Absolutely immense. Robocop 1 is sheer brilliance. They dont make them like this anymore. Ultra violent 80s sci-fi, no sympathy for anyone in this film. Brilliant
This new Robocop even though it was it's own movie, it had no heart to the story, no real reason to like him, no flare or defining character traits to him, (The original had him at least a fan of westerns where he would twirl a gun to let you know Murphy is still in there) and nothing cool to remember. The bike he had was nothing special either (nothing that made it his personal bike that could have synced with his weapons or something interesting). Then they never explained why still he had only one human hand. It stood out so bad (a complete eyesore)
Just as a reference check, he wasn't a fan of westerns. His son watched a show called T.J. Lazer that had a Rebel pilot looking guy twirl his gun and Murphy wanted to do that for role-modeling purposes for his son. But he did say he "got a kick out of it". Just thought I'd point that. Plus (I know the human hand is annoying) the human hand was to say that Murphy was still making decisions whether to shoot. Not a robot, but a human. I kind of agree with you so I just wanted to help you with the facts if you don't mind
Man this song gets me so pumped! Whenever I hear it it makes me want to punch a hole in a wall, or blow up a gas station, or drive a van through a toxic waste container lol.
So I saw the first and second movie only a few days ago and then the following day this big story about the Robocop statue in Detroit comes out. Hey, legendary films and characters will never be forgotten or become irrelevant.
Damn, Robocop has probably one of the greatest theme songs ever. Really charges you up and makes you want to take on the world. The movie was fucking great too.
The times when talented people composed music for the movies. You sat down, heard the music, and you already shit your pants, because you realized - before you saw anything of the film itself - that something great is going to happen.
Very emotional soundtrack I can write words for it: 0:00 - 0:15, The shooting and killing of Murphy, 00:16 - 00:40, Repairing and transforming Murphy to Robocop, 00:41- 01:02 Ressurection of Murphy, and new life, 01:03 - 01:31, Fighting crime and winning, 01:32- 01:52, Triumph and Victory for Murphy- Robocop. I will analyse the rest later.
Remake was perfect in my opinion. It had enough of the old Robocop in it to appeal to nostalgia freaks like myself, but also brought something new to the table!
Great song. I was listening to it while I was getting ready for work this afternoon. Totally pumped me up. I had an overwhelming urge stare at my boss and say, "Your move, creep."
But if you read the Wiki article on Robo 3, you'll see that many of his ideas for 3 weren't used, and a lot of it was parts of stuff he came up with for 2, then further altered. There are other writing credits for both movies, and in both cases, the directors changed his ideas and substituted them with their own. Frank Miller even as a quote on that Wiki about how they changed his ideas, but legally, they had to give him credit.
If I had control, I would make a partial reboot to the series. It would be more a direct sequel to RoboCop 1, with a few elements from RoboCop 2... but it would completely ignore RoboCop 3. It would have OCP being the main antagonists, and be an epic conclusion to RoboCop's story. It would also keep the satire, and the human/machine conflict within Murphy. Plus, all the blood and gore.
I think what'll disappoint me most about the new robocop is how kid-friendly it's looking to be. I mean this movie was brutally violent, from the dude getting shot up by Ed209 to the ending of the guy getting crushed. The next movie doesn't seem to carry with it the same R-rated feeling.
It did more than that, listen to what Dick Jones talks about in the boardroom right before ED-209 blows on Mr. Kinney. OCP monetized things that weren't normally thought of as profitable: healthcare, education. Look at what's been happening in the world now. RoboCop predicted more than just Detroit.
This has probable been said already, but a remake was planned, but from what I've read, the director and the studio had a difference in opinion. The guy they got to direct it was the same guy who directed the Wrestler (can't remember his name) he wanted more organic special effects, the studio wanted full CG so he quite the project, that and other problems that happen to films. don't know if that is true just what I read
The wife, his partner, the doctor, the evil CEO all have different names. They can;t change Murphy because that's KEY to the FRANCHISE. It's like they make a remake of Spider-Man and his name is Peker Parter.
"I work for Dick Jones. Dick Jones."

The USA movies of the 70's, 80's and beginning of 90's are the best movies and will be in my memory for all my life.
Thanks.
0:18... old movies have those beautiful and touching sounds that gives me goosebumps :)
Same with me
this reminds me the ending of the first film.
Robocop - "im not arresting you anymore"
Boddicker- "taking this a little personal don't you think?"
"-Dead or alive, you're coming with me
-well, one of us has to die
-dead then!"
Yes, it's the best line!
I loved the old robot flicks. They looked genuine which you could connect with the hero.
This new Robocop even though it was it's own movie, it had no heart to the story, no real reason to like him, no flare or defining character traits to him, (The original had him at least a fan of westerns where he would twirl a gun to let you know Murphy is still in there) and nothing cool to remember. Christian Young It didn't help thanks.
Christian Young thanks for clearing that up.
***** Wow, I totally agree with you. I really enjoyed the remake, but the new Robocop wasn't as memorable or had as much depth as the original.
remake one isnt Robocop but rubber cup. a mistake
Everything past the 2 minute marks feels like it belongs in an old batman cartoon.
Man this song gets me so pumped! Whenever I hear it it makes me want to punch a hole in a wall, or blow up a gas station, or drive a van through a toxic waste container lol.
this song made me cry about the great old days that the 80's had!
I can't blame you, the classics can NEVER be remade, because ITS CLASSIC!
14 dislikes are OCP fanats
0:52 is the beginning of the best part. God this guy was my childhood hero.

All time great film!!! Haven't seen it in ages tho!!! Always loved the theme music!!!
1:33 is the best part
don't move creep!
One of my all time favourite film themes. So epic it's unreal.
"dead or alive..you are coming with me..."
robocop is made of win.
this music is epic. they don't do movie music like this anymore.
This is the best movie ever to feature a main villain named "Clarence".
They should keep this in the remake.
It is. I heard the main theme while listening to samples on the soundtrack for the remake. :)
I've watched it. It's in there.
moltenbullet I know they used it for the title card, but, will they be using it throughout the rest of the movie?
They did! And not just that: as I predicted, by the end of the movie...
SPOILER
Robocop is back into the silver suit!
My favourite childhood hero...
Every time I listen to this piece of music I fell like I can lift cars with my bare hands!
Favorite movie ever. In a hopeless, corrupt shithole, Murphy/Robocop is one of the few people who still believed in doing what's right.
This stupid song has been stuck in my head since 1987. I love it...
You know movie them music is great when you can hear the dialog and see the scenes in the back of your head
This gave me goose bumps! I loved Robo Cop when I was a kid and still love the movie!
This movie has been seared into my mind, My passions revolve around it so, I Will never feel the same way about a movie.
A masterpiece
perfect music...really amazing
Screw the Nostalgia Critic's list of the most "HELL YEAH" movie themes.... THIS is the rightful #1. :)
Forget that, this is my entrance music for entering this world.
My favorite classic movie!!! It remains in my heart and mind whatsoever!!!
love the part when hes sitting in the car and the music appears the first time in the movie
Remake was perfect in my opinion. It had enough of the old Robocop in it to appeal to nostalgia freaks like myself, but also brought something new to the table!
If this isn't in the remake, I'll be furious!
I'd like to see a remake to the original. I usually descent remakes but in RoboCop's case, I'm fully interested.
0:19 makes my hairs stand on end. Just sheer brilliance. The calm before the storm!
As moviegoers, we care about Murphy and everything he has to endure. That's rare in any type of movie.
i love the whole heroic theme part best bit
This is the sound of justice.
The first Robocop was a classic!
A re-make would be like trying to re-do the original Star Wars films. But that's my opinion.
Just got back from the cinema and it cheered loudly and yelled "fuck yeah" when I heard this in the new film
This = The definition of epic.
Great song. I was listening to it while I was getting ready for work this afternoon. Totally pumped me up. I had an overwhelming urge stare at my boss and say, "Your move, creep."
once upon a time, you tried to walk like Robocop. you know you did.
"My Friends call me Murphy. You can call me RoboCop." - Alex J Murphy
Knew this was Basil without having to look it up ... nice shades of Conan :)
"Dead or a life your coming with me" i love that line
"Come quietly or there will be...trouble!"
stay out of chubble.
Robocop: Come quietly, or there will be.... trouble.
Joe Minh: Ah, fuck you!
Robo PWNS EVERYBODY!!
you really have to wonder how great a robocop movie would be with today's graphic options. they could remake robocop with a whole load of new gear.
I'd buy that for a dollar!
that was a kickass theme and a fantastic film
Great music and movie.
But if you read the Wiki article on Robo 3, you'll see that many of his ideas for 3 weren't used, and a lot of it was parts of stuff he came up with for 2, then further altered. 80's the best times
Fucking Win.
"Nice shooting son, whats ya name?"
"Murphy"
Classic.
Clarance:"Hey, I was just kidding around!"
If I had control, I would make a partial reboot to the series. It would be more a direct sequel to RoboCop 1, with a few elements from RoboCop 2... but it would completely ignore RoboCop 3.

Dead or alive, you're coming with me!
asombroso!!! awesome!! I need to see and a new Robocop movie.
"Dick! You're fired!"
"Thank you."
*BANG!*
"Come quietly or there will be... trouble."
LOL. I know you meant Murphy but it does come off funnier this way.
robocop pulls out his gun aiming at the bad guy.. "Drop it!"
Hair stands at 1.33
Awesome music, awesome
I wish they'd make movies like this again. Instead, we get Rubber Cop coming next year.
Favorite theme, right next to the Terminator!
I think what'll disappoint me most about the new robocop is how kid-friendly it's looking to be. I mean this movie was brutally violent, from the dude getting shot up by Ed209 to the ending of the guy getting crushed. The next movie doesn't seem to carry with it the same R-rated feeling.
"Can you fly Bobby?"
I only like the Du du du du duh do duh do duh do? where can I get that bit?
Check out my channel! I believe I have what you're looking for.
classical theme. classical movie. good old 80s. RIP Basil poledouris.
"Dick... YOU'RE FIRED!!!"
"Thank you."
Now I know where mortal Kombat got the fatality theme for MKA theme from lol... Can't wait for Robocop 2011
Great theme
robocop predicted detroits future. i.e detroit went bankrupt
Have they been brought out by GoogleImean OCP yet?
that part happens next. just you watch o.o
Wasn't detroit in a serious shit alread?
Nick Dzink it was a joke dude.
I must have seen this movie 57485 times when I was a lil turd.
Reading Peter Weller's wikipedia page while listening
Criminals instinctively run from this music.
theme for this song: Chaos, shooting criminals, thugs, and robbers. Hostage scenario, enter robocop, save the day.
Holy shit! Aronofsky is doing the remake??!! That is so bad ass!
Best Film ever made......I Love it
great theme song
haha i strait away looked this up after watching robocop 1 for the 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000th time :D

90's were equally awesome
this song is classsic
Basil Poledouris ? No big surprise. He's one of the best movie music composer out there.
na na na na na...*shoots the right hand off*
1:32 the best part !
you´r move creep. Dead or alive... you´r coming with me!
The wife, his partner, the doctor, the evil CEO all have different names. They can;t change Murphy because that's KEY to the FRANCHISE. It's like they make a remake of Spider-Man and his name is Peker Parter.
This is good stuff right here.
