Try 5 evocators standing right behind a unit of redeemers. The redeemers run defense and protect the evocators. Evocators also love a good hoarfrost. Celestar ballistae are also legitimately good in Celestial Warbringers.
I love some good jank.

1:05:00 Grandstaves have only 1" range, unfortunately. One of the reasons foot Evocators kinda suck :(
