Another stellar job, Thom. There is one thing I think you missed and it's something that might interest you personally, considering that you have a C40. I learned from a video Volvo Kristian posted recently ("MY25 EX40 & EC40 😎 Everything to know") that a digital rear-view camera accessory will be available for both the EX40 and EC40, presumably with the rear-view mirror replaced with a display screen and a camera incorporated in the shark fin on the roof. I expect it will provide a fabulous rear-view. For me (a `23 C40 owner) the biggest news (see the comments on his video) was that that accessory will be available for earlier C40 and XC40 models as well, though I expect most uptake will be from C40 owners, considering the limited coverage of its rear-view mirror.
Thanks Cary! I'm aware of this new mirror and actually already looking into one for my C40, but that will be featured in one of my videos to come. This will surely come in very handy for the current poor view in my/our C40's, haha! Thanks again for the support!
In the past „black edition“ has been added to the model line in the last year before model refresh. Sometimes it has been called „linje svart“. May we can see some new models next year - underpinned by CMA2 platform. Same fore XC60 which has a „black edition“ since last MY.
Lovely-but not quite enough headroom in the back rear for our tall son. Same problem with the Polestar 2. Batteries not LFP?
Hi Thom, great videos. I just wondered... for the MY2024 and especially MY2025 XC40/EX40 models do you know if they have FULL LED lights, or are the brake lights and rear indicator lights still only using old style bulbs? I asked the question of Volvo online chat and after a LONG wait they just told me it had LED headlights. Then after another long wait added that they were adaptive!

This switching that Volvo does I don‘t like. Contrasting roof, no contrasting roof, now it‘s back … wtf. When I ordered mine, both pixel led and black roof where standard (as I went for the highest trim), and I got it without both. Now it‘s back, but I personally don‘t trust them anymore, would only (if I ever get a Volvo again) go for a used one, not a new car anymore (as you don‘t know what you get). In my case, ordered the C40 Twin Ultimate, got one without Pixel LED, missing contrasting roof and vibrations in steering wheel, buzzing interior lights etc etc

What we need to know is, will Volvo implement those annoying pling, plong ,ding, dongs in your EX30 to all MY25 cars? Can they be disabled?
You can turn the speed bling blong ding dong off, however need to do that each time you drive the car..
Most of the bongs are to be on every time you “start” the car by law. So yes, you will get most of them, and maybe some new ones. Who doesn’t love a car that is constantly bing-bonging.😏
@e-redj 48hrs in the EX30 and it’s driving me crazy already. It’s ridiculous!
Afaik the current MY24w46 cars come with isa, but you can disable it with the left arrow (opposite to the pilot assist toggle) really easily. Fortunately my MY24w17 didn't come with it.

Good riddance on the silly "Recharge" name... So Volvo is retaining the Sensus-era cockpit physical appearance (instrument panel, embedded vertical infotainment screen) in its updated 40-series BEVs (5:30), rather than going to the Mach-E-like EX90 cockpit physical appearance? I hope so, and I hope that Volvo is re-thinking it's Mach-E/Tesla interior cockpit appearance and going to get rid of that and go back to a classier instrument panel (with covered hood to keep out sunlight) and embedded infotainment screen (rather than the horrendously cheap-looking iPad-glued-to-dashboard look).
What about NACS charging?
He is European. As always in the US you get special editions. You have to talk with some local dealership or Volvo USA about when they will change the port. Europe will keep the existing one.

Good video. Much rather an ec40 than ex30, more Volvo. More car for the money, especially on the inside. ex40 is bigger in the back, but ec40 look nicer, i think. The front is the only thing that is nicer on the ex30. according to my taste.
