Thank you so much Dr. Goldner for giving us these weekly lessons. I have been drawn to your spirit of love and joy for life as much as your nutrition advice. This lesson is particularly timely. They always seem to be. My son offered to train me for my summer vacation five days a week. It is so difficult for me and encouraging to hear you say that we need to do something for a month before we want to. It's like wading through mud a lot of days but I'm hoping that I will feel more energetic in the near future. I don't think I will ever be vegan but I'm enjoying your green smoothies and eating huge salads. xx Karen

Hi Dr Goldner Thanks for the great information on iodine and Hashimoto's disease. I tend not to eat ionized salt but sea salt I prefer the flavour. I do have thyroid disease. I have recently added kelp to my daily diet 1/8 tsp and the green smoothies. Thank you for your dedication educating so many. God bless you ❤

Some good questions on this q&a. I love the lessons I would like more of that. I get why people ask if this will help there specific illness but I wish ppl would understand it could help the whole body! I would personally like more on the mindset that is where I’m stuck. It’s hard when you throw life into trying to eat well. Unfortunately it feels like the top worlds disagree.

As our species evolved, where did we get our dietary sodium and iodine? Did our ancestors evolve near the sea and consumed enough salty sea vegetables?
This is a sincere question, and I wonder if the answer may help your followers understand better about salt and iodine. It’s kind of like knowing where B12 comes from and how our ancestors ingested it through natural waters and healthy soil that stuck to food they ate. This helps explain why B12 is often a needed supplement now that modern sources of water and food have the bacteria that make B12 removed. So if we learn where how our ancient ancestors consumed sodium and iodine and why those methods are no longer available, it could be good info.
PS- Just received your books today and am on the second day of smoothies from your online recipes! 💚🌱

Im 75 y.o. female, weigh 114, 5” 2” (lost 47 pounds. I haven’t been tested recently to see if I have not had a a thyroid problem and have some symptoms…raspy voice, constipation, hair loss for 4 months (ok now) that I attributed to new WFPB lifestyle,as of June 2022. My last TSH blood test was .70 last September. What are your thoughts. I’d like a full thyroid panel run.

Hi Dr. G! I just discovered you on Chef AJ's channel. I was dx'd w/drug-induced lupus. My first Covid vaccination was on my last day of radiation (breast). I had 2 subsequent vaccinations when I felt my body going haywire. My PCP referred me to rheumatology and I was dx'd with drug-induced lupus. (Rheumatologist wants to put me on meds to reduce the inflammation. I've declined.) I don't take meds that cause DIL. I do take Anastrozole, x 2 years now. I have none of the usual lupus symptoms, except after having Covid July 2022, my hair has been falling and continues to fall out. Just saw my oncologist who told me that my hair may be falling due to the anastrozole. Since I don't take DIL causing meds can DIL be resolved by following the protocol? I have been vegan since January 2022. I lost weight w/out trying, but I hit a plateau months ago and haven't lost weight since. I'm frustrated! I hope you'll see my comment or someone might let me know where I should send in questions in advance of your next live Q&A. Thanks so much!!!

How come so almost all autoimmune issues resolve on carnivore or lion diets ?! Isn't the diet we have evolved on mostly as plants were hard to come by and difficult to rely on ?! How is it realistical that we are greenevores when in the wild it would be so hard and time consuming and even dangerous to consume all that plant material ?! Could it be that hypernourishment works not because of the plants but because of elimination of triggers while fighting the kale and spinach and oils also ?!

So am I the only who's still confused over the salt question? All you eat all day is the big smoothie, a gallon of water, and big ass salad and she wants you get a teaspoon of salt to fulfil both your sodium and iodine requirements. Where are you putting a full teaspoon of salt, on the salad?

You don't need that much of sodium, some sources say between 200-500mg to function properly. You probably don't need any salt supplement if you eat enough greens. You need iodine ofcourse.

I freeze my broccoli sprouts and make my smoothie 5:30 am but I don’t open my intermittent fasting window until noon so I put my smoothie into the freezer. What I wanna know is after I have blended the green smoothie with the broccoli sprouts and then go to take it out at 12 o’clock. Will the sulfuraphane still be active in there for me or am I wasting my time ?
