When you said about “a label that’s like controlling them,” you got it right. They felt so constrained before with the former company, not really able to express their true musicality and goal. On top of that, they were under strict rules (a thing that is like what some Korean entertainment companies are known for) as in they were shamed in public, made to work even when really sick, not given salary for months, etc. But they had to hold on since they knew it was the (lime) light they were seeking. A staff took pity on them and sneaked them into a carnival one night so they could unwind and recoup even for just a while, and that is why the carousel is so symbolic to them that they used it as backdrop in Freedom and in other videos. 😊 Hope you get to react to more of their songs.
