They are both still clearly in love with each other. Al only left Diane because she gave him an ultimatum to either marry her or leave, despite the fact that she knew Al did not believe in the institution of marriage. Since then, Diane has said that she has always regretted giving Al that ultimatum because it would be better to have him as her life partner than not having him at all. I say they should reunite. My grandmother remarried in her early 70’s, and she and her husband enjoyed almost 20 years of a very happy marriage!
He's also a very good actor.

The fact he came here to give tribute to her is so sweet..And he has always stressed how much she was encouraging and helped him back to movies when he had no will to return and Al has always credited her ..He is so humble and sweet .

I can't understand why people who obviously still love each other, don't get back together. It's been many years for them I know, but the way they look at each other, wouldn't it be wonderful to have that love in your old age? That little speech gave me goosebumps.

Because these are actors and they say anything to make an impression, and you don't really know if they really love each other.
I always felt like Pacino and De Niro were like full of themselves... the more I watch them the more I discover they're shy and the sweetest souls one will ever see in a lifetime. I know they aren't superior in value much less perfect, but it watching them gives me faith and hope in life, so I suppose that's a good thing.

De Niro isn't shy about his political views but, unless I just haven't been paying attention, Pacino seems to prefer to fly under the radar. The only gossipy item I heard was Al dating a woman 40 years younger than himself.

Diane knew this, and has always regretted giving Al the ultimatum to marry her or leave.

I believe Al was the great love of Diane's life because I saw her appearance on a show once...they were showing photos of her old boyfriends Warren Beatty, Woody Allen, and Al Pacino...when they got to Al's photo, Diane said, "I have nothing to say"...I think the breakup with Al really hurt her the most...You can see it in her eyes here, she still loves him......

In one interview, or maybe her book (I've read/seen so many I can't recall where any one tidbit is from anymore) she said that Al didn't want to get married but she pushed too hard for it and that was a huge factor in the break up. They both still loved each other, but Diane says she now regrets how she handled it.
Pacino's father was up to Wife #5 when he died. I think Al seeing his dad go through so many wives soured him on marriage.

Al Pacino is just as good as him when it comes to acting if not better but when we talk about which one has the better movies, more iconic movie character, I'd give the edge to Pacino. I am by no means a professional lip-reader, but I am nearly sure that as she is clapping she says (very quietly) "oh my god" after he says "... and I love you," at the very end there. For some reason I think she was very surprised to hear that. You see a lot of actors who throw that phrase around and constantly tell everyone they love them to the point that it doesn't mean nearly so much - I somehow doubt Pacino is one of those types.
