Interesting video again! Model was buried by his men where he died at hte forrest. In 1955, his son, Hansgeorg Model, had Model's remains recovered from its field grave and organized a reburial in the Soldatenfriedhof Vossenack.

Great video watching from Jamaica 🇯🇲...keep up the good work👍🏿 didn't know field Marshal Walter Model was buried in a Cemetery thoughts there wasn't a Grave of him.
Very well put together, and so interesting for a WW2 nut like me - cheers. I think he was supposed to be liked by his men as he spoke their language (with plenty of profanity!) but was highly competent. I think they called him frontline pig or something!. However he was not so popular with his immediate subordinates as he was so demanding of them - not a bad thing by any means.
Modal was stupendous. The greatest general since Alexander the Great. Tragic that he had to commit suicide. Although a committed Nazi he never gave up his Lutheran faith.
Great job but.... Von Runstedt didn't took over Model's job in the east when he got Heeresgruppe B in the west. Von Kluge was OB west when Rommel commanding Heeresgruppe B was injured. Kluge combined both commands but Model asked for Von Rundstedt to become OB west once again so that he could concentrate in the field commanding Heeresgruppe B. When I visited this cemetery I was surprised at the state of neglect. Very sad contrast with the allied military cemeteries. The modern Germans seem to live in some sort of shame culture and try to atone for their sins by ignoring their own history.
