the footage with other hunters and spectators, gives a good perspective of hunting variables. Just good story telling accompanied with superb cinematography and b roll compositions.
The GOHUNT guys and their videos are my favorite here lately two thumbs up 👍👍!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
I can’t get enough of Trail hunting videos. Fantastic little film guys!!!
We can't either! More to come 💪
Really the enjoyed the videography and editing on this film, and I agree with Trail 100%, tortilla's are definitely the gift that keeps on giving lol.
Thanks for watching, Driston!
I think their filming and editing are definitely top notch
Thanks you Trail for sharing your Antelope hunt. We all have hunts that don't go are way. It says alot of who you are Trail you share the good and the bad God's Blessings on all your adventures
Nothing more fun than antelope hunting. I’m socked to see you dealing with an off the bow quiver set up. Would enjoy seeing a video on how you come to this conclusion.
Always gotta love the cows being all over ya in AZ. My first ever hunt was for Mule Deer on some BLM land and the area we set up in had cows all over, even coming up and checking out our tent at night xD
Great hunt guys!
Gets me jacked to draw an antelope tag someday… Good news? I’ve started to see a few speed goats in Washington! Maybe the populations will grow and we’ll be able to hunt them some day!
Great video always love the hunting thank you for sharing!
Thanks, Michael!
Love archery hunting pronghorn, great video. I always use knee pads and leather gloves, it seems like I have to do a lot of crawling and there are so many ground level cacti.
Thanks for watching!
That’s a cool tent . I really need one for this season
Nice and raw! Good stuff. 👍🏻
More to come!
Thanx
Definitely been there…spot-n-stalk antelope can be tough! Thanks for the video and keep up the great job.
Thanks for watching!
Great hunt ! On to the next one !
You got that right!
Nice!
that was a great video and i hope you will finaly get your antelope in your next hunt i wish you luck for it
Thanks, Ben!
Wow, what a grind... dream hunt but man is it tuff !
Gotta keep grinding man! Thanks for watching.
Here we go!
👀
Man it's tough in the open. Set deek out and tie a bush to a stake cut the distance🤣
Great stuff!!!
Thanks, Kevin!
You running the total peep hip quiver? If so how do you like it?
Thanks for sharing your experience of hunting pronghorn in a state where drawing such a tag 🏷 is the same odds as a bighorn sheep hunt.
As you said even those long awaited hunts that take double digit points to draw doesn’t guarantee a dead animal.
I want to hunt pronghorn in every state that I can DIY public land style no matter what weapon type gets me a tag 🏷 the quickest. But those quarter of a percent draw odds in AZ make me want to scratch it off my list.
Hey, thanks for watching Forrest! We are wishing you luck this season.
@@GOHUNT you are welcome 🙏 and I try not to miss an original.
Thank you 🙏 as well. I will be hunting in my home state of West Virginia once again trying to arrow my first deer 🏹🦌 plus I may get my PA license and try public land there too. Would be sweet to see a legal black bear 🐻 in range while in season as well. 🍖🥩😋
Awesome, what are you using to hold your quiver on your leg?
Fun video, very well done! I had the same question about the quiver... Details please!
Same. Could never get a set up as such right.
Total peep hip quiver attachment
@@trailkreitzer9163 Awesome. Thanks!
@@trailkreitzer9163 Awesome, thanks, I thought so, but couldn't tell. I love mine!
How did Trail attach the quiver to his hip? I like the setup. Something he came up with himself or did he use a product?
Hi there, it's a Total Peep Hip Quiver attachment with a Tight Spot quiver.
Close is for hand grenades as well! Tough hunt.
Can't help but laugh when setting up the blind guess cause been there done that and yes if you get to actually find and stalk the game it was successful 👍
Trail is the best!
100%
Way she goes sometimes. Good film 🎥
Thanks!
What is the ground blind your using!?!
Hi Chad, it's a few years old but it's a Xenex Ascent ground blind. Really nice blinds, highly recommended!
Any info on the 4 runner build in this video?
It's a TRD OffRoad with TRD Pro wheels. Aside from that it looks like all stock as far as I could tell.
Hey Trail what was that quiver belt attachment you were using for this hunt?
Hi there, it's a Total Peep Hip Quiver attachment with a Tight Spot Quiver!
@@trailkreitzer9163 thank you looks like it might come in handy!
Hey Trail, was that the total peep hip quiver attachment? How do you like it?
Hi Jared, yes it's a total peep hip quiver with a Tight Spot quiver. I like it and it's been good for me. I am not aware of anything else on the market that would compare. It's hand in that you can attach a Tight Spot Dovetail attachment on the hip quiver and on your bow and you can switch back and forth depending on what works best for each situation. The only time I have been annoyed with the hip quiver is when I've sat down to glass or putting on and taking off your pack, but like I said with that dovetail attachment I can just pop it off real quick. Hope that helps!
@@trailkreitzer9163 thanks for the detailed response. Just what I needed, was trying to make a decision on it and I think I’m gonna pull the trigger on it. Seems perfect for an open country spot and stalk mule deer hunt coming up. Thanks again Trail! Good luck this fall.
that's differently me fighting my blind lol
Nice try guys hunting speed goats like that is over the top hard. Thanks for sharing 👍
ok. I think y'all have one of the best filming and editing styles to tell good stories. Maybe just get rid of that Chris guy and you will be over 100k in no time. lol just kidding. I love how y'all have different styles which makes for more interesting content instead of just the same repeat. especially the podcast
What a great showcase by Trail. Tough hunting but persistent as ever. Humbling yet it only fuels the fire! @the_skull_keeper
Thanks! It was a tough one.
@@GOHUNT those tough hunts make the successful hunts even more sweeter ✌🏼
