Could you consider tying options into difficulty levels? For example, Preofessional / Master should have opportunities, instinct & UI help turned off. I love these games but in Hitman 2 I had to spend like 20 minutes in the options menu trying to get the experience how I wanted it - I'm a long time fan since Silent Assassin.
Well assassination in itself is a puzzle, from the routine, the best way to approach the target and who the assasin is, what is the timing of the guards/authorities ect.
You (and I) are not the only one who recognize its a puzzle game. I seen a speedrunner who said the same thing once, or actually someone who donated to the speedrunner and the speedrunner agreed. Its obviously a puzzle game, its about doing things in the correct order, correct time and to do that we have to experiment and figure out what way to do it. Learn teh puzzle. Like a rubiks cube. Its one of the only games where we constantly restart the mission over and over to get things right. Or save scum lol.

That’s very dumb to compare it to rockstar games’. Most of their games promise large open-worlds with LINEAR stories, they don’t promise multiple ways to attempt missions, they tell you from the start this is a linear story with sometimes select options. World of Assassination trilogy as a whole should go down as one of the all time greats in gaming IMO. When you put it all together, it's an absolute beast of a singleplayer gaming experience. It doesn't seem to get the credit it deserves quite frankly. In my opinion these Hitman games are quite a bit better made than Rockstar's games or the Far Cry franchise (as examples of franchises with a similar scope and scale)- but they don't seem to get the same level of mainstream commercial success. It's a shame. But sometimes the finely crafted top-shelf stuff is a bit of an acquired taste. I'm just grateful that there's devs out there like the folks at IOI that work so damned hard and so well to elevate our favorite hobby. This trilogy is like the Romanee-Conti of video games - finely and passionately crafted for the most discerning connoisseurs of single player gaming. These days I stay away from preorders and like many gamers often wait for games to drop in price before buying them - but as I become more and more enamored with this trilogy I fully intend to preorder premium editions of whatever IOI is cooking up next. They deserve that faith and that loyalty I think, and if they can't get massive commercial success then they should get dedicated fans willing to throw money at them IMO.
One of the best, most intricate video games I've ever played. A real puzzler with insane attention to detail. Especially the Paris level shows the level design mastery rarely seen in other games. Shame the game didn't get the success it deserved. When watching this documentary I also realized how well the music fits. The game is a true gem.

I have to give them credit for one minor thing that no one ever seems to think about. The fact that they knew when NOT to add animations. A lot of games get bogged down with trying to be realistic, so they add animations for everything, and it just slows the game down. A good example in Hitman is the doors. 47 doesn't have to physically open and close the doors, you just press a button and it happens. The recent hitman trilogy has some of the most complicated and intricate interaction mechanics in any game. I love Hitman omg :) Will we see anything from David Bateson from these episodes? Thanks alot for creating these series, you have a new subscriber! :)
Bateman.
@@scowler92No it's "Bateson".
I'm enjoying these a lot, can't wait for the next episode!
I started notice that the game was a chess watching some streaming in steam and remind me some parts to HITMAN GO, anyway the technical achievements are impressive and this part of the doc is awesome
I'm so glad these videos exist, great job.
This game is beyond brilliant. I've enjoyed doing every little thing you can and creating my own contracts. My wish list for Hitman 3 locations are the following...
6-8 story Hospital
The White House or Pentagon
Military Air Base or Commercial Airport (Should end with getting on a plane before it takes off, finishing the objective and exiting with a parachute)
Carnival
Prison
Jungle
Broadway Theater Production
A Federal SuperMax facility like Leavenworth or ADX Florence would be interesting.
Wonderfully done! Can't wait for the next installment
0:36 "each level of hitman plays out like a James Bond movie" lmfao
47 is the guy who kills everyone in the level and still gets praised for it. 😂
Love this serie and the music
I wish there were more of these about Hitman...
found ur channel today searching for half life docos, you do great work man
THANK YOU NOCLIP AND IOI!!!
This is an amazing series. Can’t wait for the next!
I watched the last hitman video like 10 seconds ago , damn already a new one arrived
"Like a James Bond movie", eh? Rather apt, and gives me hope that they'll do Mr. Bond justice.
Amazing work Noclip. You guys rock!
More Hitman, yes please!
Absolute unit of game
Its an amazing achievement that it runs at all considering how complex it is. Speaking of frame rate, why is the frame rate on Hitman 1's levels so much higher on Hitman 1 compared to the same levels in running in Hitman 2?
Amazing work as always Danny!
This was such *cool* video.
Well done, Noclip *:)*
Loving this hitman content!
Genius game in this era of non-creative and cliche games. Bravo...
Awesome documentary, as always! :)
What is the name of the tune starting at 9:25?
Very informative and detailed but the previous is more engaging.
This documentary series has better production level than the movie adaptation
