I gifted Santos to my late father because he had Parkinson’s disease, and he wouldn’t be able to wind or screw down the crown on the Datejust. My father has passed and now his Santos become my daily watch. Oh what a great watch. I have few Rolexes and to be honest my kids can’t tell the difference between them. But whenever they’re seeing Santos they know it’s a grandpa’s watch.
Currently own a 126200 blue baton dial and I owned a santos medium white dial, had to sell the santos as I couldn't get a good fit even with the adjustability with the bracelet. As much as i like my 126200 I miss the santos LOADS. I already have an explorer 1 and the cartier did feel like a better companion for it than the DJ.
I own both these exact watches! Large Santos white and the blue Datejust 41 on Oyster...its a tough call between the two, but I'd pick the Rolex I think
If only the Santos had a on the fly micro adjustment on the clasp that would be a no brainer. It’s much nicer design. Only issue is when the wrist swells up wear the Santos.
Dj 41 belongs in a jubilee bracelet no roman dial ,Cartier santos medium white dial another great classic so yes you might need both 😂 if you got the money
Thank you for watching! The Air King is a nice looking watch, but it lacks the date the Santos Large and Datejust have. I’m a big fan of date complications on my watches, but if it’s not a problem for you - I think the Air King would be a good choice! 😄
Better clasp, better finishing, better and more accurate movement, rich history. But if one can’t get over that tumor in the crystal and money is more important than advantages of Datejust, Monta Noble is a better choice indeed.
@@VidtinkuSirogo I disagree that the finishing is better; however, since you went there, Omega has superior design language, and greater variety. GS has superior finishing and movements. Anything quartz is more accurate. And rolex has no respect for those who want to buy their product. Ultimately, there's a bunch of handmade stuff (you've never heard of) I'd buy before Rolex. Rolex isn't special, and it's not a flex.
design language is subjective. however, nearly the whole rolex catalogue is iconic so i’d say they’re doing pretty well in the design department. and nobody who is in the market to buy a rolex is considering monta as an alternative. sorry. stop being a hater. people like and enjoy rolex. get over it
It is easy to find to purchase, but it’s still a pricey piece and therefore does still have some desirability. Plus, it’s all around a solid piece - just my opinions of course:)
When I was set on buying the Santos...my buddy that has the date just was telling me to sell all my other watches and just get a Rolex. He's very into "flexing". Where I come from....everyone rocks a Rolex. I just love the Santos so I bought it. I want a Rolex one day...don't wanna pay too much over retail though. And I want a few more watches before I get the Rolex. GS spring drive is next

Amazing story - thanks for sharing and wear your dads watch in good health 🙏🏻
I seen the santos the green one at the Airport and did not know it was such a stunning piece just incredible
It really is a gorgeous watch!! 👌🏻

It really is a tough call…! Thanks for watching :)
Great vid lad👍 we're watch brothers got the santos medium to add with my dj41.
Both look good on you🎉
Thanks very much - you’ve got great taste! 😉
Cartier is GOD Tier above all other watch brands, including the holy trinity. First time viewer - great vid. TYVM
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your support 😄
Excellent comparaison, thank you sir 👍
You’re welcome, thanks for watching! :)

Agreed!! It’s the only flaw of the Santos’ bracelet… otherwise it’s perfect 👌🏻
ye that's why I had to sell mine, still got my 124270 and 126200
@@monsieurdale9310boom! There you go.
@@MikoTheTomCat but oh how I miss the santos, would trade it for the dj in a heartbeat if it had on the go adjustment
@@monsieurdale9310yes much nicer design the santos. I agree

Cartier. Rolex does not compete.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 🙂
Great review, I'm torn between the Santos and the new Air king! Thoughts?

Rolex 💯
Datejust oyster smooth bezel < Cartier Santos < Datejust fluted jubilee
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! :)
The datejust that is not fluted on a jubilee is boring. But in this form it is a one and done watch
Agreed!! This non-fluted spec is my absolute favourite 🙌🏻
Depends if you want to keep it forever or not... Rolex easily resellable without much loss, Cartier not so much
Absolutely right, yes - Rolex carries much more resell value, although at least this Cartier model fares pretty well too!
CARTIER 👍👍👍
It’s a stunner 😄
Cartier is head and shoulders above Rolex IMO.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 🙏🏻
Cartier isn't to my taste; but, I get it. I just can't fathom why I'd buy a Datejust over a Monta Nobel.
The MONTA Noble is a beautiful piece too 👌🏻
Better clasp, better finishing, better and more accurate movement, rich history. But if one can’t get over that tumor in the crystal and money is more important than advantages of Datejust, Monta Noble is a better choice indeed.

Rolex holds value…Cartier doesn’t
Very true!!
If you don’t own a Rolex , then get the Rolex
Fair call! 👊🏻
Never a santos.
A Rolex might not be easy available, but the fact that a Santos is, makes the santos common
It is easy to find to purchase, but it’s still a pricey piece and therefore does still have some desirability. Plus, it’s all around a solid piece - just my opinions of course:)
The Santos is much more fascinating and original. Too many Datejusts out there, they're boring.
