"Percentages don't even make sense to me" from the strongest bencher of all time. What the fuck, lol.
I been sayin that for years
supertraining06 Does this apply only to advanced lifters? I think beginners and intermediates might benefit from following a program, with or without percentages.
6reps Programs are good to get an understanding for what works but you don't have to follow them strictly. Bar speed and volume are more important than anything when training for strenght in my humble opinion.
Everyone is different. I don't use percentages either because I know that I am better at repping squats then bench. Say a program calls for 85% triple, this would be a joke for me on squats but overly difficult on bench. I know myself better than set percentages and I'll always adjust to that so instead of doing 85% for a triple on squat I'll do like 90% and do like 80% on bench. I don't count these 90 and 80% though as I always just go by feel and experience of what I am capable of.

Bruh the pump is going to be gone by the time you get to the store
@@CornShoe If you think that then you've never had a pump!

"Strength is gonna carry you through everything." -Eric Spoto 16:23
Not a single bald head was seen that day.
Son of a bitch. Wish I knew Spoto's arm wrestling tips before going down to California.
Hey Omar, who has bigger calves, Silent Mike or you?
David Sourdis They suck equally as much. Though I have the same or even worse calves than them. To be honest though I think Silent Mike might have bigger calves?
ReMarig00o yeah he does
What happened yo his pinky on his left hand?....Snapcity?
When you were talking about the construction guys lifting after work, I used to lift with a guy who delivered dry wall and benched 505 for 2 reps after a long day of work. Those construction guys are beasts!
I love your videos guys . I was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and went through it all ,chemo, radiation and also a bone marrow transplant. I was never in the best of shape but was always a lifter and strong. After everything I went through / still going through, I got sooo fat and out of shape all the way up to 300+lbs. I've been working out and doing a lot of cardio and and feeling better also down to 268 lbs in a month . I just like the way you all interact with each other. It reminds me of working out with the boys in football/baseball/basketball or the bouncers at the clubs lol. You bust balls but incourage as well, I love it . I'm rambling I know . I just want to say thanks super training.
Stay strong bro
Hope you're doing better bud
Hope you’re fine right now, keep up the work
Great Mind Set bro hope you’re doing better now
I don't even powerlift but I love the vids over the last few months
Thank you so much
supertraining06 hey Mark can you do a vid how to train while u recover from injuries? ? I have one of my hamstring bother me for a least 3 month now I can still do everything but my weight on the squat have reduce I don't feel comfortable squatting heavy
hahaha yes!!!!
im not a line dancer but i still watch your videos is like an awesome compliment!!
So far you've got
Chris duffin king of squats
Eric spoto king of bench
Omar assmuff king of no calves
Get Pete rubbish king of deadlifts next.
Thumbs up for Pete rubish
*george leeman
George leeman is king of deadlifts , guy.
National Health Institute Ed Hall would *technically* be king of deadlifts but whatever
danohrly he used straps, george uses hookgrip
life goals : Have Mark Bell personally scoop me up at the airport then take me to his dojo and swag me out in Slingshot gear. Make a Wish Foundation fantasy lol
Spoto has no secrets this dude is just crazy fucking strong
Others have said it but it would be cool to get george leeman out to supertraining sometime
hbk4eva1 He did the backyard meet of the century.
hbk4eva1 hell yeah dudewould be fucking awesome!
Eddie hall :)
He just announced it today, Leeman is coming!
+hbk4eva1 The one dude I would love to see there too, is John Broz.
"feels like crossfit" I can't lolol
I miss this Mark Bell. The one that actually cared about powerlifters
matt r f
Now he's just pushing his own shitty carnivore diet and making money. I rarely watch his current videos because of the nobody novices in his gym these days
Been loving all of the frequent videos that have topics across the mat. Keep 'em coming! It shows that you're putting a lot of work into this channel, and this is why I support slingshot products!
priceless information in this video
best fitness channel on youtube hands down.
The vids just keep on getting better, both in content and production. I really loved the ending with Eric's quote, nice :D
Amazing content!! Thanks a lot mark, eric and silent mike
Great video! Thanks for all the other videos too, it's amazing that these elite athletes are putting out so much content to the general public. You wouldn't find athletes from other sports doing it, especially not the elite.
Been waiting for this vid! Love it!
Why do my chest and shoulders get pumped just listening to Eric Spoto talk about benching. Side note: nothing else gets swollen.....
Awesome content guys-these videos are fantastic. Inspiring the world and opening powerlifting to the world. Major mainstream appeal
Another excellent video, extremely informative and simple to apply.
Awsome video! Love spoto more videos with him! Keep em coming
Love the amazing content you guys put out !!!!
Eric is a monster
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
love the stuff you are putting out.
This recent series of video's has been amazing.
Amazing content as always!
I love these shows, very informative!!
“percentages don’t make sense to me”
mark bell and and mike cried
This--> "I want to feel like i left the gym doing something better than i did the last time". Love it.
Great job to notice and highlight that phrase supertraining06
I would add this: "I want to leave the gym feeling that i give it all"
Great vid. Like that you included the entire workout
Great video. Very motivational and informative.
Always great content, Smelly. Theres not many channels on youtube that I actually enjoy watching
Very insightful video, awesome!!!!!
Best powerlifitng advice!
5:05 his triceps are HUGE
Arthur Rotter they are huge but the aids fisheye lens distorts them to make it look even bigger.
Like Mark said in other video its not so much the speed but the control and ease that Spoto has benching. Almost like poetry in motion.
I'd hate to be the guy sitting next to spoto on the plane. No room at all.
Check the video of brian Shaw on a plane
Nick Bates If it was a fat guy I'd be pissed as well. If I saw spoto next to me on a plane.. oh my god. I'd ask him so many questions regarding everything that even a 24 hour plane trip would feel like 2 minutes literally. Poor spoto though! XD
Cody Long yeah I've seen it lol spoto looks wider than shaw in my opinion. Probably cuz shaw is alot taller. But I'm pretty big myself and wouldn't wanna be stuck sitting next to either!
Nick Bates your the size of brian shaws arm you scrawny fuck
shane slaine lmfao what are you so mad for? I'm 6'1, 280 lbs. Not exactly what I would call scrawny but hey whatever floats your boat, guy with no profile picture! :)
God damn this ain't no regular dude.
I love this video, thanks!
This has to be the best channel on UA-cam...
love the longer vids type docos
How does this apply to crossfit. I need to do some hand stand push ups and then run a hundred yard dash wearing a dress and heels. This information is useless.
Great video, this is awesome.
Recently got bk into it, and my youbger cousin just put me on ur slingshot product. Man in a short 6 weeks my bench has gone up immensely. Id like to get something to kinda help around the elbows to maximize my training injury free...Keep up the good work fellas..
Awesome content
Mark 405 for 3 now well over 500 for 3 in 5 months crazy shit
I noticed the same thing. I respect Mark...but come on.....he was taking more sauce to get to 500 for reps.
I remember this guy from the gym in Sachem North. Wow. Crazy.
Great vid guys! Spoto is a big dude.
What a legend love the video 💪
This is def the best channel. Would be cool to get some George leeman up in supertraining, very great guy.
Loving the 60 FPS! Especially when there is lifting going down. It's a noticeable difference
eric spoto is very knowledgeable and humble, and ed coan loves him too
Love the long vids
I wish i could work out with them. They are my Idols!!
What I found with bench is that getting a overall stronger body helps you a lot because it helps you get tighter and can exhaust more power in my push.
Spoto is a freak of nature, he is literally built to bench. Guy has like a 2 inch bar path with full rom.
Great videos
When did this become the best lifting channel on youtube? I'm not a powerlifter but wow , keep it up! regards from South Africa
That was an excellent video guys
Great video!
mark your slingshot is a gamechanger. my bench press has finally stopped plateuing and i have gotten over the 185lb mark for reps. now i hit my year goal of repping 225 for 8. thank you
What slingshot did you get ? Mark recommends that if you bench under 225 or 315 to get the blue one but i am very hesitant whether not to buy the red one... I am benching 198 3x5 and then 185 2x5 cuz i am doing 5x5 on the bench.
this dude has like 25 inch arms wtff
Great vid
Love your channel! I liked what spoto had to say about percentages. I try to train like the old timers trained, trying to add a rep or 5-10.lbs of weight to each Exercise every week. Like the Bosco system of progression. You have great guests on your videos, I'd like to see Brooks D. Kubik as a guest on one of your videos. Again, I enjoy your show and will continue to watch in the future.
adding just a rep every week goes a long way. a great way to progress rather than over adding weight and being stuck
Mark Bell and Silent Mike and the SuperTrainning Gym. You all need to come over to Abu Dhabi and sell your Slingshots gear. You guys are my inspiration. I started Powerlifting because of Vids and special guest. My whole body and Mind is so strong and confident. Due to you Mark Bell. Thank you.
Kel from New Zealand who resides in Abu Dhabi UAE!
He has a website
Cool explanation video
Really cool
GOTTA Get Eric Spoto out to Iron Addicts Gym June 20th for our event, great guy all around
Great vid and great new channel I just found ....I met Eric at the rich pina BW for reps challenge he was one of the judges ...awesome experiance ..I also took 1st place at that bench press contest and took home $2200 :)
Hey Mark, when are those yellow sleeves going to be available?
Great collab vids lately. I'd love to see you guys do a deadlifting vid like this with Eddie Hall.
i fucking love these videos!!!
Content is off the hook!!!
Y'all should invite Scot Mendelson and Tiny Meeker to come at Supertraining!
my favorite part of every supertraining vid are the onnit commercials
Jim! how is spoto doing? when is he returning to the platform?
Look at those fucking triceps. Fuck how much he benches, I am mirin those triceps you got there Eric.
wow.405 just getting blood in it.
What are those complete arm sleeves they wearing? Are those for sale on the website?
James Henderson was raw no shirt no wraps no sling shot nothing but pure power!
Where can we purchase them there compression sleeves that Mark and Mike are wearing?
awesome video dudes :) thx
What are all the benefits of the bamboo bar? I have heard of it, but never actually used one.
Record got beat 22 Nov 15, now it's 335kg (use the metric system, it's better)
Oh yes, it sounds better, how it sounds matters more than whether or not it works
Both work perfectly fine. You can convert lb-mass units to SI mass units pencil and paper. Hell, I've done it so many times I can convert kgs to lbs and vice versa in my head to the nearest hundredth. Metric elitism is unnecessary.
Fuck lbs. Metric system all the way.
Even tho this was just 4 years ago it looks like a video from the early 90s
These guys grew up learning from the guys who were champs in the 90’s so I guess it just carries on
How often would I do this routine per week? Thanks!
Learned tons from watching you mark supertraining06 might even do a meet with this knew found strength
I feel small after watching this
Did he say how many reps he did of 225? I watched the video when it was new and thought I heard it but now can't find it?
Eric is the main man he knows his shit
So you do 6-8 sets with high reps on the bench for a cycle. When you go heavier and lower reps do you keep those sets the same or limit it to less sets to focus on lifting the most weight possible.
where can I find those yellow arm sleeves?
where can we get those yellow compression sleeves?
Finally someone says it. I try to hit volume prs every workout but ppl keep saying stick to program.. fuck all that
Question: I tore my pec real bad (San Diego Chargers Doc said it looked like someone just filet my left pec major in the muscle belly and unlike most pec tears where it comes at the insertion) . I recovered over time, starting benching soup cans, got back to 405 (was at 500 lbs) but after 405 it felt like little piano strings in my pec were snapping (probably scar tissue). Ok, so I can't do weighted dips (loved them) because I tore me pec doing reverse grip declines (repping 365) and dips are too close to that position for my pec. Do you have any advice for a guy who can't do weighted dips, nor decline reverse grips for triceps. I already do skull crushers and and heavy pull downs (cable). I have also had three shoulder surgeries and am now 51 yrs. old. Still in good shape, but took a long time off lifting and I am only back at 275 max after 3 months of training. Just wondered how you delt with older clients and in my situation. I know that is a big ask and maybe you can't really answer it, but just in case something pops into your mind (besides, give it up old man) :-) ... I'd be grateful.
yo mark what model of iso-lateral row do you just?
