Coolie is a derogatory word and yes if he says out the reality of India that shouldn't offend you either. As much as you try protecting this fact, girls are not safe in India. They cannot move out of their homes at night. And, no, that's not the case in the US. It can be for some regions. Apart from urban slums there is little to no chance of getting someone raped. Which is not so in the case of India. Rape is an epidemic, and it's a blot on India. It's not an issue of narrative. Every foreigner that visits India has faced someway or the other harrasment, maybe you can say they land up in Delhi that's why. But that's not the case, empowerment of indian women is even lower than that of Bangladesh. They are dependent on their husbands. They do not have economic autonomy. Things are changing but not so much. As, far as the word Coolie is concerned, I personally do not mind someone calling me that, because for me classism is not important. Because the Constitution does not distinguish me from a coolie. That being said, it's a derogatory term. It's a working class term. And abhijit can spin in twenty other ways he wants does not change the fact that's racist. Racist terms make you racist as well, just as woman that facilitates misogyny enable violence are patriarchal. Coolie is also a British frowned upon word usually referring servants of darker hue that carry their luggage along with the palaquin careers.

First of all its not lungi. The white one is called veshti/dhoti. Only the coloured ones that are striped or checked are lungis. Hindus wear veshti, mullahs wear lungi. Now few Hindus also started wearing lungis(coloured ones).

Watched this video to listen to Vir Das perspective. Watching the video made me agree even more to what Abhijit Chavda Sir said about him. When given a chance Vir is just giving out random statements and not able to properly give an explanation. If he thinks India is a young country and we are doing great, why doesnt he talk about that in his show, he will never do that because it does not fit his narrative. And that is the same thing Chavda Sir said. Since now he doesnt have any explanation he has started acting like he is the victim, which is a tried and tested way to handle things of Vir Das and all his associated following the same ideology.

Well I stand with Vir Das on this. Whatever he said in his 7-minute speech made perfect sense. It was not that the facts he stated were previously 'hidden' to the west world that he revealed them and defamed our country. Every country in the world is already notified of the Plusses and Minusses of India at a global stage, just as any other country. We must unite as indian citizens and accept that our country has some downsides on which we are working upon just like any other country, whether this is on foreign or our home soil. We must take proud in the country we live in, while accepting that our country, like any other, is in its young age is a growing economy and is leading to a utopian future.
I wasn't really a fan of him until I watched the 2 Indias. His style of comedy is revolutionary which is why, people get offended. When he shone that necessary light on those topics, it really opened my eyes on how much we need to be more serious about literally everything from women's safety to killing in the name of god, etc. Instead of thinking and believing that a comedian can ruin a country's repo, why don't we demand for a better standard of living by being kind to one another. Also, there are many comedians out there who speak painful truths about their respective countries, and in the process people get hurt. So, please as civilized humans (only applicable to people who are actually that), stop being so soft and accept the facts, worry about the issues at hand instead of what the whole world is going to think because believe me minds can be changed through continued change/development which India has promised.

I was not offended by Vir Das's -Two India comment but i definitely feel that when a comic resorts to "making fun" instead of being funny it just shows that they were lazy and took the easy route out. However, after hearing his reaction to Abhijit Chavda's comment I want to say this to @thevirdas 1. Don't insult if you cannot take one 2. Calling Barkha Dutt a real journalist is ok but you need to know that she has a darker side too. She blamed Kashmiri pandits for their own genocide - Video proof is everywhere. 3. Why?! As an adult living outside India, I've been asked "So, why is India the rape capital of the world?" to my face from non-Indians, despite that being untrue. This very gentleman was quoted for the same question. As Abhijit Chavda pointed out, some of us are definitely waiting for him to poke fun and expose the reality of the USA (where he probably feels more at home than India, given his ideas and mindset). And how are you using this man as a measure for India's growth rate? We have an overly complicated cultural and geopolitical scenario, which is always being exploited by people to rule over India. I, being Indian, am not calling him an anti-nationalist. I feel he is talented and hard-working. But let's see if he cracks the same wavelength of jokes on other religions, countries and cultures. There's plenty of material out there, but I haven't seen him or other 'comedians' going the extra mile to entertain at the expense of non-Hindu entities.

Need I ask why she was invited after all the Shenanigans Raj Kundra was up to? After so many of spiritual talks with awesome and exalted guests, what was the need for TRS to lower its standards? Namaskaram Ranveer Bro 🙏 I have something to say to you.🙂 TRS podcasts( of both languages) have phenomenally influenced me and countless others. You have brought in value to our lives (through the internet) which couldn't have been thought of a few years ago (conversations on/with yogic sciences, tantric sciences, kriya yogis, bhakti yogis, gnana yogis, sadhakas, sadhana, the 10k+ years old culture of Bharata) and on physical sciences, geopolitics, technology, leadership, marketing, psychology, etc. . To a large extent we all have our biases being human, and I do too. All perspectives are welcome as long as they aren't dipped in hypocrisy. Humor definitely is subjective but that said, as talented and hard working a person might be if he/she selectively demonizes/demeans a community/culture through his/her career and isn't unified in that approach( in essence staying mum to make humour in case of other cultures but be enthusiastic in case of just one), then that person loses credibility; and for me the guest in this podcast is one such. Many Bharatiyas and outsiders still aren't in touch with the reality of our past and present, and it's due to people like Sir Abhijit Chavda and you (and many more), that we are learning about our country's true nature which is vibrant and way different from what we got the idea of, from our school education. Looking forward to seeing more outstanding content from you; podcasts in which the guests enhance and/or challenge and/or broaden our perspective and aren't hypocritical or those that mask themselves with a different aura. 😊

Coolie is a derogatory word and yes if he says out the reality of India that shouldn't offend you either. As much as you try protecting this fact, girls are not safe in India. They cannot move out of their homes at night. And, no, that's not the case in the US. It can be for some regions. Apart from urban slums there is little to no chance of getting someone raped. Which is not so in the case of India. Rape is an epidemic, and it's a blot on India. It's not an issue of narrative. Every foreigner that visits India has faced someway or the other harrasment, maybe you can say they land up in Delhi that's why. But that's not the case, empowerment of indian women is even lower than that of Bangladesh. They are dependent on their husbands. They do not have economic autonomy. Watched this video to listen to Vir Das perspective. Watching the video made me agree even more to what Abhijit Chavda Sir said about him. When given a chance Vir is just giving out random statements and not able to properly give an explanation. If he thinks India is a young country and we are doing great, why doesnt he talk about that in his show, he will never do that because it does not fit his narrative. And that is the same thing Chavda Sir said. Since now he doesnt have any explanation he has started acting like he is the victim, which is a tried and tested way to handle things of Vir Das and all his associated following the same ideology.

I was not offended by Vir Das's -Two India comment but i definitely feel that when a comic resorts to "making fun" instead of being funny it just shows that they were lazy and took the easy route out. However, after hearing his reaction to Abhijit Chavda's comment I want to say this to @thevirdas

Why?! As an adult living outside India, I've been asked "So, why is India the rape capital of the world?" to my face from non-Indians, despite that being untrue. This very gentleman was quoted for the same question. As Abhijit Chavda pointed out, some of us are definitely waiting for him to poke fun and expose the reality of the USA (where he probably feels more at home than India, given his ideas and mindset).
And how are you using this man as a measure for India's growth rate? We have an overly complicated cultural and geopolitical scenario, which is always being exploited by people to rule over India. I, being Indian, am not calling him an anti-nationalist. I feel he is talented and hard-working. But let's see if he cracks the same wavelength of jokes on other religions, countries and cultures. TRS podcasts( of both languages) have phenomenally influenced me and countless others. You have brought in value to our lives (through the internet) which couldn't have been thought of a few years ago (conversations on/with yogic sciences, tantric sciences, kriya yogis, bhakti yogis, gnana yogis, sadhakas, sadhana, the 10k+ years old culture of Bharata) and on physical sciences, geopolitics, technology, leadership, marketing, psychology, etc. .
To a large extent we all have our biases being human, and I do too. All perspectives are welcome as long as they aren't dipped in hypocrisy. Humor definitely is subjective but that said, as talented and hard working a person might be if he/she selectively demonizes/demeans a community/culture through his/her career and isn't unified in that approach( in essence staying mum to make humour in case of other cultures but be enthusiastic in case of just one), then that person loses credibility; and for me the guest in this podcast is one such.
Many Bharatiyas and outsiders still aren't in touch with the reality of our past and present, and it's due to people like Sir Abhijit Chavda and you (and many more), that we are learning about our country's true nature which is vibrant and way different from what we got the idea of, from our school education.
Looking forward to seeing more outstanding content from you; podcasts in which the guests enhance and/or challenge and/or broaden our perspective and aren't hypocritical or those that mask themselves with a different aura.
