  • MC-707 is triggering notes on TB-03s with live accompaniment on Wavestate. All other parts internal to 707. All external sounds routed through inputs on 707, what you hear is the 707 mix out with basic mastering applied.

hi,can you please help advice me how you set this up, i have the 707 and wavestate, i take it the midi lead is out of korg and into the 707, ,do i need 2, one back as well or just the one midi lead.?
The left and right audio channels go to the mixer out from the 707 andnot the wavestate.
What other settings do you set to both machines to match tempo etc and how do you create a channel on the 707 for the sound of the wavestate please, thank you bit of a newbie to connecting it all up thanks sort a lot to answer

Hi Mark, it depends on what you're looking to do. In this particular case, I'm not using MIDI with the Wavestate and 707 as there was no need to sync tempos between the machines, but if you're looking to do that, you would need to determine which machine is the master clock. Typically, the 707 would be your master clock source, so you would run a MIDI out from that into the Wavestate and make sure the Wavestate is set to sync to an external clock source (set MIDI clock to either auto or external on the Wavestate). If you wanted to record notes from the Wavestate into the 707, then you would also need to run the MIDI out of the Wavestate back into the MIDI input on the 707. Then of course you'll need to make sure that your MIDI channels are also correctly set - make sure that whatever track you're using on the 707 is set to receive and send on the same channel that the Wavestate is set to.
And then for running the audio back into the 707, you'll need to use the audio insert function. This video explains it pretty well: ua-cam.com/video/fP9SAmdilXc/v-deo.html
      Good luck!
