    Wonderfully detailed tutorial, thank you Laura! You make it look so doable. And thanks for giving us the link to a beautiful free Maywood Studios pattern (although at 2 years later, the link no longer works, it was easy to search the pattern name and find it elsewhere for free download). ~Diana K.

    I like the way you get organized. It makes sense to cut everything first and it's so much easier if you're organized. Writing on the pins is handy. Thanks

    I bought a charm pack because I can't afford yardage but I love Lily of the Valley and need to find a table topper or table runner to make with the charm pack. My birthday is in May so I bought a plate, dessert plate, tea cup and saucer, a spoon I believe all from Royal Albert. I also crocheted a large white doily trimmed in variegated thread to display my mini cake plate. I think a Dresden plate would have been pretty for a change but I'll probably do a table runner with the 5 inch squares.

    This is a striking pattern! Unfortunately, none of the fabrics or kits are available anymore (I know, I shouldn't expect it to still be in stock 2 years later!). I'd love to see this done with strip piecing. I'd also love to see a strip set for the blocks! (Hey, a girl can dream, right?)

    There is so much I love about this tutorial ~ the pattern, your organization tips ( easy to follow!) , colors & the best explanation of trimming up. Well done & thank you. At the end when you showed the top assembled I was wondering if it made a difference that the top row, going from L to R the first two “green” on point blocks had the black center portions so that the gray surrounding the black were rotated differently than the rest of similar blocks. It’s still a black square surrounded by square & rectangular gray fabric but orientated such that the square gray blocks lay NW and SE as opposed to the other blocks where they lay NE & SW ( if that makes sense?). I don’t always get if that should matter because some tutorials mention direction & others don’t . Your tutorial is exciting & it is a design that would be fun to make.

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  6 років тому

      I'm not too sure, as to what you mean. But if you print out the pattern, you will be able to see it very clearly. Let me know if that helps

    • @mgs783
      @mgs783 6 років тому

      Yes, the printed pattern does show that all the inside of the green blocks are rotated the same direction where the black square centers with the small gray squares sewn on either side are situated so that strip runs from upper left down to lower right with the gray rectangular pieces flanking that ⬜️⬛️⬜️ to the left and right. Ultimately assembled that inner black square looks surround by gray which in turn is surrounded by green. The top two blocks on your finished quilt top had that sequence turned 1/4 more . I’m thinking it’s still acceptable if all the same blocks are laid with different rotation since the concept of the design is still similar just not exact?
      Regardless, the pattern is pleasing.
