Hi I fired the stick up last night and it’s like new. I remember making a few mods to it. The rubber coating got sticky so I wiped it off with rubbing alcohol. There was also a huge amount of wobble and limp play in the flight stick. I put a cradle of 4, 5mm cable ties between the spring and the base of the joystick which stiffened/tightened it up. Wouldn’t be using it today had I not seen your vid mate. Good job jobbed as we say in Britain.Thanks.

I wish I x52 lasted as long as yours man. When I plug mine in now, everything lights up and works as normal, then not less than a minute later, the stick shuts off, and not mater what i try, i can't get it to work. I even got a replacement connection cable between the throttle and stick, but still nothing. So now im hearing that i might need to use a powered USB hub to push enough juice into the stick to get it to work. Did you myuw91 ever encounter a similar problem or heard about it? P.s. I like your honest review. It's great to know that people are keeping it real out there.

I'm thinking about getting one of these around Christmas. I feel like I would enjoy Elite Dangerous, but I couldn't get the hang of it with a conteroller.
The game has a very steep learning curve but is totally playable with a controller which is what I started out with as it was on ps4. I eventually got the thrustmaster 4 hotas (the only playstation compatible hotas) and have been using it ever since, you have much more freedom of movement with one. Since I'm on pc now I'm looking into the x52 as an upgrade from the thrustmaster.
@@IceDragon1377 check out VKB NXT Evo products and see if it suits you. For the price difference, you get a really significant jump in quality and gaming experience.
dang, i really thought the silver parts where metal, that would make it a lot better, I have some metal industrial joysticks from some logging equipment, I'll just go back to making those input to a PC since that seems to be the only way to get an actual metal joystick setup
I have been using my x-52 for about 1 year now. I bought it like new used (it was basically brand new). I have already given up on the joystick and now only use the hotas with a used force feedback 2 joystick. The x52 joystick was constantly decalibrating in the middle of combat ( war thunder) because of the ps/2 patch cable. I purchased a new ps/2 cable and it was no better. After much frustration I dumped the joystick for the FFB 2. The joystick connection is garbage. There has to be a better way to connect it. Too bad cause i really did like the joystick feel and setup. I have to agree with Andy Kashu about what Saitek has become.
Yea I agree with you, the connecting cables are not durable and the slightest movements can ruin the calibration. That's why I hope that Logitech, since buying over Saitek, will come up with a better version of the X52 and fix all the known issues.
Great review dude. Thanks. I'm looking to replace my broken TM 16000 with just a stick for my left hand. I use the mouse in my right. Can you please tell me how comfortable this stick is in the left hand? I've no intention of using the throttle. Thanks.
I never tried using it for the left hand, and the shape of the stick grip design looks to be dedicated for right handed usage. I'm currently using VKB NXT joysticks for both hands, and I recommend that you check those out.
Thanks for the review. Very useful info there. I think I'll stick with my MS Sidewinder force feedback (ff not supported in ED, but that's ok) joystick. It's virtually indestructable. Just need to find a no-nonsense throttle that will last for years. It's probably going to be a CH Products throttle. Not much to look at, but very good quality, or so I've heard. Besides, I'll be playing ED in VR so I couldn't care less about flashy lights and displays. Thanks again, and fly safe Commander! o7

But mine being from 2005 means it's still a Saitek Saitek, a product from the then 26 year old Swiss quality company, before the washouts of Mad Catz took over in late 2007 for laughable $30 million and ruined the quality over the course of only 9 following years, just in order to sell the ruined brand for only $13 (in words: thirteen!) million to Logitech, which made things become even worse, since these idiots have never known how to properly program software/drivers and thus even the profile editor got ruined and became so unusable that I immediately had to reinstall the old one. At least the MC profile editor is something that worked before Logitech guys got their filthy inept hands on it. I still have my Saitek X45 well boxed and sealed - looks like it were brand new - just in case the X52 would fail one day... am still waiting... and waiting... :) But, of course I know of people who were less lucky... most of them having bought their _'Saiteks'_ after 2007, especially Saitek _'Pro'_ and whatnot... Good on you when your _'Saitek'_ / Logitech / Mad Catz? is still working. I'd miss all the gazillion programmable buttons I used to have, but there's not better HOTAS for the money at the moment. Saitek is totally overrated and overpriced today. It can't compete with the quality of its competitors. You better keep your hands off it. If you can't afford a Warthog, go for the T.16000M für only $112.99, if not less when it's on sale. You don't have 3 different modes to operate with but it has all the usual buttons and keys you need, very precise plus if you want to fly as precisely as possible you would need one of these more stiff sticks anyway and not this loose, sluggish, baggy X52 stick... I had to tighten my spring to be able to keep up with other virtual fighter jet pilots, the original spring is more for airliner flying styles but not for competitions... so, no _'Saitek'_ X52 today is wasted money, if you asked me. It's not Saitek anymore anyway since 2007.

Hey I bought a x52 HOTAS yesterday and it was perfectly fine but today when I was playing with it, it was always going to the right like was moving it but I wasn’t. Can anyone pls help me?
What is the cable that connects Throttle with Stick? I have an option of buying this HOTAS very cheap but its missing that cable, what are the connections on both ends.. is it something i can buy in PC store?
Very nice .. I bought this product a few days ago but it doesn’t have a software .. I don’t know how to turn on the screen for Thotel .. Do you have knowledge of how to operate the screen or software to 64 bit ?

If the plane uses a flight stick, then yes. If you have a bigger budget you should check out better models too. But if your simulation mainly uses a yoke system, then you should check out flight yoke systems like what Logitech has.
I haven't found a use for the 2nd trigger stage in game so far. All buttons are still working fine for me after 4+ years, but the throttle axis calibration sometimes glitches.
I don't think so. There is a big public Discord group for HOTAS/HOSAS/SIMPIT that you can join where you can get a list of compatible flight sticks for your platform.
I know this is not your problem but can please somebody help me with X52 H.O.T.A.S. in default program he's working just fine in the game he's non-stop yawning to the left and throttle there is only 0 and 100% I just got that brand new from Amazon
Everytime that happens to me, my workaround is to unplug and replug the hotas. If that doesn't work, then I would switch off my pc and start it up again, which usually corrects the calibration.
Yea it is cheaper, and I personally don't regret it since now I let my partner use the 7-year-old X52. Also, make sure you look up all the common issues and solutions with the X52.
@@myuw91 have there been any more problems you experienced? I heard the software is a little user unfriendly did you have any issues with it? Or your partner for that matter?

Thanks for putting this out there! Any link that you know of, to get the new driver and software?
Thanks for the great info!
You can check out the official Logitech support website under Downloads section. I just used their driver recently for another laptop and it works.
@@myuw91 Thank you for that!
I broke the pinky switch taking it apart to clean the z axis or twist function like a fool. Never worked for me however
@@paulatreides9096 that's a shame, my joystick developed a constant drift and the throttle had some plastic part broken inside. So far been using the VKB Gladiator and the quality seems significantly better than X52.
@@myuw91 Was interested in that stick, glad to hear you like it
Hey I bought a x52 HOTAS yesterday and it was perfectly fine but today when I was playing with it, it was always going to the right like was moving it but I wasn’t. Can anyone pls help me?
What is the cable that connects Throttle with Stick? I have an option of buying this HOTAS very cheap but its missing that cable, what are the connections on both ends.. is it something i can buy in PC store?
I think it's called a PS/2 cable, but male-to-male version.
@@myuw91 thanks
Why won’t pc pc recognize mine there Is not even any settings for the hotas in elite
I'm afraid you have to search online for the installation process and follow the steps to install the drivers correctly.
you know if they've made any improvements on any of the buttons wear since this video? I get one tomorrow.
Not that I know of, I've been using VKB for a couple of years now.
Very nice .. I bought this product a few days ago but it doesn’t have a software .. I don’t know how to turn on the screen for Thotel .. Do you have knowledge of how to operate the screen or software to 64 bit ?
You can go to the official Logitech website and check for the downloadable software.
@@myuw91 thank you ...Unfortunately the official website has 32 bits and I need 64 bits
@@aliphoto74 I just checked the download page and if you click Show All Downloads button below the 32-bit version, you can see the 64-bit version after selecting your OS. Here's the download page: support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024847013--Downloads-X52-Space-Flight-H-O-T-A-S-
@@myuw91 I downloaded it and unfortunately it was only 32 bit..thank you
Didnt the quality improve when Logitech took over?
i have the x52 pro.....and my throttle display does not light up???.........Grrrrr
I cant even afford a 3D, but still want to start sim flying
never own one just wanna ask if there good for Tank Play??? ty
I want one of these but it says this HOTAS x52 not out till today went to amazon.co.uk and it says pre-order for october 13th 2020 witch is today lol
Would you guys recommend this for an Jet Airliner simulator?
If the plane uses a flight stick, then yes. If you have a bigger budget you should check out better models too. But if your simulation mainly uses a yoke system, then you should check out flight yoke systems like what Logitech has.
YES
i search the profiles for elite dangerous for my x52 saitek
Will it work with the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator?
of course, can be used with any game that accepts joysticks
Mine is good after 2 years except 2nd trigger stage is not working
I haven't found a use for the 2nd trigger stage in game so far. All buttons are still working fine for me after 4+ years, but the throttle axis calibration sometimes glitches.
@@myuw91 yep used the 2nd stage in star citizen it only has 2 weapon groups and it was useful for that but tricky
Can i use this one on xbox series x?
How is it in 2022?
In my opinion the X52 is outdated now that VKB is available. I'm using VKB HOSAS now and it's really worth the price.
@@myuw91 i do prefer a hotas system
But i'm simply a beginner and the x52 is really cheap here new, and i would only really use it for no man's sky and star citizen..
Or your partner for that matter?
great video. u shoulda cleaned it first tho
I have the exact one in this video and I'll sell it for 90 bucks I did not use it for more than 2 or 3 months
How is it in 2024 ?
@@AsfKhan-z4s IMO for the money, it doesn't last long enough. I recommend you to check out VKB products, which I'm currently using. It's more expensive but worth more in value due to the high quality parts and durability.
Hi everyone who can help me with the settings on Logitech x52 ...
Regards Kaius.
Hi Kaius, I don't use an X52 anymore, what settings issue are you facing? Most of the common issues I managed to find the solutions online.
I'm hesitant to buy this. The joystick itself seems decent but Elite Dangerous itself is badly designed. Only two weapon groups usable at the same time? For god's sake, why?
Yea I haven't played Elite for a while either. I started moving towards flight sims like DCS.
2020
Could have cleaned it before hand. The green sweat mould ...
Please I need a help
What kind of help do you need?
@@myuw91 i have x52 professional . and i looking for how to make a profile . and i need the name of this game please , thank you so much .
@@wejda7352 creating a profile depends on the game's support compatibility. The game in the video is called Elite Dangerous and it already supports X52 Pro. If you have the game, you can simply edit your controls profile in the game settings.
For other games, I'm not sure. You have to search online for solutions, if the game you play does not officially support X52.

I LIKED YOUR VIDEO. BUT I HAVE TO SAY, YOU ARE REALLY ROUGH ON YOUR EQUIPMENT DUDE. CAUSE MINES 3 YEARS OLD AND STILL LOOKS NEW WITH OVER 1300 HRS ON ELITE DANGEROUS. ITS A PC, NOT A KIDDIE CONSOLE SO I TREAT ALL OF IT AS SUCH. FOR PAYING ONLY $180 NEW IT WAS A GREAT DEAL. AND WITH IT BEING BUILT OUT OF CHEAP FLIMSY PLASTIC WITH NOT ONE FEATURE BREAKING OR WEARING OUT LEAVES ME IN AWE OF SAITEK. I WISH RAZER GEAR HELD UP AS GOOD, MY OUROBOROS MOUSE AND ORBWEAVER STARTED WEARING OUT DURING THE SECOND YEAR (PROBABLY @ OVER 6000HRS) OF USE. ORBWEAVER IS THE BEST GAMING PERIPHERAL I HAVE PURCHASED SO FAR.
You should download my software for the x52 for elite dangerous.
FFS why play those same 4 goddam chords over and over again?
A little sad voice . .
Yea really need to work on my vocals.
myuw91 I think your voice is great! Very relaxed and friendly. I liked the mellow vibe!
