I admire Vir Das ever time I watch him. He always reminds me how humble and down to earth he is. People usually think comedians do jokes so we shouldn't take them seriously but I guess comedians are the most observant of the lot and it takes a genius in you to connect with people and make them laugh. Moreover they convey messages related to social issues in a subtle way.
Probably one of my favorite interviews of all time on this channel. Some great insight with "Shut up, listen and put into action" and also the awareness of how reality is and how much he respects the privilege he's earned. Well done on another great interview with some really nice questions Anupama Ma'am. :)
I'm watching this for the second time now. He seems to be a very sorted personality. Mentally at least. It's like a Philosophy lecture in the guise of an interview. He covers many themes. Success, contentment, failure etc. Baba ka Juice for example. Also the fact that being surrounded by an entourage attracts attention. He makes great points. I don't know how many times I'm going to watch this articulate fellow.
@@mohammedkothambawala2173 I second every word of what you said. He strikes the perfect balance between the guy next door and the person you want to look upto.
@@preranamodani He puts forth an important message. How important it is to stay grounded. He admits that his first standup wasn't his best effort, for he didn't realise the reach that Netflix has. I'll stop here. Bottom line: this interview is Gold. Have you watched his Speech at his Alma mater? That's great too.
Just watched Vir's 2 Netflix specials last night. Apart from great jokes and great delivery, the fancy suits were great too and he looked dashing in them!
Anu mam. I'm really sorry watching this interview so late... I'm one of the earliest subscribers of film companion and die heart fan of Anupama Chapra . This viral das interview is pure gold. Deserves lot more views. Great job guys. Keep it up. Will definitely try and promote it as much
His interview was really candid, agreeing to his incapacity of delivery of his content. (first special ) He is a great artist hopefully the brown revolution will break the stereotypes associated to us. Go Vir and all the South Asians.
Probably one of the best shows to have come out of this channel! Vir is much much better than many who came to show! Please manage him to get more on the show! It's amazing to just watch him talk
Love love love the interview! Funny yet profound. Always loved him, and forgave him for mastizaade coz like he said failure is part of everyone’s life!
precious boy Vir Das!! keep evolving and keep doing good stuff - looking forward to your 2nd special.. all wannabee comedians in India have this guy to look up to.. and i'm so glad he mentioned Aditi before ANYONE among the young comics.. role model hai bhai tu..
Don't exactly remember when but the last interview I watched of Vir das was very subdued n depressing but here it's a complete transformation ☺ Wow so good to see him happy n content, glad for him! Way to go big brother 👌 keep making us Indians proud on the global platforms 👈 All the best 🌹
Did anyone bother watching comicstaan on amazon prime. This was the show that indias “top” comedians were promoting on rajeev and anupamas show. That show was basically cheap laughter challenge for english speaking folks. Even the stand up done by our ”top” comedians was pathetic. And These guys were judging younger comedians. Kaneez doubled up as english sidhu. It shows because there money being pumped in make any shit that comes to mind. Its time to call a spade a spade and stop giving these overfed jokers any attention until they break new ground and up their game.
I kw its not relevant but ur comment reminds me of thr fact that ppl like Malaika, Karan and Kirron judge a show which assesses talent. Am i really the only one whose blood boils??? Wtf
Mohan Bhargava i have not watched the show coz i dont have amazon prime, but i guess in the time frame that these top comedians have after a comedian finishes their part, they should provide substantial feedback. I believe that would be the only way to mentor these comedians during the show’s running time. Now u tell me whether this happened and if the top comedians did an apt job of it.
i have learn some thing out of this interview Virs prospective towards the celebs is the perfect answer his treatment towards him being a celeb is the perfect approach best attitude in a person as a celeb these are the is the most envy personality of him by the intellectual audience crowd VirDas Fan
Technically douche-bag is not a word you would use if you believe in feminism but Vir did mention that he is still figuring it out so its acceptable. But the fact that he is so self aware already, means he will realise very soon.
I have seen all the interviews on this channel and this is the first time any guest has successfully stopped Anupama Chopra from using her sugar coated lines. Hard Luck Anupama, you will be able to do that in your next interviews with A-listers whom you play diplomatic with shear brilliance 😁😁😁😁
i seriously want the duo Vir Das & Kunal khemu collaborate and come up with a movie resembling hollywood duo like James Franco & Seth rogen i.e movie like pineapple express, the interview or (this is)the End
I was in his Colorado show and I am not sure why he thought it was filled with Trump supporters. Firstly, CO is not really a Trump supporting state and especially in his show, there were a couple of American couples who were offended by his jokes and I remember one of them walking out. Other than that, the crowd was pretty supportive and the show was a massive hit.
