‘I don’t like mono…and neither should you’ respect.
Boom
I love my spinfishers!!! They are great reels! I hope you were able to recover your rod. Almost forgot.... Wait for it.... Wait for it.... MONO for the win!!! 🎣😁👍🏻
Hahahahaahh remember your training my young Padawan
To my knowledge it’s still a semi sealed reel and if it does get dunked you should do a light freshwater rinse, never warm or hot water(breaks down the lubricants) love my penn reels and I’ll probably have to pick one of these combos up for the harbors as well
they are parctially sealed, not sure if i ever find this one, but if i do im gonna have to open it apart and clean up
Sadly they still weigh far too much in the smaller sizes for any kind kind of lure work unless you're wanting to get a workout. The whole point of a 2500 reel is it's supposed to be light weight. I think the Spinfisher VII in 2500 is really a 4000 in most other brands
it is fine, i have a 3500 vi and i see myself casting a lot more with it than others.. you get used to it, it is like you dont know what you are have or done have till you dont have it or have it anymore
I have 2500 not bad in weight I like the solid feel instead of a ultra light feel. I have a stradic also n it feels like it can break with a bigger fish
Stay off the soy… man up.
@browndog4299 When you have arthritic hands, remember that comment. If you live long enough.
@@soobz I have arthritic hands…elbows, knees and hips. Sorry, hip. Just had one replaced. Don’t be offended, it was a joke. Soy (unless fermented) is very bad for a man’s health though…
I have five Spinfishers of the V and VI generations plus numerous other Penn reels. After 40 years of fishing them, I think the biggest plus is the simplicity and long term support for the Penn products. I'm sure this is partly due to the popularity. The biggest negative is the weight of the Spinfishers. I know why they are heavy and at this price point, it's hard to put enough engineering and advanced materials into them to make them lighter without sacrificing durability. I still have an old Greenie that works perfectly, not to mention some 704, 710, and 712's. My favorite is an SSV4500 with the gears switched to brass, some better bearings and a reworked drag stack. For the size and weight, it's a tank and very smooth for a Penn SSV. Probably better than my Slammer III reels for smoothness. My biggest complaint is the not having bearings support the pinion gear.
i always enjoy my spinfishers too
Mono stretches to much lol! Braid for the win. Have it on my Battle 3 and Penn Pursuit. Going to look into a smaller rod like the 2500. Harder to set the hook on the 4000 and 5. Love the videos man!
Yeah try a 2500 with 15# thanks bro
They also changed the gears to cnc brass on the 7 where the 6 has aluminum
I thought you bought the Native TitanX 12.5 kayak, but that kayak looks real nice 👌.
Also I heard you drive 4 hours from Miami to Auburndale that takes dedication, also can you do a review on the wilderness system RECON 120, action watersports has one I'm thinking of buying that instead the Native TitanX 12.5, mostly because I don't won't to spend $3,500 plus tax.
Please and thank you.
ha! didnt i kill the pedals? hahaha i havr vidoes on the recond hd search "aliex recond 120" on UA-cam i should show up
this time i took my family with me on the road trip
@AliexFolgueira I found it but it said you didn't like the kayak, so I should get the Native TitanX 12.5 kayak
Hello just found your channel (subd)
What would you recommend as a first reel i know say this is perfect w 15lb braid with a heavy leader but for someone that would only have one go to reel for any fishing would you still recommend the 2500 ?
Id do lake fishing (trout) also would like to take it to the ocean and catch rock fish and possibly some small yellow fin and yellow tail ?
so for anything inshore 2500 will do, with 15# braid just increase leader when you have to, use the power of the rod to fight the fish. If going offshore and dropping baits deep, i would add a 6500, and a rod that matches, MH or Heavy, chekc the rating for what bait/weight you are dropping and put 30# braid on it, i caught a huge blackfin lile that before. thanks for the sub
Ouch! Rod floats.... or pool noodle diy in a pinch
did u ever get ur new rod an reel outta water ???
Didn't see it again
Mono does suck and idk man I’m not using Spinning reels anymore, Casting rigs only!
No ffs drop shot?

Haven't yet

Not even close to the best reels on the market. Daiwa runs circles around them it’s not even close.
What Daiwa model would you compare the the Penn Spinfisher VII to? It's got IPX5 water resistance which the Daiwa BG doesn't.
you’re lost
@@bluemonstrosity259 you can’t compare Penn to Daiwa. The BG is way better the saltiga and the exist are in a league of their own. Don’t come at me bro you don’t know anything about fishing or gear.
@@jomanky9523 how so ? Because Daiwa reels are in a league of their own. Come at me with some knowledge let’s see what you think you know. Peasant’s these days get in my fkn nerves
