    Thank you for sharing this important video. I just started searching about this since I never had heard of it before. We need more awareness on this.

    Garments are expensive but they really help, difficult to initially put on but one gets used to it .
    Once on they feel so comfortable and easy to move around.

    I only recently found out about lipedema. Was certain my symptoms were related to menopause (and indeed they were triggered by it) but I realize now that just about every complaint I have is related to lipedema. I stayed slender in younger years with high levels of daily exercise and a very Spartan diet (have always been somewhat hyperactive), but after a knee injury and Covid I ballooned from size 12 pants to size 18 in 10 years, Couldn't figure out why I couldn't control my weight on a 1,000-calorie-a-day diet. Have found it puzzling that my legs were cool to the touch when covered up in bed, why I have spider veins and lumpy fat deposits on my legs, why I have constipation and body wide pain. Now I know. It's not likely to get better, but at least I know know what I'm dealing with. The medical profession needs to know more about this. I've just been told I need to lose weight the past few years, but nobody recognized my very visible symptoms, even while checking pulses in my ankles.

    I use a Chi Machine daily, twice daily, and it has helped quite a bit with moving fluid.

      I wondered why the Chi Machine is never mentioned in these videos. I have one but with back issues, can't always use it. But it is an amazing machine!!!

      @@pC-zd4qj I love my Chi machine. I have bad knees so I use a pillow under my knees to support them and it works very well. Do your knees need support so your back doesn't hurt? Might help.

    Chemicals like glyphosate, plastics and GMOs are a bigger issue in the US because laws in other countries are stricter, and that affects health...

    Honest question. Surely the early presentation looks similar to normal weight gain/obesity? How does normal weight gain/obesity look in comparison? Im scarfed to go to the doctors and be told Im just fat an clutching at straws to excuse it.

    • @b_uppy
      @b_uppy Рік тому

      Because it looks different from normal weight gain. Normal weight gain is all over and evenly distributed compared to many fat disorders.

    • @b_uppy
      @b_uppy Рік тому

      Normal fat accumulates all over and rather evenly, including to fingers. Many fat disorders bunch up in certain areas, or deviate in other ways. Arm yourself with info from fat disorder societies to direct your doctor because the CDC and o ther governmental agencies often omits or carelessly words info in q way that misleads physicians.
      If your doctor ignores you, get another doctor. This one sucks.

    Very good presentations. I have been very effective with following the conservative treatments but am still considering surgery in the future. I am a healthy 65 y/o, is there an age limit for lipedema reduction surgery?

    I have discovered for my lipedema that it's the foods I eat that the fat cells react to for instance if I drink milk the fat cells in my ankles go wild start itching and moving around and swelling if I eat ice cream it reacts only a little if I eat sugary foods it will slow down my weight loss but if I eat low carbs the weight will fall off I went from 240 to 209 it was only slow because I kept going back to milk and ice cream I stopped using sugar and use monkfruit not artificial sweeteners if I could continully eat low card the weigh would fall off like crazy I started to bake my own pies without sugar and cakes and muffins but I was suspicious of the flour but I tried to use low carb flour now I have these cravings for banana splits and cokes those are my vices if I can resist them I am home free.

    In the New York City area and I’m struggling with this and can’t find anyone to help me and insurance to pay. I’m sure I have this because I have every single symptom. I wish I could find somebody in the New York area.

    I have also had Schlerotherapy done on my left leg to treat varicose veins . Does that help or cause future problems? At present it has relieved pain.

    He mentioned genetics, my mom had legs just like mine, everyone thought it was just fat. Her legs hurt her so bad all of her life. She did not know about keto , so she ate all the wrong stuff.

    Ehler’s Danlos is genetic, even though there is no genetic testing. Hyper mobility if within families is considered EDS.

    All treatment for lipedema is So expensive and medical aids do not cover any which does not make sense at all . How are people going to recover or be in a healthier state if medical we pay for does not help!

    Please quit using obesity in your conversation. We cannot help this disease. I would like for those referring to Lipoedema to please not refer to this as obesity. I was not obese when I first got diagnosed.
