Easy Way To Add Homebrew Mechanics To Your D&D Campaign

- I use hags to playtest homebrew mechanics I like from other games. I honestly don't think there is any issue with stealing mechanics from other games to use in yours. It's your game.
In this video, I share how hags can help you playtest those mechanics without needing to start a new campaign with the rules from the start.
If you enjoyed this content, please throw me a like as it helps this video reach a larger audience. Thank you kindly!

lmao that instant head bonk
Well that was an opener... 🤣😂 This is also an amazing subject. I love and hate hags. When you come across them, it's almost guaranteed you should murder it. If a house walks, run the other way...😜
Hehehe yes this! Totally agree! 🤘🏼
Hombrew is literally the best part of being a DM, at least for me.
Totally agree. Along with experiencing the choices your players make and experiencing how they interact with the fiction 💪🏼
Great stuff man! I always love your “do what you want” approach!
Thanks! At the end of the day, it’s all about having fun with your friends 💪🏼
great intro!
I think that Hags should be used as the old sage deep in the dark woods that have a hermit life style! (gender don't matter, its a stat line! make the character work for you!)
They don't have to be evil! but they should be veiwed as evil by people around them! Think of salem witch hunts!
I will regularly have a Hags(any hags stat line will do) in the game as a friendly sage NPC, that the PC's visit to get advice!
If the PC'd discover that they are being tricked, that is fine! that can be great RP!
Love this! Yeah hags are just so rich for plot hooks and bbeg’s and just being an all around terror. Love the idea of them being a friendly Sage NPC that also gives good advice and tricks the party 😄
good stuff
To keep it simple, let all pc's roll all the needed dice for one round at once, let the chaos commence 😊 About hags, well they can be any shape or form, allegiance or whatever you think of. Keep your pc's on their toes (since they're in the majority) to wear them down 😉
Totally agree.
Hags are by far my favorite monsters in all of D&D, every edition, etc.
They are drilling with lore and so damn fun to run. This doesn’t surprise me 😆
I use the spell point system out of the DMG, but learned I had to account for the increased flexibility. For example, I ruled paladins (and other characters with smite-like abilities) could only smite once per turn since they could deal a lot more low-level smites, only going big for crits (or crit fishing and dishing out multiple big hits when they would only have one top slot under Vancian). TLDR: beware unintended consequences.
Absolutely. One of the hardest challenges of incorporating homebrew is minimizing unintended consequences. Agreed 🤘🏼
Hello
Hello!
ooh, I never knew J did that! :D
Cool😮
HAGS? Have a great summer!
Heheh I was waitin’ for it!
Roll to cast was made famous by DCC, right? Love DCCs magic system and almost everything about it, except the goofy dice.
Pretty certain you’re right. And we’re totally in agreement on the weird dice 🫠
Help, I'm stuck in a loop of hitting the J button.
Oh no! Uh uh uh…..idk what to do Jarold! I’ll be right back and go get help!!!
