Subwoofer confirmed in video tear down of the refresh. It is in the passenger side well, similar to the previous generation. It is behind the carpet, above the rear passenger tire.
Cool thanks for the info. I'll take a look if I can grab a signal, turn on lead and power it should be easy to upgrade. Unless it's CANBUS then I'll leave it alone 😆
@@toothfixer No problem. Based on the teardown video I saw of the refresh, the subwoofer enclosure looks to be the same as before, so it should be really easy to swap out the speaker just like before if you want to leverage that enclosure. Go to the end of this video to watch how the enclosure is accessed in the previous gen Model S: ua-cam.com/video/82LicdskF24/v-deo.html
Also, if you haven't been on TMC owners forums, many owners of the refresh are saying the 2021.32.5 update added a subwoofer level option in the sound menu and it sounds MUCH better on the low end frequencies. Also keep in mind that Elon said at the launch event that Tesla would continue to improve the sound system with software updates, so you may want to wait a while before yanking any existing speakers.
Turning it up to 11 is actually a reference to This is Spinal Tap instead of Spaceballs. Not criticizing, just helping you out. Thanks for the video.

Refreshed 2021 Tesla Model S looks amazing
Get out of the fast lane. It is for passing not cruising.
Your sub woofer is In your seat
My wife would probably agree with you 😂
