Mr. Thembekwayo, you are touching a nerve - yes, at times 'we Elders' are losing or have lost, even given up our voice.. we have fallen into a "preserve the Peace at all costs" kind of excuse-living, becos we don't want to 'rock the boat' with our younger generation, the more accomplished, more travelled / more 'educated' know it all, do it all, Say It All kids; we too easily 'accept undercooked directives downwards / upwards' ? Yes, It is time to engage our wise & proven brave hearts - and step to the plate..intervene, give guidance again, speaking our truths softly..intrinsically as all good advice is - like soft falling snow: the softer it lands, the deeper it sinks in.. regards and God bless Vusi! yours, Pastor Rovaro - Pretoria / Marabastad boykie..
Hello Vusi, thank you so much for sharing this episode on ELDERS. This is really inspiring and it is sad we are lacking in elders these days and this just inspires me to become an ELDER in my own space. God bless you Vusi.
Thank you Vusi. You just gave me a different understanding to my experience with my grand dad who lived for 130 year and was the oldest in my lga. I spent 8 years with him while growing up
@@banda7305 Glad as well to meet you. By the way I own this youtube channel, mostly it's about education(English teaching included). I believe we can do something to enhance and impact positively our community. Kindly have a look and let's talk about it: ua-cam.com/users/Twige
It's so amazing because I was thinking about the same subject during the course of the week, I must say that you are very influential Vusi and I love the way you use your influence weather in business or sharing an idea. please continue to use your gift for building, correcting and trying to do what builds the Kingdom of God.
Our elders did their part by raising us and taking us to school. Most of them unfortunately lost their cultures and adopted the western cultures. As much as we love and respect them, their wisdom is contaminated in a way. I am not saying all elders should be like our fathers Credo Mutwa, Ngila Muendane, Joshua Maponga etc but most of them focused too much on providing for their children and did not spend time gathering enough knowledge for us to consult when wisdom is needed. Some are busy teaching us the wrong ways of getting rich. They have experience but their wisdom is not much on the things that matter
Vusi is a hybrid personality type, INFJ, ENFJ? ENTJ? So very rare and mysterious. I'm straight, please. Love the stories with all that knowledge embedded in them. Elder he is.
The best podcast I have listened to in a year. This is super exciting and dearly a reminder that we need our elders wisdom, empathy and compassion now more than ever. Such a beautiful insight. Thanks Vusi.
@Vusi Agree with your insights at the beginning to the podcaster. Content creators should focus on sustainable and impact influencing rather than instant gratification from popularity and advertisers. Let your content be your engine for motivation and the good deeds that will come out of it.
Even before I went deeper into this podcast I was like omg I was thinking about this just this morning - I was thinking WHY is it that today's parents are more concerned by being their children's "friend" instead of being the elder?
Mabele ke sorghum Vusi😊. So it'd be "sorghum porridge" I guess. Tell them I helped with you with something hey😉😁😁Thanks for the wisdom as always and the beeeautiful and picturesque story telling maaan, you make me wanna curl up in front of that old heavy coal stove and just listen to you like I listened to my mum and cousins when I was growing up🤗😍beautiful 👌🏾
"Imperfect people trying to do this perfectly." "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Mat 5v6. [Akekho olungile ngokuphelele, sonke silambela ukulunga. Sometimes we win and sometimes we appear to have lost yet we've learnt and we hunger and thirst once again.
Unfortunately I lost respect for Vusi the moment he said "Cyril better step the ** up". Pres Ramaphosa is an adult and ELDER and I can never respect anyone who feels comfortable to use such a language toward an adult; public figure or not. It is the little things that says much and that one action eclipsed everything for me from that day. I thus cannot listen to anything moral or social from him. Hopefully it was a mistake such as he has mentioned and has gained wisdom from that. Good business speaker though.
I can't always wait for "heeeellloooo family". Very iconic
Agreed! So do I😂
Am on this table with you🤣😂🤣.Helllllooo family

Thank you I was raised by the elders. It was for a time such as this when their voice and values are lacking!

EN's aren't picky with the genre of conversations they engage in like IN's would be

Ahhh, this episode hit me in several ways.
At one point I was completing the sentences as if I was there during the recording...
Nice one
i knew the axe🤣🤣🤣🤣🇿🇲
and we are more doomed if our generation does not fix the elder issue you highlighted. And not forgetting the outsourced parenting.
Sadly, most platforms that focus more on negativity have a larger following. We have long misplaced our core values.

YOU'RE AN ELDER.....V.T.
A dead parent is better than one that is alive and misleading.
