As a spark I used to only Run the Supply and then get the customer to bring in a plumber to finish off The rest, with Electric Showers/Water Heaters Etc etc. it would get frustrating when I’d have to come back after loose connections/ pinched Insulation so I’ve taught myself how to do the basic Plumbing.
You're correct, plumbers job, even 15litres or less. Still needs professional knowledge that you wouldn't expect any diyer or most electricians to have. Electrically, anyone can change like for like, safe isolation is an obvious must.
💯 us plumbers. The electrical side is a lot less technical then the plumbing side. Turning off water etc changing valves and sealing up fittings. Defo not an electricians job
I looked at that isolator and already itching to see what breaker id on it. That WH is 13A isnt it? Infused isolator and knowing the state of the electrics its probably unsafe 😂 Did you wonder if the appliance and cable is correctly protected? If the shit hits the fan someone gets a belt of appliance starts a fire will your insurance pay out?
@cputilitysolutions wow. That is not safe at all. Its a mare showers and heaters and id say ideally both. Unpopular I know. But depends on what test equipment and electrical knowledge the plumber has that is doing it.
Electricians won’t touch them. Also I get lots of immersion heater jobs, as they don’t like water. Mega flo= mega cash. They take a while to drain, but easy day
Well Both of should have the knowledge that a on-demand electric water heater must have a 6 gauge wire ran from the panel box to run said appliance ! You sir should not point fingers cause you were there in the mix just the same ..🤫
@@olympusplumbingheating5027 expansion vessels and domestic hot water storage vessels are not to be confused. G3 applies to any hot water vessel over 15litres. Below this ,water regulations and manafacturers instructions apply.
Lol, sparks fitted it by the looks of it 😮
😂

I was always told in college we plumbers can wire any appliance from a fused spur
👍🏾
You can ...but... if anything goes wrong did you complete all the required electrical safety checks , that'll be question they ask at the inquest )
@@cornishplumber5051 that's also part of the electrical exam when taking the level 2 diploma 😊 I just done mine couple weeks back

Fitted one of these the other day, I did the plumbing side and the electrician ran the cable for it
👍🏾
My opinion is from a fuse spur, it’s 3 wires. 3. Wires. I do roughly 2 a week, so it’s all good. 😁
👍🏾
Unless the house is unionised, anyone can do it 😊
👍🏾
Plumbers job all the way (with part P electrics) standard knowledge for anyone serious about our trade
👍🏾
Defo would say us plumbers but I’ve worked for a client that demands electrical engineer wires it even if exchanging one 🤷🏼♂️
👍🏾
Also u said ur changing the point which in my eyes you are having to knock the mains to possibly change

Was a 40A breaker on it

Jg joints/pipe less than 1m from heater , that still a thing ?

Yeah electrician leave the work for me. It’s never your job

😂
Plumbing because it comes under your G3 ticket unvented
G3 only applies above 15 litres.
True but I thought because it’s got a expansion vessel it’s g3 😅

It’s DIY’s job! Not plumber or Electrician’s
👍🏾
It’s all ok, until something goes wrong……
Most heating engineers are better than electricians at wiring stuff anyway.
Ur working off a supply not a 3 amp fused supply or 13
Under 20 litres it makes no difference

Under 15litres.
Do you get Many of them much
Only my 2nd one I've fitted
