I really want to emphasize the point about having the hips line up. Many guys struggle in this department. That is why it is important to continue working this skill until you can get the hips lined up so that keeping shoulder open is not so difficult.

Hey Coach! I just started playing DB and never came across crossover run I’m training. For what exactly are we doing these type of runs is it not risky bc what if the reciever is is going full speed on an go route

It is what you use when you transition out of your back pedal. Instead of turning your back to the receiver, you go into a crossover run which allows you to break on a route that is not going deep.

How u can make play on the ball in this position?? What routes neutralize the crossrun

At some point, the WR breaks your cushion and it's no longer feasible to remain in your back pedal. At that point, you have to crossover run. Doing it the right away allows you to come out of your break efficiently to break on the ball. Perhaps, I need a video on how to come out of your crossover run break.

the wr broke the barrier between you and him and based off his speed, a crossover run will help you stay "on top" of the WR instead of getting beat. surprisingly , if the WR so happens to go in or out or a comeback etc, you still can make a play on the ball out of the crossover run position. ways you can do this is, when you see the WR drop his hips, you drop yours and break the 45 or the 90 to the ball depending on the WRs route. that's one way.. the other way is speed turning and getting to the ball.
