Wolfgang played all the instruments on his album including this recording. I agree with another comment that you should watch the Don't Back Down video where you can see him playing everything.
Don't back down has a classic style rock riff and groove! Video is really good too!. Wolf played everything on this whole album. When Eddie was asked before he passed what he thought of Wolfies album he said' It's a killer album and prepared to be blown away and that's not just dad talking". Wolf made the decision to not be his dad and Ed was so proud of him to approach it that way.
The can't miss track on the album was the tribute to his father called the Distance, but as other comments in here have also stated Don't back down is the video where you see him playing every instrument.
The album really is great. This song, other than being an easy listening song for crossover appeal like said, is NOT the best song for a first impression on MammothWVH. Epiphany is the 5th single so there are several other great jams to listen to
Every track is amazing on Mammoth WVH. "Don't Back Down" is a barn on fire with 5 Wolfgangs tearing up the studio and "Distance" will touch your soul. You guys rock!
Did you know the Mammoth was one of the first names of the band Van Halen….hence the Mammoth WVH….I love his son carrying on his fathers tradition and legacy by blessing us with their music ….thanks for doing this group !!
Most definitely agree 👍 💯 Wolf is super talented in his own right! His video Dont Back Down showcases that fact too! Definitely a must see video and must listen song!!!
This whole Album is so good, I'm not some VH fanatic, Just was curious what Wolf was going to put out. So some time passed went online to check it out, and Guy's I'm telling you there is not a bad song on the album.... Seriously. I think he was nominated for a Grammy for this record? We'll deserved he smoked it first time out he really should be proud of himself!
Awesome reaction! Wolfgang is very solid on all instruments. Theres a lot of gems on this album that truly show off what he can do including Mammoth, Mr Ed, and Horribly Right. I'd also love to see more Van Halen reactions in general. Their first album is pure gold. Yall should check out "I'm the One" off that album. Its one of Eddie's best performances
I really really want you guys to do more Mammoth Reactions. I would also love to hear what you thought about their live show after you saw them in Vegas. I have seen them 6 times so far and they blow my mind every time.
He is just sooo good ridiculously multi-talented. Heard a story way back around the time of the second album I think - for Tremonti, that he was in NY hanging out with some friends when Mark Tremonti reached out needing his help, so he learned the bass parts overnight before joining the tour the next day.🥰🤘
He was hanging out with Sevendust nd got a call from Mark Tremonti to be the basis for the Tremonti tour. Imagine that. So fn awesome. Saw them twice this year with Alter Bridge. Most recently a few weeks ago and Sevendust was there also. Amazing show
Been subscriber for years and gotta say I fuckin love the respect these guys show the artists…I’m a rock guy which is why I subscribe here and their reactions are by far the best
This album is my favorite release from 2021. My favorite song from the album is "Horribly Right", but "Don't Back Down" is also a great song (with a cool video), and "The Distance" is a fantastic tribute to his father (also with an outstanding video). If you're going to the show and Dirty Honey is playing with them, you'll want to check them out too. Great band and another great 2021 album!
As others have said Wolf played every instrument on the record. Fun fact though the drummer in the touring band is Garrett Whitlock who played with Wolf in Tremonti.
I really, really liked this. It's not too harsh- it's just smooth. WVH can sing! So happy that these artists are reaching out to you. They know a good thing when they see it. Thanks for the reaction- as real as ever.
Wolfgang played everything on the whole album and he also played bass on Tremontis - Cauterise and Dust albums pls do... Alter Bridge - Words Darker Than Their Wings, live at the Royal Albert Hall Tremonti - Dust Y&T - Black Tiger Avantasia - The Scarecrow 🤘
I love that Wolf plays & sings everything in studio & has a touring band to back him live. He is Mammoth WVH! He’s really humble about what he does & doesn’t ignore the legacy he was born into. He always acknowledges his dad & uncle for setting the bar so high. I truly hope he’ll go far!
@@mariaassante620 Oh yes The Warning is great too. I'm seeing them Friday in Austin for SXSW and then again when they're back through for the Mayday tour.

Follow thru w others that have recommended "Don't Back Down" \\m//
wolfgang is talented man to something as hard as Don't Back Down, to the heart felt tear jerker of Distance and having a range of instrements under his belt
I love the bts shots of all the old VH gear, and even the warehouse where Mammoth could go through and cherrypick what they need for their tour. The FAMILY BUSINESS continues!!
Don't back down video shows comicaly what you guys are wishing he did! ❤️ Also for inquiring ears! lol If you really want to hear Wolfie shread on the guitar checkout the song You're to blame! Wow! Killer solo! ❤️
Great reaction guys. this is a more dialed back song. As mentioned by another listener, "Don't Back Down" really showcases his talent and also gives you an inside look at his quirky sense of humor.
Don't forget, Eddie was the same way. He sang backup vocals on all the albums, played piano for years before he picked up the guitar (and on some of his songs), and played a few bass parts on the Fair Warning album and behind the Hot for Teach intro on 1984. EVH's father also played clarinet on one of their songs as well, so yes it does run in the family.
his dad and uncle Al, the drummer of Van Halen were both concert pianists, they were classically trained as little kids and Wolf picked it all up , it's in his blood
I love this band. It became my #1 late 2021. Check it the whole album. It has heavy, alternative, even a poppy song. But no doubt, he sounds original!!! Love his vocals.
I knew he had subbed in for members of VH in the studio and and touring but this is the first time I have heard his solo work and I'm actually impressed with how well it comes off. I knew he had a solo band of some kind as well.
You have to check out a band who was on tour with Mammoth WVH - PLUSH!! They are the hottest all-female band out right now and are also incredible musicians. The singer, Moriah Formica is a cross between Ann Wilson, Amy Lee and Lzzy Hale. They have 3 singles - Hate, Athena and Better off Alone. They go on tour with Slash/Miles Kennedy this Friday.
He also played bass on the first 2 Tremonti albums along with drummer Garrett Whittlock being on the first 4 Tremonti albums. I'd love to see another Tremonti reaction, can't go wrong with any but I'd say Cauterize, So You're Afraid, or Another Heart
The torch was definitely passed on to Wolfie but creating his own path. Enjoyed the album from start to finish. Can't wait to see what he does next. Also, watch Don't Back Down where he does everything. Phenomenal job Wolfie!!
Check out the vid for his song Don’t Back Down. Shows how he can play every instrument. Kinda comical too! 😉 Have already seen them live twice and going for round 3 next month! They just kick ass! I never got to see Van Halen, so I’m glad I get to witness Wolf’s career take off! 🎸🤘🔥

There's a video in which he is multiplied in six separate individuals in which he is the guitarist/vocals, lead guitarist, bass player, drummer, and even the engineer and producer. React to the official video if you want to. The name of the song is Don't Look Back. The ending of the video is funny where he as the vocalist asked if it was good while the "producer" says it was great while immediately says to "engineer" Oh my God that was terrible...we can fix that right? while the "engineer" appears to be getting a headache nodding his head as an afirmative response. But obviously it sounds great. I like the song.
You probably know by now that Wolf did all instruments and singing on this first album. He is a nasty bass player, and not ironically, his favorite bass player is Justin Chancellor from Tool. Wolf actually had Eddie take him to a Tool show in LA before Eddie passed. Good analysis on this tune. It just feels good. A good vibe. Something you can play in front of the fam or in the car with your girl. Just good rock. Something in short supply anymore.
Lest we forget WVH played bass for a while in Tremonti, a band you guys still need to get back to 👀 “Let That Be Us” or “If Not For You” would be great. Or “Dust”, or “Marching in Time”
Please check out ‘Don’t Back Down’ you’ll be vibing to it within 5 seconds, it showcases his awesome talent on every instrument… or Distance (made me cry like a baby)
I was a teenager when Van Halen was first hitting the charts. While I liked some of their songs, there were so many other bands I liked more, so I didn't consider myself a fan and never purchased their records. Fast forward to last year, when Mammoth WVH shared "Don't Back Down" prior to the release of the album. I was totally blown away by what I heard and immediately pre-ordered the album. His parentage had no impact on my impression of him. Most of today's "popular" music lacks creativity, so Wolf is like a breath of fresh air to my ears. "You're to Blame" and "Feel" are my favorites, but honestly, the whole album is awesome.
Dont know if you know this, but early on the original lineup of Van Halen called themselves Mammoth, but had to change their group name to Van Halen when they discovered another band was called Mammoth so they had dibs on it. So Mammoth WVH is a tribute to that history.
Don't Back Down video is worth a listen, their debut album has a little bit of everything for everyone. My personal favorite is Your To Blame great reaction guys, keep it coming!
As many here have said; you should do "Dont back down" official video. Wolfgang plays all the instruments, and the riffs will blow you away. This and a few other songs on the album have a more power ballad feel, but the rest of the album is full of nasty rifffage. Definetly check out some more songs.
Dudes!!! Never imagined you’d be checking out one of my tunes. Thanks so much 🙏

Worth checking out the video for Don't Back Down. Heavier riffs & Wolf plays all the instruments like a boss.
I was going to say the same thing
The song he did about his dad too. I am a total metal head and I bought this album and I LOVE this whole album. Wolfgang is special for sure.
Was also just going to say this. Seems like a lot better fit for their tastes.
Was just going to suggest it! Yes and live he pokes fun at himself too lol.
