Lechuza xD haha. no that did nt cross my mind during my awkward 2 encounters with the same one years later.. But it does now, but I don't like to make assumptions about something that's just curious wildlife that just wants so say hi and know what kind of animal you are lol.. I am nervous around them but I tend not to worry too much as they have a pretty fairly peaceful reputation - more so than cats or dogs
0:52 was a territory call, sad to see the grid in his eyes. The giggle-like sound at the end makes the female when she feeds the owlets. Thank you for this nice video.
Okay but Sooty owls have to be my favorite... They have such gentle features about their facial disks surrounding those beautiful black eyes... Their colors are just so beautifully toned... The blacks, greys and browns all pleasantly mixed with one another, complete with several flecks of white... Their calls though... Would rather not... Gorgeous birds, HORRIFYING CALLS.
Phillip/Dustytuft and all the other Sooties: *laughter* hehehe! when you hear the sound of a woman screaming in the middle of the night, it might be us sooties, a fox, or an actual woman screaming bloody murder. you'll have to go out and see which! XD >:> [Guardians of Ga'Hoole sooty owl characters]
no!! it's Phillip/Dustytuft!!! orhaveyouonlysawthemovie? FYI, metal beak from Ga'Hoole could either be the Barn Owl in the vid or the Greater Sooty Owl. as the true Metal Beak [the original from the books] is Kludd, who's a Barn Owl. While the LOTG Metal Beak is a Greater Sooty. . .
So many ghost stories must've come from people hearing these birds at night. God, I KNOW what they are, I clicked on this video to hear them, and my hair was still standing on end.
They are such mystical animals. Very intriguing indeed.. But I don't trust them lol.. On more than one occaision, I've had them swoop to a lower brance adjacent to a tree I was at, and just stare at me, and "replying" with WhhoooOOOOoohhHHooo to my ..... umm .. hello?? and continued staring.. I slowly backed up until Ii was at a good distance from my door and went inside.. the other time it was inn the deep woods at my buddy's cabin and the same thing happened years later, and it might've been the same owl.. You could say I was properly creeped out to put it lightly, and when you put those 2 situations together and consider it might be the same owl years later coming back to me at a completely different location to bother me again... Put 2 and 2 together, and this is why I no longer go camping without a group in the deep woods.. I was lucky, It could have been a bear.. Before I could ask the owl in whatever way I could (Trying to offer a piece of mackerel as a sign of peace) it got bored and left.. But maybe he was just curious and an owl who says "hey I've seen you before.. Remember me?" and just wanted to socialize
I came here to see if I could identify the type of owl in my yard (eastern US) and the only one that sounds remotely like it is the Andaman Masked Owl, but when I Google it, it says they are only found in the Andaman Islands near India and are not migratory. I have no idea what else it could be.
Great Horned Owl: Hoo...Hoo...

"Tytos" are the best owls, they're like beautiful little demons. Especially the Sooties.
I see why these are also known as Lych or Ghost owls, very light color and sound like a banshee screaming, imagine hearing this out at night
I once saw a barn owl but it was almost white, cant remember if it was making any sound but oh god what a magnificient Tyto

Jennifer Love Hewitt in "I know what you did last summer" :)
God I love these little banshees.

Huh, Owl Lover?
love that screech that resembles a woman screaming. chilling.
Statistically speaking, 9/10 Pure Ones like this video.

I love the flecks of white they have on them, it makes them look like a starry night sky.
@@almightykellus2585 definitely agree!
Me and my friends found outselves in a field full of them last night. They where creepy, as they sounded like "shhhhh", but it was a great experience.
The sooty owl looks like it would be the edgy goth kid in high school
Also can anyone else picture dinosaurs making these noises?
It's a bit difficult to do so, but yes
Cool calls of many Tytos! :-)

That scene and the soldiers echoing "Metal Beak!" after that always gives me chills tbh

0:46 sounds like eagle 🦅
Eagles don’t actually sound like that. Movies/TV make eagles sound like that because their real noises aren’t as impressive lol.
Sounds more like an hawk, which is what you hear the most in movie foleys.
Ahhh the ancestors of Nazguls
The sooty owl sounds like a majestic fucking eagle. Now that I've listened to it a couple more times, it sounds like Fawkes from HP.
This is so awesome!!! Thanks for uploading this! :D

No, Kludd was a Barn Owl, just like his brother Soren

I can’t find a certain owl too. Seen and heard it yesterday. Sounded like a bottle rocket
If you living in the United States it be a Barn Owl.
SpicierEight0 I did more research and it ended up being a barred owl
@@landonmettert7845 oh nice. That's actually cooler imo
SpicierEight0 it was cool. It wasn’t making the normal sound it makes because it was a young owl calling its parents (I think)
