Hey, thank you! And ya, I was nervous doing it haha. When I install anything I always use silicone on the inside around the hardware for an extra precaution. But having a bolt hole under the waterline is never a good idea or in my case, close enough to the water line for my comfort. When I installed the anchor trolley pullies I never thought I'd upgrade the kayak as much as I did so it shouldn't have even been an issue, but after adding livescope and a motor with a big battery I got too close to the water line. So figured I'd fix that problem the correct way once and for all haha
Thanks! Figured if I'm gonna have kayaks for as long as I can still kayak I might as well buy the gear and become competent in handling my own repairs.
I guess you could, if they are just small I wouldn't bother but if they are getting deep then it would probably help give you some more material there to prevent a hole
Hey so that was my fault. It's due to the fact that I used a piece of plastic that was cut from the back of my kayak, where the plastic is more black. It was the only piece I had. If I would have had a piece from the more orange part it would have came out orange. But in the end it's repaired as new, if I was bothered by the black I would slap some stickers over it ahaha
Nice! Thanks for sharing that. I am now more confident to drill on the kayak now. 😂 By the way, have you tested the NK-180 on the water yet? I have the exact same setup like yours but haven't got a chance to test on the water yet.
Thanks for watching! And ya haha definitely helps take the worry outta cutting and drilling once you see it's not exactly permanent. Still wouldn't recommend doing anything under the water line but honestly it repairs to almost 100% brand new. And yes! Had it on the water a few times. It's amazing! I have a video already recorded but haven't had the time yet to get it edited and posted, will be up soon though.
Well done bro.. I'd be shittin my pants lol... isn't the thing hot? Looks like ur hands get pretty close to it... how much is it? With all the holes I make into mine maybe this would be a good pickup
Haha ya I was nervous for sure but I tested it enough with great results that I wasn't too worried to ruin it, I was more worried it would be ugly but functional haha. And the hear dissipates pretty quickly after an inch or so. Super good investment if I'm gonna be kayak rigging for three foreseeable indefinite future also! Cost me $200 shipped to my door and came with a bunch of stuff. I have a quick short ill put up about all that came with it soon.
@rogersmith8593 from their website? I'm in Canada so not sure they would offer free shipping like Amazon does. But it's good to know that! I'll check it out for any future purchases
Good job 👌🏻
Clean job! Very helpful!
Thanks a lot! Ya I learnt something new so figured I'd share with anyone that might be thinking of doing the same.
Wow, good job! That made me nervous just watching-lol I think I would have used silicone sealant in the installation process.

You can see the test piece in the video, it was more black, that's where I took my repair pieces from to fill the holes
