I remember seeing the ‘51 Alfa 159 on display at the US GP in 2019. I was amazed by how small it was compared to today’s cars, and even cars 20 years ago. Thankfully it was also very well preserved- it looked immaculate.

Continuo a admirar e a gostar muito da marca " Alfa Romeo" pelo seu legado histórico de conquistas e vitórias nas pistas de corrida disputadas por outras grandes marcas de peso mas para mim a Alfa tem um design único que lhe confere uma assinatura única e exclusiva de excelência, mas se ao menos nos tempos actuais a marca conseguisse metade da grandeza e qualidade que esteve presente nos tempos áureos como foi descrito no documentário!! 🤔
Não me refiro ao grande estilo que a Alfa Romeo tem e sempre teve mas sim a qualidade de alguns motores que deixam algo a desejar em relação á concorrência até de marcas inferiores!!
Sou e irei a continuar a ser fan da marca, até porque já vou no quinto automóvel adquirido embora já tenha tido alguns dissabores como despesas avultadas em reparações...

What gets me is how no one had any brains in racing history for so long using no helmets no mirrors no seatbelts.. duh ! Goes to prove racecar drivers arent known to be the smartest on the block..just look how long on board fire extinguishers have taken..
How on earth did you not notice the rearview mirrors on all the cars featured?
Also, the wisdom at the time is, in the event of an accident it's better to be ejected off the car and take your chances as to where and how you'll land on the ground. No one wanted to get crushed by the car as it rolls over, or be burned to death as the fuel would inevitably pour out of damaged fuel tanks and start a fire.
Drivers were very well aware of how dangerous the sport is, and we're aware that any mistake can have severe consequences, unlike some drivers today.
