I just came for the Koreans on rooftops.
lol
I can for to tilte
they camping burger town
they looked gangster
same
They forgot to mention, Korean store owners and communities that protected their property were arrested if they had gun, legally or not... LAPD didn't do shit to help anyone during that time, they punished Koreans for trying. Then the city of L.A offered to help korean business owners, then ditched them...
scary Square They were immigrants coming from South Korea trying to have a better life. These stores were there livelihoods.
they are bussiness men
@@earthismyhome___________6722 What does that mean? "I mean it's no war in America" Maybe you are an immigrant and haven't learned English yet.
I mean the police is going to put you under arrest is their is a weapon involved in the crime. Regardless if it was self defense or not. They go to court and are release when proven innocent.
@@matthewdixon6966 - A court does not declare people "innocent." It declares them "not guilty." There is a big difference between the two. In a criminal trial the prosecutors have to prove their case "beyond a reasonable doubt." Which means that if a reasonable person doubts the defendant committed the crime, the jury must return a verdict of "not guilty." That does not mean the defendant is innocent, it means that the prosecutors did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
This country is filled with people who committed crimes, but the prosecutor didn't have enough evidence to convict them.
And I think the point of the OP (original poster) was that LAPD should have been arresting the looters, fire starters, and molotov cocktail throwers instead of picking on Koreans who were standing on their rooftops trying to protect their livelihoods.

Sounds like you're making a big leap comparing throwing government owned tea into a harbor to burning down your own neighborhood.
+George Boyd I don't think it caused a lot of change still to this day there is a lot of gang violence in LA and I think cops aren't part of them
***** Its not, a riot might start as a fight for change, but as seen time and time again it always end up diminishing the very people its supposed to help.
Violent riots ALWAYS end up hijacked by looters and hardened criminals, and criminals of opportunity.

Fun Fact: The 1992 Los Angeles Riots also was responsible for the first ever Emergency Alert System (EAS) launched.
Actually, that would be the Emergency Broadcast System that was used during the L.A riots of 1992. It wouldn't be until 1997 when the Emergency Alert System debuted.
Michael Lovely actually it was the first they didn’t debuted yet but they did use it once.

I find it fascinating how the Koreans came up from this event but the black people didnt...

I disagree with a court ruling ... so I'm going to go and burn down some random store and loot stuff to express my disappointment ... crazy mentality.
Smh there is a deeper reason to the riots.not that I condone it. As a race of people who were continuously racially profiled and exposed to police brutality during this time period I would be very frustrated too.to know the country I live in doesn't like me,doesn't want to employ me,see's me as a criminal when blacks were brought to the Americas by force , and is justified by the law to kill and or assault me. Wouldn't you find that frustrating? Or do you think everything can magically be fixed if 'black people worked hard'
+Jahnia Cherenfant what about all the people's who's stores got burned down, who's cars got smashed and broken into, what about the houses that were tarnished, what about all the life's of the people that were crushed? Where's there riot Huh? How come they can't "express themselves" by starting another riot? Oh wait, no one gave two fucks about them. They should've sued, they did nothing but destroy there own city. That's like someone pissing me off, and I bang my head on the wall or cut myself. It does nothing to the main problem at all.
+the critical cruz did I say I support the riots? No I didn't. I said I understand their frustration. And as being a black person in America I learned early on the law can do little to help us. How can one of us or maybe a group of us go up against the law system in a country that is set up to only look out for privilege white america. The u.s has showed over and over throughout history that is does not care for its black citizens, and it took some of us acting crazy for them to realize that it's so frustrating that it leads to violence.

Watching this after sad moments in 2020. who else?
Anyone here from Minneapolis riots last night?
@Jay T Time to mobilize Koreans from across the USA into Minneapolis
I like how they say "one member of the crowd" described it as lighting a bomb. That "one member" was John Singleton, director of Boyz in the Hood, Poetic Justice, Higher Learning & Baby Boy. I'm surprised they didn't note that, considering that Singeton has helped shine the spotlight on the injustice done on blacks in South LA during the early 90's.
Im not from the USA but this is my take on it.
1. The police was guilty no doubt about it. They deserve prison as they got.
2.King was doing illegal stuff but don't deserve punches and kicks. I also thought that the money he got was a excellent payment for the damage.
3. The looters were at the wrong, why attack your own brothers and sister of the nation for a reason that's have nothing to do with the owners. Go burn police cars instead i dunno.
4. The reason behind the mass rioting has many factors, some could be bad communication. Like not everybody know that king got payment or that the police got justice. Also many of the rioters were probably of low income and education, with alot of hate building up.
5. rioters could have rioted somewhere else, for example police stations, or protested outside city halls. Not spark a gang war against Koreans and Blacks. I also think that many saw the opportunity to seize valuable electronics from the store's and blame it on the king trail.
cocainecowboy youre lucky you were not born in this kkk nazi white supremacist loving country

@@Vladpryde The US is a shit country he has every rights to say that if it was not a shit country these policemen animals would be in jail during the first judgement
Soon Ja Du (a korean shop owner) killed Latasha Harlins, which made people mad and against koreans. Most koreans owned shops and some people thought all koreans were basically the same, which is why looters targeted koreatown for the most part.
3. Burning police cars and police property... Cool, now you we all get to pay larger taxes to fix and repair state own public service infrastructure.
5. Protesting infront of house of senate, townhall, courthouse should be encouraged, protesting infront of police station not so much.
Instead of having low-rank police officers going on patrol, responding to emergency calls... They would most likely have and will call all police officers pulled from the field back to the police station that is "under seige" to protect their HQ, gear, weapons, evidence (seiged weapons, drugs...), case files ets.
If the police station burns down, a lot of people couting on the evidence to be presented in the court would be let down making even injust court verdict due to lack of evidence.
Proposition of 6.
Have common sense
Think if your actions impact your own life long term (death, prison time, higher taxes,)
If the system is at fault focus on changing the system rather than changing other civilians abilitys to earn their livelyhood.
Treat others the same way you want to be treated.
While I totally understand the frustration and hopelessness, resentment and rage due to percived injustice done to oneself or a group of people they belong too. That these riots are driven with emotions rather than logic, other than those who exploit the opertunity to gain from the ongoing chaos by looting, shows just how quickly "civilized men" subcome to basic human nature and emotions.
Sadly these events are needed in every generations to show our own flaults of humanity and have those in power realise that exploiting the masses of week, uneducated, economically dissatvantaged can have dire consuquences in matter of hours.
The rich divide and conquer. Making this into another "race war", gender war, idiological war, keeps the masses battleing amongst themselfs while the few very rich profit and are not effected by the lower and middleclass infights.

@@truthrevealed8581 IMO it was pre-meditaed murder. Whether black, blue or green this cop was a danger to society. He has a history and he knew exactly what he was doing. No one in law enforcement as long as he would not know that cutting off the blood supply to the brain (Cerebral hypoxia) will lead to unconsciousness (10 -15 seconds) brain damage (30 to 90 seconds). The video didn't mention another incident where a Korean store owner accused 16 y.o black girl of stealing even though she had money , later owner shot the girl. L.A. 92 a 2017 Netflix docu is incredible. Already watched it several times it's the best out there. Worth a watch if you haven't seen It, shows the horrendous beatings caught live on tv including the poor reporter who has his own attack broadcast live, the truck driver and the spray painting on victims with black and dead bodies. Most accurate and informative docu I've seen on the riots.
As always thanks for another top 5 video:)
I couldn't help thinking to myself as I watched the documentary, "If only the Tide-pod eating kids in Florida were alive to experience this firsthand; their views on guns may be a BIT different."
