I was gonna have Dabchick comment something snarky, but that was far too sweet of a shoutout. Thank you! 🫡
Love you Dabchick! Love Barnaby too! Thanks for the cameo! It was an unexpected surprise that brightened my day! 🥰
not a collab i was expecting but very welcome
@@timgavin3168 Do you have definitive proof or did you just hear that from someone you trust? It's important to do the research before saying stuff like that, otherwise it comes across as slander. For example, many people simply say "they're a fascist" or something similar, but they don't have a direct reference or even know who Mussolini was. Speak your mind, but please back up your claims.
HE'S ALIVE!!!!
Hi barnaby 👋 we love you! Just saying hi and keep doing your wonderful art! ❤❤❤❤
*NOT a bot 🤖 😂
Well, the strangest thing just happened. . . my phone broke many months ago and when I bought my new one, I didn't log into my UA-cam account for ages. I have probably gone over a year without watching a Bobby Duke video.
Then while walking home today I found a really cool stick that looked like a Harry Potter wand. I picked it up and thought to myself "I could carve that into a wand and give it to my sister as a gift" however, I only have a craft knife at home. I thought "Bobby Duke would know how to carve this using only the craft knife". By the time I'd got home and put the stick down I'd totally forgotten my thought process. Then what should pop up on my UA-cam recommendations just a few hours later - This video!! Perfect timing.
You better start carving that stick this weekend. Clearly the world is telling you to, you have to listen!
But for real, I hope you do.
@Sara-xk1ns Absolutely. It was such a good stick, too. A bit thicker and knarly at one end where the handle might be and then a super straight bit the other side that tapered into a point.
Hey, I picked up a stick months ago to do the same thing for a friend, only I didn't know how to carve stuff. Today I clicked this because knives are cool but then your comment reminded me I have a nice stick waiting to be carved -- thanks for paying it forward 👍🏻🪵
Bro i wanna see the finished result
As I started watching this I was thinking about how I hand-carved a wand for my niece a few years ago and wanted to do another one and then I see your comment! It’s been three weeks since you left your comment, I hope you got your wand carved!
Usually all the really cool Bobby projects I want to make are way beyond my skillset but this seems easy enough to follow!
As a wise man once said
I want that
You spelled it wrong, it's "I want thayut."
Nah it’s “I want thayuhtt.”
WEWD
i want thayut too 😮
*I want thayut!*
The way you balance unhinged and entertainment is nothing short of master class. I LOVE your videos, and I'm here for it. I also enjoy the various cool things you make.😅
Eccentric, but also really funny lol
This time last year I considered crypto without much knowledge and decided to have a consultation with a fiduciary, and it was incredibly insightful. I got into the market with 15k, One year and a couple of months in, and I'm up with 550k. I truly cannot stress enough how helpful experts in this field are!

how do y'all even make so much from crypto trading?
Market behavior can be complex and unpredictable. Mind if I ask you to recommend this particular advisor to whom you have used their services?
man it really doesn't pay to be a random breakable item in Bobby's shed.
Also I ordered the kit immediately, I would love Bobby Duke kits to be a thing so i'm happy to support it.
Have you actually ordered it? I clicked it straightaway and repeatedly throughout today but all I get is "404 page not found" ..I was wondering if it's a me problem or a problem with the website itself? If you've actually ordered it, where in the world are you based? It might be a country thing.. if not, could we make arrangements for you to order me a kit to my address and I'll send you the money please mate?
@@F4ce-Ache Got a 404 error here in Australia.
I love that you're making a video on the accessibility of this craft. So many people get intimidated by this and I always tell them, it is so much easier than it may seem as long as you're taking your time. Just so everyone knows who is unaware, you can also get fairly decent chisels for about $10-$20 and it's definitely a lot better for your hands than a knife like this, especially when you're cutting into something like maple. There's so many ways to do this kind of work so don't be afraid of trying new things
Where are you getting such cheap chisels??
@Entropy_arts you can buy them just about anywhere you can buy tools. Dewalt's are actually pretty decent and they're fairly cheap
@@Entropy_artsMaybe Harbor Freight tools?
Bobby, speaking for all your subscribers, we LOVE you brother!!

I agree 1000%

And, btw, your art is amazing, and this tutorial was easy to follow!
Pro tip for sandpaper. If you fold the paper over so the rough side is on the inside and the soft side is on the outside, it brakes the paper so you don't need to cut it. Works better on lower gritt then high gritt.
Than.
@@comradecameron3726 Hahahaha very funny
It isn't working for the paperless 1 grit sand paper though!
@@jwalster9412 that is kinda self explanatory, cant rip paper that isn't there. Bet yes you are right, which is why I'd recommend people getting normal sandpaper with paper because its most common in normal hobby stores. Its the easiest thing to use, at least it is for wood project. Idk how good or bad it is for other materials tho.

Not only did he do a Napoleon Dynamite reference, he ALSO put in a Nacho Libre reference? This is why I love your channel, Bobby. The art, the humor, and overall just a good time
I've been having a bit of a rough time, and watching craft father teach us all how to whittle was exactly what I needed.
Carving is one art that is hard to get into. You can't just find carving classes outside of college. I guess maybe if you live in a big city, but I don't.
Years ago, you inspired me to go out and get a rotary tool and carve rocks. I never made anything all that good, but I really enjoyed it. I had always wanted to carve something. Thank you for that, Bobby. You're the best
If you dont live in a big city just find a forest hobo he can teach you
I have always really admired your vulnerability about anxiety. I have panic disorder myself, and I get the wackadoodle ectopic beats also. Some days they seem to be non stop, so I can totally empathize with how you were feeling standing over your desk working and being frustrated by them. They used to give me so much anxiety too, but I’m leaning to ignore them. I’m a full time artist too and it can all be hard to live with, especially when you’re mostly alone with your thoughts. Glad the therapy has been helpful for you!
One of the most talented men on the internet! Period.
so agree!!
And such majestic hair
And I love his man bun
Talented in annoying stupid comedy things not in wood carving art.. Totally too much stupid comedy talks no art..
Stop hating if u don't like it then don't watch it it's that easy and I like the jokes so shut up already 😡
just discovered your channel through this video and i gosh, what an overwhelming first impression 😂. i definitely love how genuine you seem, not watering down who you are for the camera i can definitely appreciate that. i’m already really liking your content man, keep doing what you’re doing. you’ve gained a new subscriber !❤
babe wake up, new bobby duke video dropped!
0:47 Are we ignoring the fact you threw something at the wall and it struck in it 😂😂😂😂
Hey Bobby, thank you always for your videos. I absolutely adore your humor. It's been something that has pulled me out of depression multiple times. My fiancée knows im a big fan, and he always plays your videos for me whenever I'm feeling down. Thank you (and your family) for always creating beautiful things in this bleak world.
His videos always make me cry because, yeah. There's good in this world. There's beauty and love and happiness.
I love that Bobby has all the resources and tools to have made these, far faster and easier, but he didn't. He used the piece of wood, and exacto (with lots of blades), a pencil, and some sandpaper. All to show us that you don't need any fancy tools to make something cool. To me, it's just so cool that Bobby takes the time, himself, to do these things and prove it can be done. Too often, I see diy'ers make a video, they use all these fancy tools, and they say "if you dont have 'this' it's ok, you can still get the same results using 'that.'" Yet, they don't consider that some people don't even have access "that." Whatever the alternative item/tool/resource is, it's usually something that is still out of reach for the average diy'er, especially beginners. But here we have Bobby Dukes, outright saying this can be done with an exacto knife AND doing it. Then saying you can use other tools if you have, and want, to use them.
I honestly doubt this will be seen. But you have helped me so much discover my art, and inspired my children to follow theirs.
I am uk based, but I think the kit is an amazing idea.
I am a poor man, nobody loves me, but ... if I can order one and it be donated to someone else in the states who can't afford it. I would be happy to do so if it meant that they got made.
Take care lad, you are a absolute diamond.
Bobby, thank you for this! I am a knitter/crocheter and have been obsessed with the idea of making my own nostepinne (and maybe one as a gift to my sister-in-law, who is a crocheter, if it comes out nice enough)- a ball winder- for years. I've never felt like it was something I could really attempt, but the principles in carving one are probably similar to this. After watching this video, I feel like maybe I COULD do it. I think I'm going to have to give it a try.
Do it! Light it up!
i just love you bobby, not only for your content but the security you have and braveness to upload it, you inspired me to do so much things like painting, drawing, writing, creating content, and wood carving of course.
thank you for existing and being yourself.
Editing on this one is on point. The side by side to see it in progress while you're explaining....I'm totally digging it. Plus Rutin Tutin Fartin Putin is my favorite rhyme of the year.
Bobby Duke filling that void I didn’t know I had till I watched his videos. Awesome work! Thanks for the laughs!

Your so good at working with Wewd, incredible
i used to watch you with my dad since you were the only youtuber i watched who he liked, and i just remembered you, im so glad your still making videos mr booby duke
I literally just bought my first hobby knife today. Great timing 😎
Im so glad you are posting videos again Bobby! Me and my daughter love your humor, I literally laugh out loud constantly. Your kids must have so much fun all the time.. more Bobby, more!
I literally shouted “I want that!” At my husband when you said you’re doing the kit 😊
Unfortunately, I’m currently broke af, but I’ll be back on payday 😊
Did you ever get it? I bought while watching the video, totally forgot my hands cramp really badly just using a pen 😂
@ unfortunately not, because I’m in the uk and our shipping laws are wack 😖
Started getting PVCs in 2012, thought I was about to drop dead. Went through many appointments and anxiety attacks because of them. It’s a catch 22 because they cause anxiety but anxiety can help cause them. The best advice the doctor gave me was to ignore them the best I could and not train my nervous system to respond to them. That is what helped me the most, now I just ignore them!
Dude this is an INCREDIBLE teaching and helpful guide. Im so freaking excited to try this- then you drop the kickstarter kit. I freaking love your energy, honesty, pronunciations and creativity. You rock. Edited because CURSE MY BEING IN THE UK and not able to order the kit, i absolutely wewd have.
I really appreciate how this was made using much more common and easily accessible tools rather than the normal rather than using bandsaws or drill presses or routers and expecting everyone to just have those tools
I’m so glad you are back you have inspired me to make so many things inspired by you. Thank you for all the joy you have given me and all of your fans. I used some of your techniques and ideas you have truly inspired and encouraged me to do all of the things that I have done. I can’t express this enough but you have truly changed my life in so many different ways. Your funny content has helped me through all of the tough times.
Thank you. Bobby Duke Arts.
For all that you have done for me and your fans.
Love, Callen Block.
I love how you always rep the ten hun shirt.. in addition to just loving your art
It always brings a smile to my face when I see one of your new videos pop up. Keep doing what you do, my whole family loves watching your videos, they are always so inspiring yet somehow manage to crack us up so hard every time. 💜
Very well, Bobby... You've won... I've preordered your non-existant product that has more "some assembly required" than any IKEA furniture on the market, but you truly are an inspiration in not just your art but in how far you've come. My purchase is not just supporting you but a commitment to following your instructions without any other tools. I've tried making these before and even have an incomplete brass one on standby, so maybe....just maybe...not wittle my fingers...again. No guarantee on not sanding them though.
This is such a good tutorial. You are very clear in the process. I appreciate it so much!
Are you kidding me?!!! The kit is the perfect surprise after Christmas Christmas gift for my partner!! They've been wanting to get into wood carving/whittling for ages but all of the kits I find online feel so bogus. Gosh, thank you Bobby!
If this kit makes you happy, your next step might be one from BeaverCraft; they make a few "beginner" kits that are reasonably priced and come with a sturdy beginner's knife. I can speak to the quality of their kits as I got one for myself last year.
@@Dawnzerlylight I looked at “beavercraft” thank you for the suggestion! ❤️🔥

Really glad to see you back, Bobby. You are awesome!
True story, new videos by you are one of the few things left in life that bring me any sort of joy. I can't even watch this one for about another half hour to an hour.
i've recently picked a liking to carving, my friends told me that its boring, takes a lot of time. But man! your videos are simply perfecto. It makes me wanna start carving without knowing anything about carving !! keep it up you have our support.
Love the videos. So do my kids. Ordered my carving set. I'm super stoked and I really hope you pre-sell thousands of these. You deserve it. Can't wait to carve my own wewd project when it comes.
My guy this is THE BEST tutorial I've ever seen. I'm so impressed. The visuals with the clay, are just, wow. Incredible work. Your sense of humor is amazing and I love it so much. Thank you for this tutorial sir, you are a gem of youtube. I was mesmerized the entire video, just how easy it is for you to teach. Congratulations Bobby. I subscribed and I'll be here forever.

I really love your channel Bobby, not only are you very entertaining, and your art is beautiful, but you really are a talented teacher. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
I hope that you and your family are well and have a merry Christmas!

Top quality overall 😊
A tip about blades: if you are going to do something that will quickly destroy the blades then get the non branded ones like Bobby did, but if you want more durable blades that will stay sharp longer and won't break as easily then get the xacto ones. The cheap ones are fine for the use of wood but I'd never want to use them for detailed paper cutting.
I also use the branded ones to trim epoxy pours but I do it within a time period that makes the epoxy hard enough to hold shape but soft enough to make cutting easier. If I wait too long I will use already ruined blades but I really should buy some cheap blades for that so that way if I slip the cut is a bit cleaner. The branded names not having the tips break off and staying sharp longer are why I use them for epoxy since i make tiny things where it is impossible to trim them safely. If I slip I want to be cut by a nice sharp blade so it heals easier
In regard to your premature ventricle contraction. I also use to, too... I was diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome and stopped eating high histamine foods. All better. Along with a litany of other random symptoms. Thanks for the spectacular content throughout the years! Much love Mr. Dookie!

I get PVCs so frequently that my cardiologist prescribed propranolol (beta blocker) to help it. Absolutely life saving, it has helped me be able to do physical work again without feeling faint AND helped the anxiety levels a lot.
