    Teddi, I listen to the podcast, but I guess I didn't understand the seriousness of your health. As a dark skinned black women I've never worn sunscreen....I guess I need to re-think that decision.

      Actually you don’t need sunscreen- dark skin thrive off the sun- vitamin D and energy- if you didn’t know I’ll let you know we are children of the sun……fyi

      I have Acral Melanoma. Which predominantly attacks people of color. Acral Melanoma is a non-UVradiated Melanoma that begins in the fingernail. In African Americans it shows as a dark line that runs the length of the nail itself. Mine did not present this way. Had their been more awareness to this type of skin cancer, I may not be fighting for my life now. This exact cancer is how Bob Marley lost his life. Please spread as much awareness as you can ❤

      @Ms.Opinionated yes maam, Thank you so much for your kind words. Pray for me please. Another type of Melanoma that predominantly happens in African-American races alone, is Melanoma inside the mouth. Places you would never think Melanoma could exist. Melanoma that presents itself in places the sun never reaches is far more agressive than UV Radiated Melanomas. It in fact, takes the lives of its victims within 2 yrs. Yet, there is very little information being taught to races of color. I couldnt find a doctor that even wanted to research my finger. So I chose to keep it! That may sound crazy to most, i chose to withdraw from surgery until I could find a dr to research my cancer in hopes that a genome could be found. Maybe races of color wouldnt have to die from this rare cancer if so. I found a doxtor in Australia to research the cancer and finally just had surgery 2 weeks ago. So now I begin the journey to fight that good fight. Thank you for letting me share my story :) If it saves 1 person then it was all not in vain.

    Melanoma is no joke. My stage 2 mole in 2000 has turned into stage 4 brain melanoma in 2020!!! Brian tumor removed etc etc.... Good news... melanoma is no longer a death sentence!! The technology and science is AMAZING!! Love Sharon Mickey, Wimberley TX ...

    I can relate as I have had melanoma twice, the first time at 35 and second time at 38. This is the most dangerous type of skin cancer. I had to go to the derm every 3 months for a year then moving forward I go every 6 months. Teddi I am so happy that you are okay now. Everyday is a gift.

      What's sad is that when you watch this video, instead of having compassion for an incredibly invasive cancer, you choose to blast her about her plastic sugery! Now tell us what "sad" is to you!

    • @renellwhite9315
      @renellwhite9315 11 місяців тому

      It is what it is. DRAMA. Millions of people have melanoma and don't advertise it to the world. So spare me your sadness

    • @dro2000
      @dro2000 11 місяців тому

      @renellwhite9315 advertise it?? Are you mentally insane?? Wtf do you think she gets for "advertising" that? What she is doing is incredibly important! Her spreading awareness could save someones life! She spreads it to the world because she has a public platform to do so. Women especially who have cancer spread awareness to as many as they can. Thats why the Susan G Komen foundation is so prominent. You sound absolutely ignorant! Id watch those brave words though, because God forbid cancer finds you! That DRAMA may hit a little different.
