For my setup ...I use 4lb mono...a old (early 80's) zebco 33 and a bsp classic 200 casting rod (pistol grip which reminds of the rod's I had when i was kid in the 80's.) Oh...and a bobber and worm (real or artificial - think leland panfish lures.) That to me = fun! :D
I stopped and fished in a Roadside pond for about ten minutes the other day and caught three decent largemouth. Watching your videos are the reason I decided to give it ago. Keep it up brother.
Here in East Texas we call them red belly brim but regardless what you call em,.... they're some fighting little son's of guns. Enjoyed your video almost as much as you enjoyed catching them.
It's awesome to see that you actually show the difference between the fish species! People are amazed when I tell them that there's actually no species of fish called a bream! Lol
Thanks again for your bible comment love your videos especially when you fish in the little bitty creek's nobody thinks there fish but there are keep the vid coming
I have the 7' M-F for bass..it's a darn good rod..I want the 6' now for creeks, currently, I have a 5'6" Daiwa Samurai and a 7' UL-F Shakespeare for wider creeks and longer casts. Keep posting the verses!
Nice catches, up here in Pa our creeks are loaded with the Red Breast Sunfishes & they’re strong little fighters, so fun with the light action setup, really enjoy watching you fish! I slipped in mud & snapped my light rod, gonna check out that Kastking
In Lake Lanier we caught what we call bull head red breast. They were large, and they had a noticeable bump above the eyes. My kids grew up going after pan fish.
Thats crazy how many bass you got there man. Wow. Most of the creeks around me are so grown up you have to bushwack threw so much grass and weeds. Idk how i havent been snake bit yet this year lol
None of them were actually Redbreast Sunfish. There are so many different species of Sunfish that identifying them can be confusing. Redbreast Sunfish in particular have long black ocular lobes (longer in fact than Longear Sunfish). I have caught a few in my local creeks, but most of the time they are Redear, and Buegill. My first sunfish I misidentified as a Pumkinseed. Best thing to do is take a good picture of them and compare their ocular lobes/fins with pictures and descriptions of the various different types. Redbreast in particular are supposed to be very tasty though.
What’s so great about the spots you fish...no one is going to crowed you out Catching fish no matter what size is why we fish ....present and retrieve....that’s the name of the game .... and catching red breast 👍😊 Enjoy your bible quotes 🙏👌
Sweet.. you need to go catch some perch on Ocoee in those creeks or Hiwassee I was fishing for trout on Hiwassee Friday and caught so many perch they were hitting my fly's fast so instead of a trout day it was a perch day very pretty fish
Hey. There’s a European company called Salmo and they make really good Crankbaits. The crankbaits are made for trolling but I found that they are exceptionally good for fishing on the bank too. Buy a couple and see how well they work for you. (P.S. Get the 1/16 or 1/8 oz because that will be the best depth for creeks and rivers)
So cool man some nice roosters you caught it’s interesting they the redbreasts up there prefer slower moving water than in Florida the like the faster water with current breaks those panfish assassins work out great especially because there from my local region of Florida. If you want to catch roosters try out a small crankbait or I crappie grub
I’m driving back to Minnesota from Florida and we’re passing through your home state right now . Just wanted to say what a beautiful state you live in man ! Absolutely gorgeous state
I went fishing in a lil town called blue earth Minnesota on my way to Texas San Antonio and notice a lil pound so I took my fishing gear out I end up staying fishing for like 8 hours we caught all types of fish so I took around 30 cats home and about 20 giant blue gills we released the lil ones
Here in Western Middle Tennessee we don't get Red-Breast sunfish, or at least I have never caught one here. One kind of unusual sunfish we have in certain creeks is the Red-Spotted sunfish. It looks somewhat similar to a Red-Breast, but does not have the long gill flaps. It looks more like a Bluegill with red crested scales, especially near the lower part of their bodies. I should do a video on the different species of sunfish in my area. I hope to get out this coming weekend, but it has been miserably hot here in the mid south. In fact it is hotter now than it was in July and August of this past year.
cool man that's awesome I live in Alabama and I fish trout creek from time to time here in ragland and never caught a trout lol I guess It got fished out years ago
Wow! The Kudzu @7:35! I wish my local creeks had more Redbreast. Alas, we are inundated with Green-sunfish... it's OK though, they are strong and aggressive.
I have an abundance of red breast Sunfish in my local river and canal. They are super aggressive and fight real hard. I always felt that if they grew to 3 lbs or more people would target them rather than Bass
Hey John, towards the end of this video, isn't this the creek that you posted a video earlier this summer that had the bird nest there by the creek? When I saw this video I knew right away this was that location and I remember those birds. By the way, second question...the drink cup in your hand on the porch...Pollo Loco or some big gulp on the way home from 7/11? LOL... as always, thanks for posting. It's these simple videos that I love. :)
Doesn't kudzu grow like a foot a day? Seems you catching everything but your trophy redbreast. I am trying to find a good spot to fish a large always full of water ditch near where I live.
You were in the wrong creek for redbreast brother. Rocky bottomed, spring fed creeks is what I always catch them in. I live in southern middle Tennessee for the record. Tullahoma specifically if you've heard of it. I have Normandy dam, Tims ford as well as Woods reservoir withing 20 minutes from me. You need to come down here and fish our creeks. I've pulled in fatty reds since I was a kid. I catch more of them than I do anything aside from chubs and shiners lol
Years ago, I put a couple pumpkinseed sunfish in a 55-gallon aquarium. Had 'em for a couple years, then released them back to the Snake River. Turned out to be a lot of fun. They're gorgeous fish! Fed them raw catfish fillet strips and feeder goldfish. Definitely entertaining.
Pumpkinseed are so colorful. Thanks John for the scripture.
Love catching panfish since I was a kid with dad. 🎣👍👍 fishin' hole use to be a fav show we watched & in-fisherman.
Those are about the best eating fish. Love cutting them into fillets dipping them in beer batter and deep frying them!
NOW MY MOUTH IS WATERING

Just a comment: I really enjoy the recaps at the end of the videos. Don't ever stop doing them! Lol!
I love seeing someone other than myself actually target redbreast specifically.
That’s awesome, glad other people notice them and not just for trash
As always , it's enjoyable to watch you " find " these small areas with plentiful fish .
Redbreast down here in Florida are surely the hardest fighting panfish, and also the tastiest
I stopped and fished in a Roadside pond for about ten minutes the other day and caught three decent largemouth. Watching your videos are the reason I decided to give it ago. Keep it up brother.
thats awesome, i love to stop and try a new spot
Here in East Texas we call them red belly brim but regardless what you call em,.... they're some fighting little son's of guns. Enjoyed your video almost as much as you enjoyed catching them.
thats cool, they can hit hard for sure
It's awesome to see that you actually show the difference between the fish species! People are amazed when I tell them that there's actually no species of fish called a bream! Lol
haha, yeah most just lump them all together
Thanks again for your bible comment love your videos especially when you fish in the little bitty creek's nobody thinks there fish but there are keep the vid coming
I always catch bass when solely targeting sunfish. I can't complain!
My friend caught a redbreast over a pound once, and I've come close... can't fish a creek without these guys!
That’s a monster for sure. I would love to find one like that and have it mounted
Redbreast sunfish are all over the streams and creeks in NJ, fun to catch and really nice colors.
My little spot is loaded with redbreast.
Tom Fisher are they good to eat?
@@arronhoward8875 I'm really more of a catch and release guy, but from what I've read most of the sunfish species are decent eating from clean water.
I'm in Northern NJ and catch (and release) them all the time. :)
At one of my local spots in NJ that's good for small bass- the redbreasts will run up and grab small lures almost out of the Bass' mouth.
I have the 7' M-F for bass..it's a darn good rod..I want the 6' now for creeks, currently, I have a 5'6" Daiwa Samurai and a 7' UL-F Shakespeare for wider creeks and longer casts.
Keep posting the verses!
Nice creek fishing video. Great fun fishing. Love seeing all different creek fish 😊
Nice catches, up here in Pa our creeks are loaded with the Red Breast Sunfishes & they’re strong little fighters, so fun with the light action setup, really enjoy watching you fish! I slipped in mud & snapped my light rod, gonna check out that Kastking
i think you will like it
I love catching small largemouth bass at my local creek when targeting panfish. Great video! ⚡️
Tried watching another guys fishing video he didn't say much the whole video your videos are the best but after all you are the king of the creek
You should make a review on the panfish assassin
In Lake Lanier we caught what we call bull head red breast. They were large, and they had a noticeable bump above the eyes. My kids grew up going after pan fish.
Oh that’s different
Wow! All that kudzu. Definitely down south. We don’t have none of that stuff here.
I love sunfish. They're so fun to catch
It’s so funny that you catch a lot of small size largemouth. I always get them when I targeting panfish.
red wigglers and Crickets.. are the absolute Bomb for Big ol' Redbellies !! they smell um! enjoyed it!!
Yah that would work
Thats crazy how many bass you got there man. Wow. Most of the creeks around me are so grown up you have to bushwack threw so much grass and weeds. Idk how i havent been snake bit yet this year lol
Love this kind of fishing

Red breast sunfish will splash around near creek banks. I used to reach under the bank and grab them when I heard them splashing.
What’s so great about the spots you fish...no one is going to crowed you out
Catching fish no matter what size is why we fish ....present and retrieve....that’s the name of the game .... and catching red breast 👍😊
Enjoy your bible quotes 🙏👌
your right, nobody to bother me is good
100 percent agree
What equipment are you using? Line, jig, jighead, etc. Thanks.
Sweet.. you need to go catch some perch on Ocoee in those creeks or Hiwassee I was fishing for trout on Hiwassee Friday and caught so many perch they were hitting my fly's fast so instead of a trout day it was a perch day very pretty fish
wow thats interesting, i need to try that
Thanks for going over what you are using at the end of the video. Always enjoy your videos.
You brought bass to a red breast party. North Carolina record red breast was 2 lb 1 oz out of lumber river on a cricket. Great video
That would be incredible to catch
@@CreekFishingAdventures yes sir, for sure
Loaded stream man , a lot of nice colors... 👍🏼💯

Where you from buddy? I’m down here in Orlando it’s super hard to find clear creeks
Hey man, can you try the jackall pompadour top water lure in the creeks, I want to see how well bass react to it!!
I’m driving back to Minnesota from Florida and we’re passing through your home state right now . Just wanted to say what a beautiful state you live in man ! Absolutely gorgeous state

Definitely a good days worth of bass lol but still got a few others tossed in there. Nice video 👍🏻
I went fishing in my local creek and caught a 17in brown trout 🎣
cool man that's awesome I live in Alabama and I fish trout creek from time to time here in ragland and never caught a trout lol I guess It got fished out years ago

hard trofy ... good on you
Great Video and another good day on the water thank you Sir
nice sun fish and bass I enjoyed the video
Wow! The Kudzu @7:35! I wish my local creeks had more Redbreast. Alas, we are inundated with Green-sunfish... it's OK though, they are strong and aggressive.
Awesome. What is your favorite type of sunfish?
green sunfish
Great job, watching your video makes us hungry for a mess of southern fried bream , our favorite.
I went yesterday targeting just sunfish and only caught bass. Just how it goes sometimes. Nice viedo as always.
Poor guy only caught bass
I have an abundance of red breast Sunfish in my local river and canal. They are super aggressive and fight real hard. I always felt that if they grew to 3 lbs or more people would target them rather than Bass
your right
I always catch redbreast in creeks. I don't think I have ever caught one in a pond.
Those mosquito fish are great bait with a small size 8 hook with a long shank.
Some of the stuff you wade through!! Oh look a snake, let's just wade on up there! Great videos and thanks for doing it for us
Nice video, I'd probably be too focused looking for ticks than fishing lol
Going for sunfish and the bass bite. Haha! I thought you were in a South American jungle there for a minute. Great video man!
it was really thick
Man I wish I could find a spot like this. Nice video sir

yah that was it, zaxbys on the way home
Looks like a bass breeding creek.Plenty of sunfish to.
You're big time now! Got a 15 second Longhorn ad before your video starts. Then two more short, skippable ads halfway through
Longhorn, thats what im talking about
I don't always hunt trophy sunfish but when I do it's usually with a fly rod and Im needing live trotline bait.
Grew up on this kind of fishing. How I avoided the moccasins I'll never know.
i see snakes all over but usually there avoiding me, i really cant tell what they are in the split second i see them crawl off
Doesn't kudzu grow like a foot a day? Seems you catching everything but your trophy redbreast. I am trying to find a good spot to fish a large always full of water ditch near where I live.
Those are called shell cracker in the south

Almost forgot about the red eyes man. I've probably pulled a couple 2 plus pound red eyes in my life.
I caught a smaller deep red in color red breasted sunfish. It had me in awe. Fell off my hook before I could get to it...
There's nothing like fishing for red breast on a nice, clear day😆😆😆🎣🎣🎣💖💖💖
Gonna go search for some tomorrow myself for my native fish tank haha
Me gustan tus vídeos
Que tipo de caña de pescar usas??
You got a great personality bud
Love your videos
The creek I fish contains a lot of rock bass. They are a blast!
i do like some rock bass
What type of lure bro
Just caught some redbreast today at a little river. They fought harder than some other panfish I’ve caught
for sure, they are very strong
Another fun vid Liked !
Amen! I can’t believe how that kudzu takes over. I just had to mow down a flower bed because it covered it up!!
Prettiest redbreast/long ears I’ve found are in Ocoee #1. Fun video.
They are colorful in there
I Like making creek fishing videos
Mosquito fish lol. Always wondered what they were..
You need a cane pole with a cork on it and use crickets that's the best bait for red breast!
Do you live in Georgia
south east tn
Nice video man
thanks buddy
So how do they taste?
Do you ever keep these ? I bet they make for some good eating
I don’t much like cooking stuff
Awesome video!
Nuther goodin bro!!👍
2.5in gulp minnow and a trout magnet....been catching some Big Shell cracker bumping it off the bottom
Oh nice
What kind a bait you where using and I like your videos it has been helping me thanks
It’s in the description
My pond has sunfish the size of a pancake and there’s like 50 of them
thats what i want to do someday, have a pond with big O sunfish
We have some the size of bass it’s so fun to catch em too
I'd go back there with some bass gear.
have you tried combat jigs?
just a few of them
What kind of Mic do you use with your hero 7?
I have a hero 5. I have a link to it in my video description. It’s just like a 10 dollar lapel mic
@@CreekFishingAdventures Thanks!
I'll check it out! Keep a tight line
Creek chub video eventually?? :)
That’s a good idea
Some of dem redbreasts look like shell cracker
We have redbreast sun fish in nc the are just called sunpurches
oh thats interesting
Those appear to be shellcracker, redbreast are wider and have a red belly, not an orange one
Shellcracker also known as redear sunfish have a distinct red marking on the edge of their gills, none of these did.
How do Red Breast compare to Bluegill in taste?
not sure, i would assume similar
@@CreekFishingAdventures I'd love to find out. I haven't found any Red Breast here in Wisconsin.
Hey partner how's it going what a great video hey what lures are u using or bat
Panfish assassin lure
Ive never caught a redbreast where we live. Not to say there aint any here but we usually cautch pumkinseed sunfish
Pumpkin seeds are beautiful and they are an indicator species as to water quality.!
I don’t think we have pumpkinseed around here
Years ago, I put a couple pumpkinseed sunfish in a 55-gallon aquarium. Had 'em for a couple years, then released them back to the Snake River. Turned out to be a lot of fun. They're gorgeous fish! Fed them raw catfish fillet strips and feeder goldfish. Definitely entertaining.
awesome video keep going
thank you
