  • In this video I explore how to use Houdini like Marvelous Designer. I bring in three garment patterns and show how to trace them. I show how to unfold them via the Mirror node to make a symmetrical shape. I show how to Remesh them which is the equivalent of Particle Distance in Marvelous Designer. I go through the steps of creating seams on each of the relevant garment edges. I show how to convert each garment shape into a cloth object for participation in a Houdini simulation. I show how to stitch the garments together and how to resolve problems with cross-stitching. In the end I place the garments on the Houdini Simple Female digital asset using it as a cloth collision object.

Hey sir, it's 2023 now, would you say this workflow is still relevant or there's a better way to do it now? :D

    Great Tutorial :-) Many thanks.
    One comment:
You can avoid the copy and paste pointgroups by using:
"pointlist" in the "Constrained Points" and "Goal Points" fields.
Simply add a "Null" after all groups to have the groups in the "Null",
    then use it like this:
    `pointlist("../../geo_bodice_FRONT/_NULL/", "dart_inside_L1")`
    Please notice: ../../
