The end of Freewing F-14, again

Always thought other RCG pilots' comment were excuses for pilot error by saying "a tree jumped between me and my plane" when their planes hit the trees until..... today I did it with my F-14. During landing approach she went away a bit too far than normal (possibly my elevator control horn were a bit loose that she did not respond to my initial elevator input for turning?), so the approach began somewhat farther than my typical approach. The full flap approach seems normal until one club mate yelled "Trees! tree! tree! tree!"... Too late, my eyes were on the F-14 until the treetop blocked my view of the 14...
She tumbled/flipped over the treetop, apparently part of the wing or landing gear tripped by the branches. I forgot to throttle back, watching her full throttle nose dive... One Xfly fan has rotor blade flying out.
This is the first time ever I had a long low approach from behind that tree, a pricey lesson here
Due to an earlier crash from aileron on elevon mode (too much drag with aileron as elevon? and now I recall a similar poor elevator response), my gyro was on aileron and rudder only. It helped smooth the flying with wing forward position, but the model became wobbling once wing swept.
