What makes dragonlash strong is not the actual properties of the move. You can easily punish it on reaction if you are looking for it. It's strong because it adds to mental stack. Because you have to dedicate some mental space to watch for dragonlash, you may not be able to react to the other strong options available to ken and vice versa. This is the same with most strong moves in sf6. Almost everything in the game has counterplay, but the more strong tools a character has, the more the opponent has to watch out for. TLDR Moves are strong not because of their properties, but because they add to mental stack.
Yeah he can Run over-head or DR grab, DR Fire Ball to standing heavy punch to Crouching medium to heavy tatsu- easy corner carry from mid screen I see Angrybird do this a lot. And the thing is he has Jinrai mix ups- can bait you to look for dragon lash and just crouching medium into DR combos- its crazy how much Ken can do off one hit
This game is about getting plus frames out of thin air and getting your opponent to the corner with one combo where he just dies from endless throw loops, that is about almost every top tier character gameplay this season

That person is a great example of someone that learns some frame data and starts making wild statements based on how something looks on paper and not in the context of all options during a match. Same type of person that complained about G having a "useless" 12 frame command grab in sf5 thinking you can always jab in time...only to watch Smug walk up to their face and scoop them while they are frozen like a deer in the headlights. It can be funny to watch them ramble nonsense though.
Every single person who has ever heard "Grabs lose to strikes" and starts going "how the hell do people get grabbed" seems to not understand that the simple rock paper scissors doesn't translate to juggling the whole game, sometimes you're stuck watching the entire rest of the screen waiting for The Bullshit to start, and then you're on the floor getting grab looped because you refuse to tech cause you keep expecting a tech-bait, and got caught by the first one
You're a good one, sajam. I dont know how you put up with it. And then seeing you lab and telling someone to figure it out, "chefs kiss". The amount of people I see that don't want to do is is crazy to me. Keep doing you, king.
This is why I respect JP players more than Ken players. JP players will either say "yeah he's broken lol" or give you actual matchup advice. Ken mains will look you dead in the eyes and tell you "yeah ken is balanced you just need to perfect parry everything, then perfectly read the drive impactable moves and it's the easiest matchup in the world, JP is the real problem, JP is literally a boss character, he's slightly unorthodox and therefore doesn't belong in streetfighter literally a guilty gear +r battle for the grid character smh hotfix nerf JP"
What I love about the "(insert character here) doesn't play street fighter" point is basically a thinly disguised "this character isn't a shoto" seeth As if street fighter 6 (as of now) needs an EVEN blander and more homogenize roster lmao
Oh 100%. As a JP player, my road to Master was full of apologizing to the screen. When I get opponent in the full screen blender of spikes, portals and ghosts I'm just like, welp I'm sorry it has to be this way. I wouldn't dare downplay how nonsensical it is that he has the best standing HP, the best AA normal, one of the best jump ins, for some reason they gave him an air throw. But Ken players really out here claiming poverty. They have no shame.
As a ken main, i can def say there have been at least a round or two where i didn’t land a combo, but killed the opponent anyway just because of landing some good spacing traps and rotating my options well on oki. A lot of ken’s tools aren’t unbeatable, but there’s just too many tools to keep in your head. Jinrai as well can just like do a ton of damage, auto spacing trap your opponent, and convert into supers and stuff. It’s basically just a super low risk rekka that can constantly stack damage.
i love people trying to downplay their own character, because god forbid if someone catches you playing a widely considered good character. the bottom tier OS is not that important guys
I got to the same rank before plateauing in mid Plat with both a high tier (Luke) and a low tier (Lily). It really is about the player and not the character. At the very least in this game, the universal mechanics are so much more important.
I think the player is legitimately gas lighting, and there's a way to tell because a person who gas lights will know that's true but specifically say instead that the opposite is true. For example he literally said that Ken has the worse fireball game and anti-airs in the game. Anybody that takes this statement seriously will end up so confused that they'll have to seriously consider if the NASA actually did fake the moon landing or not.
I always wonder what goes through someone's mind when they find out they were completely wrong about something that they said with absolute confidence. Is there any small fraction of self-reflection, or do they just continue to be that person?
Depends on the person, some have their worldview crumble around them and eventually reflect on it and others get defensive, say "fuck you" and get stuck in your ways. For the latter you can't help them, they have to realize on their own terms which may not ever actually happen but that's just how it goes
The commentors opinion feels like an on-paper analysis of Ken with a frame data tool up, not one with real labbing and sensible match playtime. "All his buttons are minus therefore he has bad pressure" [ignores spacing and general traps], "Jinrai is countered by doing this" [assuming they never do anything but the first frame version of everything], "Dragonlash is bad because all are punished except Heavy, which is interruptable" [vs a robot yeah, but not a human with a mental stack going on in real time], and so many more...
didn't actually know how to do spacing traps or keep up pressure before this because a lot of my matches were spent in the corner or in neutral. I guess I know now.
Vid got me thinking again about spacing traps in Strive and I think my corner pressure with Sol is getting nastier. Once again, thank you for your service.
Got a new job and have been out of the loop and not playing for a couple of months. So glad I watched this. Laughed, learned, loved. Was inspired to play by the closing insult towards your chatter. So much fun. Who would have thought a job at a dispensary would led to so much of my work coming home with me
...But let's think about that, Ken has: - Meterless side swap - Meterless corner carry - Meterless dash forward via Run + Emergency Stop - Throw loop in corner and Throw loop via Drive Rush - OD DP Reversal - Safe jump (two that I know of) - Drive Rush HP Frame Trap and Medium Jinrai Frame Trap - TWO super cancellable overhead attacks - OD Tatsu in the air (corner escape) - Heavy Dragonlash into jab link or throw - Many corner mix-ups that I won't even bother to list What he doesn't have: - Easy way to open up opponent - Projectile invincible Tatsu - Normal button overhead attack I'm looking at a character who seems pretty over-tuned, especially next to Luke and Ryu. 🤷 I don't hate people who play Ken, JP, Blanka, Cammy, etc, but don't insult other people's intelligence and pretend like your character doesn't have some bullshit built in. Every character has some bullshit built into them that's not fun to play against.
I disagree on the point where you said it hard to open people up with ken. I play cammy because she is the easiest and add to that a win with her feel a bit deserved because of her damage. I feel that ken is easier to use to open people up compared to cammy. Ken doesnt need to open people up he just burned you out and kill you in the corner. This can be considered a down play but theres no way cammy is better or on the same tier as ken.
I would say that you forgot a non-counter/punish jab to mediums link (crLP, stMP) that few have, but everyone has a meterless dash forward in, you know, forward dash. Where run~[choice] shines is in the options it gives that opens up new; pressure, oki, combos, damage, positioning... it even replaces his projectile ivinc-less Tatsu with a projectile invinc DP (not as useful but still there as an option)
Ken's tatsu may not dodge projectiles, but he still can go through them if he does the running DP at the right time and he can even punish the opponent with it for good damage if he's close.
We all get tilted sometimes and make up dumb shit as to why it wasnt our fault and instead push the blame on the character *somehow* ... But this is advanced delusion.
I remember reading this lmao. How out of pocket do you have to be to have the content creator make a completely separate video just for everyone to roast you
It's shit like this why I try to spend as much time as I can playing as much of the cast as possible in a game. It's easy to get blinkered about your character and feel like everyone else just has it better when your only frame of reference comes exclusively from playing him and struggling. If you think everyone else's stuff is really good, it's better to actually just go try them out yourself. Most of the time, you'll start to realise the shortcomings of them pretty fast and learning how to more properly apply them gives you a better idea of the kinds of situations that character is looking for to create uneven odds. If you look for it or with some luck, playing against your usual main as well is doubling useful, because seeing the matchup from the other side shows you how a strong option impacts their play and what moves they use to beat your options. Sometimes it's better to just watch someone else figure the problem out for you.
This all reads as; "Doing special moves is hard and using drive gauge is harder." Just today I was playign a Ken who was doing great keep away fire ball into his Jinrai stuff when I got too close. (I play Marisa btw)
I seen similar ken delusion either on eventhubs or sonic sols channel. Something bout how everything is negative so you can parry and punish everything. I just looked at it, there’s a reason why it didn’t have a singular upvote
You know they lied about playing manon because there's no chance you type something like that up if you've experienced the difference in power between her and Ken
@@Uooooooooooooh but then even Ken at those levels spamming stuff is still a good character, all the way from bronze to diamond i've seen Ken's just trying stuff with no real intent, no combos or setups, and never change playstyle if you start to wait-and-punish their randomness.
Only explanation I can think off is that he played manon only in gold and below where no one knows how to properly deal with command grabs and her overhead special

You're a nice guy not making his name public. But the rest of us in the dark ages demand blood. SHAME!SHAME!SHAME!
You're a good one, sajam. I dont know how you put up with it.
And then seeing you lab and telling someone to figure it out, "chefs kiss". The amount of people I see that don't want to do is is crazy to me.
Keep doing you, king.
You know from how hard the downplay was that he mained ky in ggst
This is why I respect JP players more than Ken players. JP players will either say "yeah he's broken lol" or give you actual matchup advice. Ken mains will look you dead in the eyes and tell you "yeah ken is balanced you just need to perfect parry everything, then perfectly read the drive impactable moves and it's the easiest matchup in the world, JP is the real problem, JP is literally a boss character, he's slightly unorthodox and therefore doesn't belong in streetfighter literally a guilty gear +r battle for the grid character smh hotfix nerf JP"
What I love about the "(insert character here) doesn't play street fighter" point is basically a thinly disguised "this character isn't a shoto" seeth
As if street fighter 6 (as of now) needs an EVEN blander and more homogenize roster lmao
@@Saint.CosmosI always get caught off guard by JPs and Guiles air grabs😂
I think I’ve seen JP air throw someone like twice since the game came out
@@doctordice2doctordice210 I'll never fully understand how a character playing the game differently is a bad thing.
I like how half of the ken downplay is just "This guy should play ryu then"
As a ken main, i can def say there have been at least a round or two where i didn’t land a combo, but killed the opponent anyway just because of landing some good spacing traps and rotating my options well on oki.
I swear, "Bottom Tier OS" HAS to be my favorite term.
Tiers dont matter on platinum
Damn I need ppl to downplay my characters like this
The "How to stay in bronze with Ken" guide in SF6...LMAO
I think the player is legitimately gas lighting, and there's a way to tell because a person who gas lights will know that's true but specifically say instead that the opposite is true.
For example he literally said that Ken has the worse fireball game and anti-airs in the game.
Anybody that takes this statement seriously will end up so confused that they'll have to seriously consider if the NASA actually did fake the moon landing or not.
Its simple, If I'm playing Ken he sucks, if I'm against ken he is OP.
Thanks I hate that I had to hear this. Us ken players are never going to beat the allegations are we.
I like the people who double down, they’re funnier
The commentors opinion feels like an on-paper analysis of Ken with a frame data tool up, not one with real labbing and sensible match playtime.
"All his buttons are minus therefore he has bad pressure" [ignores spacing and general traps],
"Jinrai is countered by doing this" [assuming they never do anything but the first frame version of everything],
"Dragonlash is bad because all are punished except Heavy, which is interruptable" [vs a robot yeah, but not a human with a mental stack going on in real time],
and so many more...
didn't actually know how to do spacing traps or keep up pressure before this because a lot of my matches were spent in the corner or in neutral. I guess I know now.
From the same banger comment section that gave you "JP's ex counter loses to command grabs":
Vid got me thinking again about spacing traps in Strive and I think my corner pressure with Sol is getting nastier. Once again, thank you for your service.
Y’all Ken Mains better gatekeep that man 😂😂😂. Ban him from talking until he can prove all that he’s saying
Got a new job and have been out of the loop and not playing for a couple of months.
So glad I watched this. Laughed, learned, loved. Was inspired to play by the closing insult towards your chatter. So much fun.
Who would have thought a job at a dispensary would led to so much of my work coming home with me
word brother
...But let's think about that, Ken has:
- Meterless side swap
- Meterless corner carry
- Meterless dash forward via Run + Emergency Stop
- Throw loop in corner and Throw loop via Drive Rush
- OD DP Reversal
- Safe jump (two that I know of)
- Drive Rush HP Frame Trap and Medium Jinrai Frame Trap
- TWO super cancellable overhead attacks
- OD Tatsu in the air (corner escape)
- Heavy Dragonlash into jab link or throw
- Many corner mix-ups that I won't even bother to list
What he doesn't have:
- Easy way to open up opponent
- Projectile invincible Tatsu
- Normal button overhead attack
I'm looking at a character who seems pretty over-tuned, especially next to Luke and Ryu.
@somerand3711 I mostly meant from neutral. If Ken has you burned out, waking up from a knockdown, or in a corner, consider your existence miserable 😂
Ken's tatsu may not dodge projectiles, but he still can go through them if he does the running DP at the right time and he can even punish the opponent with it for good damage if he's close.
2 other Ken players*
Ken Player Alpha likes their own post due to how to right they are.
I'd love to see this person's tier list.
"As a content creator you love comments like this. You know why?"
Because its free content. Infinite content glitch.
"it doesnt cost this person any money to type these things"
Yeah maybe in some cases it should 😂
Need to scrub this guys replays vs Ken. He's got all this locked so far down that he should be 100% vs ken, right?
We all get tilted sometimes and make up dumb shit as to why it wasnt our fault and instead push the blame on the character *somehow* ... But this is advanced delusion.
I remember reading this lmao. How out of pocket do you have to be to have the content creator make a completely separate video just for everyone to roast you
It’s a level of dedication to being wrong that one has to eventually respect.
What video was this on?
I summon that one Millia player that is in every comment section ever talking how terrible Millia is. Or that one Ky player that does the same thing
🙏🙏
When you think about it Giefs level 2 is a terrible anit air but other than that he's OP
😂
Thanks sajam now I don’t even need to play a ken player to be angry
This all reads as; "Doing special moves is hard and using drive gauge is harder." Just today I was playign a Ken who was doing great keep away fire ball into his Jinrai stuff when I got too close. (I play Marisa btw)
I want you to post more bits like this if you run into Jiyuna this shit is hilarious.
Bro wrote a 9 page dissertation and was unhinged on the 2nd sentence
Part of me wants to play Ken now just to feel how wrong this guy is. Sure I've played against Ken enough to know, but I want to feel the power.
Next time I'm getting hit by s.hp half screen away I just need to remember how trash Kens normals are
The kinda person who hopes Capcom reads their words so Ken gets a buff instead of a nerf.
Wake up DP needs full invul and 3 seconds of super armor after landing.
How lost in the proverbial sauce do you have to be to get to this point this is craaaazy
Ken's so bad he won EVO. 😔
This isn't your average everyday Ken main. This is... ADVANCED KEN MAIN
It’s secretly AngryBird, he thought he could fool us.
R.I.P. Ray Liotta, known for his roles in Cocaine Bear, Chantix ad, and Sajam thumbnail. he will be sorely missed😢
Once again brothers, we join in a viewing of Sajam explaining wish punishing and spacing traps
I seen similar ken delusion either on eventhubs or sonic sols channel. Something bout how everything is negative so you can parry and punish everything. I just looked at it, there’s a reason why it didn’t have a singular upvote
I want this to be some sort of act so this guy could get a full video made of him.
You know this was AngryBird’s burner account right?
I've never seen someone be wrong THIS confidently. Bro has spent 5 mins in training mode and thinks he's a lab monster.
Why can't people just acknowledge they play a good character and keep it moving. You're not a better or worse person for your character choices.
This comment it's like the same level of absurdity of that "ground based footsies guilty gear is known for"
sajam thumbnail excellence as always
Even if this is bait it's still just as bad someone would type this much out as "bait"
05:10 That this post has any likes, much less 3, makes it borderline Chapter Black material for anyone foolish enough to still have faith in humanity.
The fact you used Jamie to prove your point against Ken makes me sad as a Jamie main. But... On point.
You know they lied about playing manon because there's no chance you type something like that up if you've experienced the difference in power between her and Ken
If he's playing on a really low level the difference doesn't really matter
@@Uooooooooooooh but then even Ken at those levels spamming stuff is still a good character, all the way from bronze to diamond i've seen Ken's just trying stuff with no real intent, no combos or setups, and never change playstyle if you start to wait-and-punish their randomness.
Only explanation I can think off is that he played manon only in gold and below where no one knows how to properly deal with command grabs and her overhead special
Ken mains are 100% random up until diamond, where the probability drops to 50%. It then tapers off logarithmically alongside MR in masters but never reaches 0.
Kim mains also follow this model
I just want to play against him. I wanna play against him and just see what he does. I'm not even that great, I'm just a plat Lily player. I just want to see.
I like how this commenter says "yeah everything in Ken's kit is bad to slightly better than average" and then at the end of his sixth paragraph complaining about how everything the character has being either fake or bad ends with "he's 7th best in the game overall"
That whole whole thread reeks of damp basement and hot pockets.
Nah. This whole thing is normal ass Ken downplay. The only thing I think is actually crazy here is bro saying my shoto with his srk has awful anti airs. That shit is legit funny as hell.
I want this guy to FT10 Sajam. Defend your honor Ken main
But he's gonna lose and just get reinforced on his ego.
phew, when he was describing how absurdly wrong the comment was and how hard the guy simps for ken, i was worried one of my comments was going to get pulled up. i know they arent good takes, people, i just dont know how to not post them.
I didn’t watch the video yet ..this thumbnail is just a masterpiece ❤
Say you suck with your main without saying you suck with your main
Sajam confirmed to only own one shirt. He simply dyes or bleaches it depending on his mood.
I've fought multiple +1500 MR ken's that don't understand how to use Jinrai setups and use the light(?) version that has a gap built in and completely lose it when i constantly jab them out of it.
Love to see it.
Should be heavy version. Medium is a frame trap going into the shin kick and light is a true blockstring going into the shin kick. Heavy you can interrupt any move I believe.
@@seph13xLight has a gap between the hits, Heavy has a gap before the hit
That’s definitely AngryBird’s alt UA-cam account 😂
See, I told you Bizarro World exists! We even found someone who's from there!
As a ken main i can confirm that we all share the same 3 braincells
I like how they act like Dragon Lash light and medium don't have uses. IIRC you can use both of them to beat out a reaction DI (and beat out parries too).
I wanna play the version of street fighter 6 that this guy is playing, that would be so nice
I think I had a stroke listening to Sajam reading this, each statement was more unbelievable than the last.
