If I'm not mistaken, the shape of the flag is similar to most liberation movements like Cuba, Puerto Rico, catalonia... So i guess it wants to give more of a "active movement" vibe to the flag.
While I now understand why race is in the pride flag, I will always see it as the visual representation of someone saying that LGBT stands for "Lesbian, Gay, Black, and Trans".

48:00 I have a bachelors in IT from OIT and I agree. It was a colossal waste of $30k. I barely learned jack all that I couldn't have learned on my own, and no one would hire me even with the degree without prior experience because everything is so specialized that colleges don't even touch on what you actually need (for example, does your company use AWS, Azure, Google, etc). Now I work in procurement lol.
As a vet, half the time I feel I want to tear down every American flag I see. Unless it’s the flag I took along on my military career including deployments. And instead of half heartedly saying “thank you for your service”. I disagree with your opinion on the progress flag, but to each their own. I do think the evolution should stop at a certain point. If a new one is introduced, cool but it just gets added to the list. Then, like the present flag code, have an order of precedent on flying pride flags. On another note, I'm trying to get into cybersecurity, cool that you're going to Defcon!

Lol I got pretty badazz gaming pc for 1000 last year : ) And I'm a total dumb dumb on pc parts and what they do and how to get the best deals and possibly making your own rig etc etc blah blah blah so for all I know I over paid and got screwed. So that sux maybe lol. But I do love this thing. Played elden ring and cyber punk perfectly! It did play Calisto protocol like total trash and I wanted to jump off a bridge with that crap experience but I'm pretty sure my pc was good enough to handle it... It was just a trash pc launch lolz. The ps5 version worked wayyy better apparently and this thing is more powerful than a ps5 sooo... Sux to be me right? But yeah I got as many tabs open as he does right now and it's fine. This 16 ram I think it's called lets comps run smoother with more crap going on. Older comps tend to have 8 ram I think. If I remember correctly when I was getting all tech nerdy to find out how to get into modern pc gaming. Perhaps I'm full of it I can't remember lolz. This thing does get kinda hot and noisy sad to say but I usually blow it up on my big screen and play on the bed cus it's more comfy and the picture is way kooler looking being all super big and stuff on my 65 inch : ) So I'm not close to the noisy loud pc so it's not a big deal since it's on the op side of the room from where I'm relaxing. I heard you can get really fancy rigs with built in air conditioning water cooling type crap but I heard it's pretty pricey : ( And that linus tech tips guy once showed off a rig that's like 7-10 grand and gets real hot and loud but can run like every game ever on super sick settings and it's just wild. Only for the most hardcore pc gamers I guess. I'm kinda casual when it comes to pc gaming so I'm good with my set up : )

There really is so much cognitive dissonance for a lot of traffic engineers. This was best exemplified for me by a clip of a traffic engineer responding to a complaint that cars are speeding along a certain stretch of road. His response was that a traffic study had shown that 85% of cars were driving at or below the speed limit. The problem is twofold. First, that's responding to the wrong issue. People weren't concerned that cars were exceeding the posted speed limit. They were concerned that they were going too fast. Second, if less than 85% of cars were at or below the speed limit, following his logic, the solution would be to simply raise the speed limit. We want safer streets, not perfectly calibrated speed limits.
i definitely understand your take on the progress pride flag, and your opinion is completely valid. i think the diagonal halving is a good way of expressing the prominence of poc/trans struggle and undeniably articulating one's support for them. i personally still prefer the 2018 progress pride flag design (with the chevrons), as i don't believe there was any intention nor is there obvious perception that the area the chevrons take up is intended to be symbolic of a lack of focus on or diminishment of poc/trans issues. in fact, i feel the striking shape, coherent directionality, and mast-side alignment may bring even more attention to it, and the majority area that remains the standard 6-color is not meant to be appeasing to gay racists or those who would rather have lgb without t, nor is it 'leaving room to add more layers until it's an incomprehensible mess,' but rather to indicate that for many, the 6-color was always intended to be explicitly inclusive of poc/trans, but certain circles either forgot or tried to remove that. i feel the 2018 flag does a good job of (literally) pointing out that all rainbow flags (and thus all people who fly them) should be conscious and inclusive of people of color, transgender folks, intersex folks, queer folks, folks who don't prefer labels, and all other folks who have been unjustly abused and marginalized. despite our disagreement of taste, i would still be unendingly proud to fly either flag outside of my home or wear them on my back. thank you for your thoughtful, reasonable, and compassionate discourse, and i can't wait to ride with you someday (once i have my own motorcycle).
just a sidenote, it seems like it's often forgotten, but i believe the black stripe is meant to symbolize/enshrine those in the community that were lost to the indirect violence that was the neglectful medical care during the aids epidemic, as well as those lost to physical acts of violence and suicide.
I think your comments about the pride flag make particular sense in the context of the exclusionary spaces that pride often represents in terms of race and gender. So it isn't just that it feels tacked on, but the considerations of queer non-white folks and transgender folks are often just "tacked on" to queer advocacy.
You should try livestreaming videos like this on Twitch then upload to YT. Or experiment with that? That way as you recap your month, you can get actual input and commentary with your fans. Most of the times youre self critiquing, I honestly think the fans are on your side

I get that there might be history behind it and you can be proud or amazed by that history and thats fine. But to say that you disrespect a flag and that people are "disrespected" while you literally own that copy of that flag and (as you mentioned) can do anything with it. ofc it can go to the extremes like burning a flag which i can get why some might be offended by it but just hanging it in a different angle or putting other flags over it isnt offending at all. if someone would do the same thing you do to "my countries" flag (german flag) i wouldnt feel anything negative about that but would rather support it since it doesnt hurt anyone.
