Vocoder is one of the most fun and interesting effects for vocals. Especially for ambient, electronic and hip hop music, it is a very familiar trick to make vocals seem robotic and trippy. This tutorial shows you how to quickly set up your vocal tracks with the EVOC 20 PS vocoder in Logic Pro X. It's not as hard as it looks!
Thanks for watching!

Thank you!!! Finally got it! Super well explained and I can't wait to start fooling around with it! Awesome work.
Love it! Thanks for the kind words!
You're welcome. Well deserved!
thank u! couldn't figure it out until your video.
Love it! So glad I could help
Thanks❇
Thanks a lot brotha .. so now i can use my vocoder sound from Logic X
You say "play your keyboard", ...just willy nilly?, or does what you play matter?, saying "play your keyboard" is kinda open ended , right?. can you clarify? thanks so much!
Well it depends entirely on your song and what you want the vocoder to do: do you want a melody line that is vocoded? Or accompanying harmonies? Or even just the chord progression of the song underneath the vocal. I generally use the latter, I will play a vocoder section of the song’s chords and then have a dry copy of the vocal on top of that. It really depends on what you want it to do. Once the thing is setup, the power is in your imagination.
@@SojournerTracks thanks!
If I arm the audio track and the evoc track simultaneously can I live record the performance rather than having to apply the effect to an already existing vocal?
I have never tried that but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. You would only need the 2 tracks, like you said, an audio with mic input and the evoc for your keyboard. Try it and let me know!
So I'm not sure what's going on, but when I pull up the Evoc 20, there is no option anywhere to select the input for the sidechain. idk if they've changed the interface and didn't bother to tell anyone, but if anyone has advice on where I can find this info now, I'd appreciate it!
In the top right corner of the window there is a small grey bar. Try clicking that to expand the window.
@@SojournerTracks oh god. I just had to enable complete features, this is so embarrassing. Bless you!
It could happen to anyone :) Now you’ll have access to all kinds of fun stuff!
i cant even find evoc where you did
Do you have the whole Logic Sound library installed?
