The blower will self level and ride on the skids without down pressure if you simply push your articulation stick to 12 o'clock past the click stop, as you can do with your FEL. Lots of folks are unaware of that float position, which is specifically designed to compensate automatically over undulating surfaces, and you'll have no more digging in or traction problems. It's also the position you would use to scrape loose material such as bark mulch, loam, or snow with the FEL from a paved surface. Simply, it relieves the hydraulic gate valve, so there's no pressure, either way. Just the implement weight is all that's involved. "Let it ride"! If you run 4WD, you will not have any traction issue whatsoever, and will not require chains either. Snow, sand, or any loose surface will eliminate the front end tire grabbing and chatter associated with 4WD. 2WD is for firm surfaces or lawns, etc. Also, lawn tires have superior traction on snow, compared to either farm or industrial treads, believe it or not. MB Tractor in NH has proven that with their fleet rental Kubota machines, and I can personally attest to it with my own BX2370 (same machine as BX25, without the backhoe).
+Woody Clark Glad to help. Lots of folks never find that position; just push up to the 12 o'clock until it clicks into position, and the hydraulics will float vertically, and it will stay by itself until you pull it back over the detent to center. I'm surprised your dealer didn't demonstrate this essential feature to you. It's also illustrated on the square sticker by the joy stick control. Have more fun this winter!
+GunBlue490 Something I didn't know either! And thats why I have to push it all the way over for the chute to rotate right. Because of that float position! Thanks.
+Woody Clark Woody, I edited my comment. I was having one of my 60s brain cramps... the detent is located at the full-forward 12 o'clock position. Same results.
+Force Ten Heating Trenton Fuel Oil I edited my comment to Woody after I discovered I had one of my old timer episodes. A cup of coffee in the barn with my dog this morning rattled things loose. You'll find the detent at 12 o'clock, full-forward. ;-)
I don't really need 4 wheel drive with the wheels weights. I was fighting down pressure because I forgot about the 12 o'clock float position. it was the first year I had it. I love the Kubota.
Great video. Takes care of the snow with easy effort. I want one! I've come to the conclusion that its time for a riding tractor with a snowblower attachment for next winter here in Minnesota. I'm done with cheap walk behind snowblowers and my body can't take it anymore with walking behind. This looks absolutely fabulous.
Hi Woody. I have the same machine. A little bit different theory about the changes though. Where did you get the heated cab and how much? How does it heat the cab? What is the heating element? These machines Kick ass if you have a lot of area to clean as I do. Nice job on the Video. Thanks when you get the chance.
I only had it in 2 wheel drive at that point. I also didn't realize I had a float position on my control. I standardley do not use 4 wheel drive when I snow blow. I only use the wheel weights and no tire chains
Usually shouldn't have to make extra passes for the missed snow in those windrows, I take less of a bite and try to get it all, less than the width of the blower after the initial pass depending on depth...
Now thats what I am talking about! Does that thing have a Cup Holder? Wish I lived in an area with that kind of snow. We have a JD X350 with a Plow, its a Toy compared to your Kubota.
Nice set up. I noticed at the 8min 25 second mark your R/F tire was not turning. And a couple seconds it started truning again. Was it in 4WD? Is there a problem with it? Seems strange it would not be turning.
Not locked.........to much hydraulic downforce from snowthrower lifting the front end up. That's why everyone was talking about the Floating Feature of the Blower unit.
The further you blow the snow, the better, because you won't have any snow banks close to your driveway and also reducing snow drifting across your driveway, unless you have a neighbor right next to your driveway, then it would be a pain in the ass for your neighbor to clean his or her driveway. Not a good idea. LOL
I live in the country so it’s typically blowing straight up most of the time- snow spreads out and dissipates more evenly actually in a good wind it’s just blown away
Why do people blow snow so high that a lot of it just blows back over what was just cleared? I adjust my shoot so that the snow blows across more than up.
How would one of those work on gravel? would I be sucking up gravel and launching it? lol. DO they have sliders or something so i can't lower it too far?
Lower the nozzle- so it's not all blowing back at you. You got chains for those rear wheels? Chains often chew up a paved driveway, though. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. *Winter Sucks. Plain and simple.*
Rick, I don't understand either. They are blowing the snow straight up into the air/ wind when all they have to do is lower it to 45 degrees or so and bam, no bullshit blow-back !! Also, throw the snow with the wind, not against. Tom, who cares ? Are you a grammar Nazi now ??

This was the first year I had it and I forgot about the 12 straight up position which is the float position. Using the float position I don't have any traction issues at all. I blow in rear wheel drive only I don't need four wheel drive.
Sorry I must have missed you a message. No I only use wheel weights on the rear and most of the time I snow blow in 2 wheel drive occasionally 4 wheel drive.
You should have your 4 way light flashers on and a strobe blinking light and a back up buzzer warning sound And And Always. Wear. Extra clothes and maybe have gloves on hand Incase. Your. Kubota brakes down. And also who is holding the camera nickel jay fox
Sam Maybe for you, but why do you care what somebody else has, let me guess jealousy envy or both, this probably is his lawnmower also or maybe he should use a pair of scissors.

Thanks I will try this on the next snow fall. if it works you will be my hero.

It's a sweet ride
So, @Michael Norman did you buy one for January 2021 snow in Minnesota? If so, what did you buy?
That’s the way to blow snow! Nice little machine! 😊
Nice rig...but I would miss that wind-blown-snow-in-the-face experience...NOT! Heated cab with wiper, very nice.
I have a craftsman tractor I used to use and I change that over to tire straps rather in chains it doesn't tear of the driveway or mark it at all.
Good vid. But plz 0lz direct the snow shute down more instead at the sky.

What's the thinking behind not using 4 wheel drive? Simple pull of the lever, no?

That's a sweet ride brah !!!
The shut is too FN high dude !blow back snow!
Now thats what I am talking about! Does that thing have a Cup Holder? Wish I lived in an area with that kind of snow. We have a JD X350 with a Plow, its a Toy compared to your Kubota.
Pangarap kong makapunta dito sa lugar na to
I guess I could lower the shoot but I kind of like blowing in the snow 30 feet away
never lower the chute, get the snow away period
Bobby Shah
You lower the chute to minimize blowback.
aguyandhiscomputer If that is the case, then turn the shoot 180 degrees, but never lower the chute...
Unless you can't aim it the other way (property line, etc)... ... ... ... ... ...
Thanks Joel
the only thing I don't like about the blower is its not self-leveling. I have to adjust it because my driveway goes up and down
Gute Arbeit!

yes it only requires a sweatshirt and jeans
Why blow snow strait up in the fing air.
+Rick Baxter - He making snow again! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

@@timothyanderson3042 unless that wind blows it back into your driveway haha
Does that have a stereo in it? You have a heated cab, a wiper, why not a radio of some sort.
hi, put chains on your rear tires for better traction.
I bet Woody is an Accountant, he pays attention to detail like me....
Why do people blow snow so high that a lot of it just blows back over what was just cleared? I adjust my shoot so that the snow blows across more than up.

URABUSWRXSTi yes adjustable skis
you will go through a lot of sheer pins from rocks getting stuck in the blades
Lower the nozzle- so it's not all blowing back at you. You got chains for those rear wheels? Chains often chew up a paved driveway, though. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. *Winter Sucks. Plain and simple.*
+HUBBABUBBA DOOPYDOOP Rubber chains work great for us
Force Ten Heating Trenton Fuel Oil Yea- those are great. No ripping up anything.
Great video - where did you get your heated cab from? Love it!
Lisa Parent curtis cab
I. I. Find a cheap way of having a cheap heated cab is to fart sorry I just had to say it
Rookie !!!
What?
How did you mount your two flag poles on the front blower? What model blower do you have?
And that's why I got the John Deere 2305 . Heavier machine and better 4wd
I just use the two wheel drive I don't need a four wheel drive for blowing snow
Why do none of these guys never turn the dam shoot down.
He making snow again! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just added wheels to my skis. The skis scratch up the driveway
We just added 12" wheels due to part of our driveway is rocked. We tried 8" and no go they still sank. 10" was ok, but 12" solid wheels did the trick!
+There's a few thousand dollars in that setup and that's snow joke
You have any UA-cam of your JD in snow?
how much for a setup like that go for?
Lucifer 825Daryl
If you have to ask you can’t afford it
8:30 locked front wheel
perhaps the brake does not release the wheel complete!
Not locked.........to much hydraulic downforce from snowthrower lifting the front end up. That's why everyone was talking about the Floating Feature of the Blower unit.
yes, it looks like the wheel is in the air
ty
I know this in an older video but the cab, can you tell me about it?
The brand is a Curtis cab
For the BX25D they make a hard shell and soft-shell
I don't have chains just wheel weights
how much wheel weights are on each tire? thanks!
50 pounds each. I leave them on all year around. If you UA-cam it someone has a install video. (Kubota 25D wheel weight)
Curtis cab
Oddly turf tires have better traction. They are softer and have better ground contact.
This was the first year I had it and I forgot about the 12 straight up position which is the float position. Using the float position I don't have any traction issues at all.
I blow in rear wheel drive only I don't need four wheel drive.
I do leave the wheel weights on all year round
I think around 24
looks like the pope mobile
What does your rig go for ?
all in 60 inch mower, deck backhoe, loader, blower, enclosure, wheel weights like $28,000
cheaper the a Deere ,, Thank you for your reply. I'm now disabled and can't use my 40 inch walk behind large frame snowthrower.
Don't shoot the dnow so high.
😀
You require chains bud‼️🇨🇦
Sorry I must have missed you a message. No I only use wheel weights on the rear and most of the time I snow blow in 2 wheel drive occasionally 4 wheel drive.

Get a Skid Steer
Had one, Kubota is much better.
Woody Clark Don't believe it.
This is unnecessary and excessive
Sam Maybe for you, but why do you care what somebody else has, let me guess jealousy envy or both, this probably is his lawnmower also or maybe he should use a pair of scissors.
Contrary, this is the way to go, depends on your perspective
did you cut off the roll bar ??
This your business or just personal use?
sorry I missed your post its just for personal use
